Italy have a tough tie with Morocco. It jmust still be a question to if ARazi will be fit for the tie and if he isnt it is a massive boost for Italy.
Volandri should beat El Aynaoui right now... and if El Aarej is Morocco's next in line... Volandri and Starace should beat him. It will be tough though.

Group I ties - Latest Results
India secured the vital third point against Uzbeksitan in Jaipur when Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes enjoyed a comfortable win in the doubles rubber. India advances to September's World Group Play-offs, the fifth time in six years that it has gone forward from its zonal group.
Italy took an unassailable 3-0 lead against Morocco on Friday in their Europe/Africa Zone Group I tie to join India, the previously-qualified Germany and Great Britain and the eight losers from February's World Group first round ties in Tuesday's World Group Play-offs draw.
The four remaining places will be determined upon completion of the rest of this weekend's ties.
aaaah why did nenad and dusan loose in the doubles??? i thought we had the doubles in the bag.... still a very impressive play from novak yesterday, its a shame the match had to be interrupted! also, well done to janko, im really impressed how he never gave up, and turned things around in the 3rd set. upornost se isplati.

yup you are right...but im sure janko must have been too tired after fridays 5 set match to play doubles next day... and then play today again...that would mean playing every day, 3 days in a row which would probably prove to be too much for him...
i watched like half of the match on tv here and i like the way he smiled ironically whenevr his ball just would not go over the net or in the court. i hope his persistnace in the match proves to everyone here that he is worth something

As it stands, Great Britain are going to be 9th best out of the 16 nations (based on the rankings) going into the World Group play-offs. Is the rankings list likely to be updated before the draw?
I hope so because otherwise we are going to be unseeded!! :sobbing: Also, is the seeding based on other circumstances apart from ranking e.g. players taking part etc?

it's really heartbreaking to see him this sad. He's only 17, he had a good chance against Olivier on friday, but he was just nervous today. I don't see him as a reason for a loss. It's all Vemic fault really. He's 29 he should know how to play doubles really. He was just rushing and standing to close to the net. Zimonjic had to do all the job, and you can't play doubles with one player only. This was a good chance for us to progress. But if you count the duration of the matches :o

Nole didnt play bad...but that belgium guy was just too good... he won all the important points.... anyway like you guys said, nole is only 17 so this is after all a great sucess, its like janko said 'he's 17 so no one will dare say anything to him' and hes right. but seriously my repsect for janko has risen like so much, most of the people here diss him and say he is big headed and stuff, but i just love the way he played those 2 matches... he showed he is a pro. and i liked his reaction at the end of the match he like buried his face in his hands as if he couldnt believe the match is finally over, it looked like he would collapse right there on the court, im surprised he found the strength to walk off the court.
and yeah i cant help thinking it is dusan who messed up, janko and nenad did their bit... but they are a team so we shouldnt really pick out individuals...and plus im sure dusan tried his hardest. just like they all did. but i really dont think there is any cause to be pissed off, we kept our place in the 1st group and next year we have a chance to maybe progress...so i think the davis cup this year for serbia & montenegro has been quite a success

I don't think I remember anyone calling Janko "big-headed." Or maybe I just choose to ignore it :). I met Janko in 2003 during his week at the Torrance Challenger and I had not met a nicer 19 year old. I guess he could have changed since then  . After all, he may just realize that he's the handsomest boy on the pro tour  .
I didn't realize till I was looking at the score again that Janko had come from 2 sets down  . That may have been his first 5 set match  . Janko did himself and his team proud over the weekend :yeah: .

well the people HERE in belgrade, especially the guys dont really have that much nice stuff to say about him. but they dont really comment on his game as much as they like to say stuff about having a bit of an attitude problem. but then i guess it must be jealousy at least to a point... i must say that when i saw him from far watching a match here he did maybe seem a bit stuck up...but then again i didnt meet him like you did so of course i shouldnt judge.... im sure he must be a nice guy :) after all he is a)the best tennis player we have b) good looking - so theres bound to be people talking crap.
