I was expecting this thread Miss Moderator!!!

He'll do well...I'm very confident about it,he has good chances there , but let's see the draw first. I'm waiting for a good one.

What about a Nalbandian / Federer final??? :yippee:

I'd like that one!
Actually, I think I'm not too depressed about it cause I only got to see the last two points of it!
How did he play today?

I haven't seen the match either..not even a point!
At least he will have more time to prepare for Hamburg,to get some rest , can be good for him.

Let's wait to see if Rosie can come with a report.

The presenters on sky were baffled by the nalbo loss. They thought his win in Munich would give him tons of confidence to see Santoro off.
In terms of Hamburg I'm confident he'll do well there, however the draw will be key. A few days off to rest and practice is just what he needs.

He's got nothing to defend in Hamburg, so he can get back in. The worst part is for Moyá...he'll be like 14 or 15, and with many points to defend next. And David shouldn't worry at all about this, cause he has nothing to defend in the grass season and can gain lots of points there :)

Sorry - just been busy. I am still in Rome and leave for Hamburg tonight. It has been great to spend some time away from tennis stadiums after watching every day in Munich - just relaxing, spending some time with my dear Italian friend Alessandra (hi sweetie if you are reading this :wavey: ) - did some sightseeing and kept well away from Tennis World. And don't worry Betty - I would NEVER get into a car with David driving - I value my life too much  There are other better drivers around here - I don't need him behind the wheel!!! He is fine though - still the same as ever - will check in from Hamburg when I can.

As for rankings - I have never cared about them and I never will!!! Top 10, top 20, top 30 - I don't care as long as he is fit and healthy and happy and still high enough to get the the Masters' series events and be seeded in Grand Slams. I never even bother looking at them - and he doesn't either!!!!

By masters series standards, nalbo's draw could have been much tougher.
If he's 100% focused (and I MEAN 100% focused), I can see him getting to the QF. After that anything can happen.

I will agree with you there. I can see him making things happen if he gets past the first round. Remember, he has no points to defend, whereas Coria does-and Coria has been seeded to meet Federer in the quarters. This is an interesting draw to say the very least....very interesting.

Greetings from freezing, wet and windy Hamburg - just like last year really  Am waiting to catch a fever as I´ve just moved from 25 degrees and more in Rome to something around 10!!! Went to the draw ceremony today - would have been interesting if my German extended further than "danke" ............my friend Tanja had to translate the interesting bits although there weren´t so many!!!!!! Boris Becker was there looking trendy as usual :p The Business Centre here in this Hotel is the only place I can find that is warm at the moment - wearing 4 sweaters indoors!!!!! If I am cold imagine how the Argentines are feeling

I like it too  Compared with Roger's draw, this is angel enough. Chela will be a little trouble, but I think David can pass this if his brain is there.

As to 3 rounds later, I think everyone will have to face a terrible draw if he can enter QF. A match is just a match. No one will feel it's easy to pass a TMS QF unless he has very very good luck. True.... Coria is too fast, Rafa's movement is also great. David doesn't play mostly depending on his movement speed, more on its style.

05-10-2005, 12:04 PM
Yeah, I've seen the match Clau. And he played some really good points, but he was never totally into the match. He kept on playing good games, but he could not finish them, they usually ended with an UE from his side. His return didn't work, and he seemed bothered and upset by his game.

Nothing new I guess....Good points , too many UE ,that "beautifull service" that he has..David at his best...

I'm just so frustrated and angry.
The british commentators were saying that he has the game of a world no1 player; but his major problem is not his serve but his mentality.
They were saying that he's more talented than nadal and coria, but those two players are mentally stronger.
This match reminded me so much of the match against Hewitt in Oz. He had so many chances, but he just didin't capitalise on them. Soderling played well and served very well, however I feel that if nalbo was only 5% stronger mentally he would have won.
