I think Roddick will get it because it's home turf (I mean clay). But I don't see him striking much fear at RG. That's a different world.

:bigcry: As much as I wanted both of them to win all their matches and MAKE the final... to have them playing AGAINST each other is hard. I guess I can't have it both ways!!

I really do hope that Seb can win this though. He's been one of my favourites for a long time now and he REEEALLY needs this since he has not won a title for so long and has had all kinds of problems in the past year.

GO SEB!!!!!!!!!!
Go Andy!!!!!

I feel badly for people who insist on flogging the same tired joke into the ground, but that's a different matter entirely.

Seb, come back :yeah:

04-24-2005, 03:02 AM
I hope Sebastian or is it Sebastien? Well any who, I wish he won, I like his all court counterpunching style, he's got quite a decent serve for a short guy, well of course for ATP standards. However knowing this matchup its probably going to be Roddick winning either two tough sets or one tough set or tiebreak than Seb takes advantage of Roddicks loss of concentration with Roddick sealing the victory 63 or 64 in the last set, is it a best of 3 or best of 5 match, probably best of 3 since its an equivalent to a tier 3 tournie a la wta.

The clay court god of Houston - Andrew Roddick.

Match reviews subject to change.

If this was real clay, Grosjean would win handily. However, this is Houston-clay which has been rigged so that Andy can win. And win he shall.

saving the descriptions of the respective players, I still don't see where the humour is

I was always told that I was slow when I was young, maybe things haven't changed

The umpire will win especially if it's Norm Cryst.

This is why serious clay court players dont bother to even show up at this lame tournie!

That slippery Frog Grosjean ;)

04-24-2005, 11:51 AM
it's a hard one to call...it won't be an easy match for both of them

04-24-2005, 11:51 AM
voted for seb though

04-24-2005, 12:21 PM
I went with Seb but if Andy wins I wouldn't mind.

04-24-2005, 01:38 PM
Gotta pick A. Roddick

04-24-2005, 02:27 PM
I say Andy will take the title in two close sets -- maybe two tie-breakers. (They're playing two out of three for the final, right?) The kid can play on clay, he just needs more experience and confidence playing on it. A win here in Houston, despite it being at home and not away, should be enough to boost that confidence.

I'd like to see him make it to ATLEAST the Quarters at the French this year. It's very possible. Last year was sickening (literally) as he was sick during his first round and was drained of energy for his second round match (which I believe he lost??) I'm not expecting him to win at RG (ever), but it'd be nice to see him make it past the first or second round.

Good luck to Roddick AND Grosjean -- I'll be happy with either winning.

SEB !!
The wake-up tourney ;)

04-24-2005, 03:39 PM
Yes, he lost in second round last year in the French Open, Palai.

I can't tell who's gonna win because I have no clue of how Seb's playing but as far as I've read Andy's playing quite well so I wouldn't be surprised if he won... besides it's Houston .

No need to tell who I WANT to win :p
