You cannot be serious? Are they really playing? Where? If this is true, J. Mac would kill Serena....that is if her PMS headache doesn't first.

My prediction 6-1, 6-0, J. Mac.

I dont think it would be that easy, a few years ago Yannick Noah beat Justine Henin in 3 close sets.

Fine, 6-1, 6-1. I would be seriously shocked if Mac came close to losing a set to Serena.

If this is really true:

Game, Set, Match McEnroe - 6-2, 6-1 with an ungracious Serena afterwards in the press conference ("I was mentally exhausted/played unprofessionally/I had a migrane")

I don't have any doubt that Johnny Mac could beat Serena easily, but whenever they do these men vs women matches those usually try to even it out by giving the women the doubles alley, the men only 1 serve, etc. Did they do anything like that here or do they figure their age difference is enough of a handicap?

Anyone who knows anything about this game... please let us know!

when/where is this?

and we all know Mac will double bagel her unless he's being generous.

I want to see this match. Hmm...I'm not sure J-Mac will beat Serena that easily...considering the age difference. I want Serena to win though.

Lame. :p

However, I do question why are these men so insecure that they have to open their mouths. Yes, you are stronger, faster, ect...compared to the women so why do you feel the need to go on about it? Does saying this somehow make you feel like, "Mr. Big Stuff"?

If Mac takes the match serious, he'll probably win 6-1 6-1 or something like that.
If not let's hope it's fun to watch ;)

The question was only a hypathetical one at the moment, although there has been talk about it happening from a few sources...

Johnny Mac was asked about that on a sports talk show last year. Bob Costas asked John McEnroe if he would ever consider doing and he said he didn't like the idea, and that he could see the match doing more harm then good for the sport.

I know, will it really take place or did it take place? I havent seen it post at all in the wtaworld. It would be interesting to see the result if both play well, of course Macs volleying skills would surpass anything Ms. Williams could throw at him.

Bah.

Call me biased but you're not giving the reigning Aussie Open champ any credit. Her power would be too much for the old man. He's used to playing with the old guys on Saturday mornings. ;)

maybe if mac was over 65. Anyway this match probably wont happen and even if it did I doubt they would both play at 100%. Matches like this are usually "agreed" to be close.
I recall Borg and Sampras playing a exhibition in the early 90s, that Sampras barely won, yet shortly after that Borg returned to the pro tour and it was a bit of a disaster.
