I also thought that when seeing the draw, but after seeing the 3 matches of the kid, Ive changed my mind. Hes on BRUTAL shape.

I haven't seen any of the matches so far, so I won't get my hopes up.

I refuse. I like to be pleasantly surprised. This draw stinks. Couldn't he have another shot at Ferrero instead? ;)

Honestly, I think hes the slightly favourite in his part of the draw to reach the finals.

Over Fed?!

I disagree ;)

You're just being nice and not trying to jinx him. If he defeats Gaudio, which is his main opponent, he's likely to give Federer real trouble, I wouldn't doubt he winning in straights sets at all. However, if he loses to Gaudio, then I think Federer is the favorite to reach the finals. Assuming he'll defeat Gasquet, which is not a lock.

BTW, I expected a tougher match from Rochus, but Nadal has been on fire these days. I don't think he has lost more than 10-15 games in this tournament so far.

Yes I know you would ;) , but I think Nadal will take Roger, I have more doubts about Gaudio.

Rochus played well, he simply found a typhoon at the other side of the net. ;)

No. I don't believe that I have the power to jinx somebody based on what I write on a messageboard ;)

I'm being quite honest in my assessment. Nadal is by no means a favourite to beat Federer. I don't care what the surface is, and I don't care if he "almost" beat him a couple weeks ago. Federer is still the best player in the world, and by some margin.

You're entitled to disagree, of course. That's just how I see it ;)

I think youre missing my point. Im no way saying Nadal is a better player than Federer is. Im saying I think hes favourite to win against him if they play on Saturday. Its all about match-ups and current form. I think Nadal is a bad match-up for Federer, hes in form of his life and if they play against each other in 2 days, conditions will make that match-up harder for Roger.

I understand you. I just think that hypothetically, Federer would find a way to win.

Oh, ok then. I just hope it happens exactly like you think if they do meet each other. :)

But unfortunately, I agree with Deivid. :(

It was on the cards that it was going to be a Nadal win.

Stop being so negative, Becca.

Nadal's a better player than Gaudio.... miles better in the mental department. He's going to win.

I'm not negative. I evalulated the evidence and was realistic. I never said that Nadal didn't have a hope in Hell. I said that I considered Gaudio the slight favourite, more or less. I would not be surprised if Nadal won. I just don't bill him as the heavy favourite.

Realism is not negativity anymore than extreme optimism is little more than delusions.
