This just s*cks. I'm so sick of my Nico getting bad draws.

:bigcry:

And poor Nico - he won't be able to start winning again until the summer. He can't be prepared for the French if he isn't getting court time, and he can't get court time with first round losses.

What a nightmare. This is just like 2003.

The Fena one isn't as bad as it looks - Moya has shoulder problems - its the Mayer 2nd round that makes me want to cry.

And yes, the "other" Fernando - that poor boy has worst luck in draws then Nico and Fena combined - and that's saying a lot.

This is the full draw in case people are interested.

Anyone out there from Chile that has heard any updates on Nico's physical problems. Last week he said that he still had some pain at times in his ankle - was wondering if its getting better.

Worried about the chico. :-(

A healthy Nico would beat Andy easily on clay. Not sure about him now unless he's feeling much better.

Hey Alonso - thanks letting us know that there is not any additional information out there on how Nico feels.

I'm nervous too! :-(

Cobalt - yeah he's not in shape yet. What I'm hoping is that he's had a few days to work on the areas that are bothering him and he'll be fresh for Andy. And if he could just pressure Andy...or Andy's serve is off...there's hope.

But if he doesn't win, hey there's Dusseldorf. His mom and dad will be there and probably Stefano too - maybe it will be his break through place like it was last year.

Fergie

I'm not nervous either ... If Nico plays good and without pain is fine for me, even if he loses :)

Of course I want that Nico wins but I don't have big expectations for this match ... Vamos Nico! :yeah:

Nico won the first set in a great TB :yeah:

But then his foot started to bother him again...played a bad game...and losing serve once is all it took, 4-6.

He had another injury timeout before the 3rd started...getting his ankle retaped.

He looks a bit tired so I'm worried...that combined with his foot giving him problems still

Cakewalk? What match were those people watching? I don't like Roddick but even I have to admit that he wasn't making it easy on Nico. But, I always knew that Nico was the better of the two AND he's the better fighter.

I watched this match twice today and I can't imagine there being one better this week.

Vamos Nico!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Me too!

But he said after the match with Andy that win or lose, he knew he was getting good court time in.

And he seemed really calm and determined during the Andy match so hopefully he'll be the same in teh Gasquet match.

Conditions are bad there though in Hamburg - its cold and rain off and on today. Ditto for tomorrow. Nico will have to wear a long shirt until his regular shirt. The people look like they're freezing in the stands.

Hope he just plays well and hope his ankle is okay, but with that said, I want some revenge here for those two losses! Revenge! lol!!! I'm not a big fan of Gasquet so really hope that Nico can beat him.

BUENA SUERTE NICO!!!

KICK BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Nico on TV and he lost to Gasquet in 3

I wonder if he and Gonzo will still finish their Doubles. They were a set up and 2 ALL yesterday

And Nico finished angry with Gasquet

I'm just so sad that I really can't post anything...

Though I am curious too why he was angry with Gasquet at the end. GAsquet plays a lot of head games with his opponents - does it to Nico, watched him try to do it to Rafa also in MC. Really dislike the guy immensely.

Hi guys - haven´t been here so much recently due to travels in Munich, Rome and Hamburg, but just wanted to say what a privelage it was to be in the stands to see Nico beating Roddick the other day. He played great and you should be proud of him. Sorry I was not at the Gasquet match today as I am going home tomorrow so I had lots of packing and other stuff to do, so I can´t give you a report on it. But if I hear anything I will let you know. Nico is fine though - his Mother and some of his family are here and he seems relaxed and happy over the past few weeks when I have seen him.

And believe you me - it IS freezing here in Hamburg  I am from wet and chilly England so I´m generally used to the cold weather, but there is an icy wind here that we don´t get so much at home and I have been freezing since I got here last weekend.´

Bye for now.

Rosie - thanks so much for that - makes me feel so much better - I've been really really worried about him with his ankle. Glad he's happy and relaxed - again, I feel a lot better after reading what you wrote.

And it did seem so cold there - watched the replay of the matches last night and everyone looked like they were freezing! Too bad - seems like a very nice tournmanet with a good turnout of fans.

And jealous of you - wish I could have gone to all the clay court tournaments!

Thanks Fergie! Why does this happen to him? He has these mental breakdowns or maybe it is emotional. And was he mad at Gasquet or mad at himself?
Both things ... With himself because he can't run so fast (a lot of time Nico put his racket in his thighs) and with Gasquet for celebrate Nico's errors

NicoFan
05-12-2005, 01:52 AM
Thanks for the updates Fergie - Nico shouldn't be getting upset with himself - he's doing so well coming back. Even the announcers were saying how hard it was hitting the ball for someone who has been out all this time. And he should look at Coria who was operated on after teh US Open and played in November of last year, and still he isn't 100%. And Guga. He should be very very very proud of himself. He's doing great! But I know that's hard for him (any player to do) - he probably wants so desperately to be back at 100%.

As for that awful man today - Nico s/b mad at him! Sounds like he behaved terribly. Cheering when Nico double faulted - that's poor sportsmanship.

I hope Nico never has to play him again...and if he does, I hope Nico kicks his butt!
