Yeah I feel very sorry for them both. I've travelled to tournaments before in a different continent and missed seeing the players I most wanted to see. It's pretty disappointing.... but I'm sure they'll still have a lot of fun though, there's still some great players in the draw.

Hopefully it's just a precautionary withdrawal because of a small injury... no sense risking anything with his recent history of injury problems. I can't believe it can be too serious....

Do not worry about me - I came here knowing this would happen and I actually could not give a s***. I have felt like this for a while now, - I need a break from spending my life thinking about tennis and specifically about David; I will spend the weekend with my girlfriends, go home on Monday, go back to work and forget about everything for a while. I came here to prove something to myself - as you know I haven't been here for a while - I can't live my life stressing about this kind of thing anymore - I have much more important ortant things to think about. I don't know when or if I will be back here - I somewhat doubt it for lots of reasons - but don' t worry about me, - I"ll be fine.

Take care of yourselves.

Oh Rosie I'm sorry to read your post.

It's definitely not worth stressing out over this stuff too much. Life should be fun, if you can't enjoy following tennis/your faves then it's a good idea to take a step back from it all.... for awhile at least.

I just want to say - I think you're one of the nicest and most interesting posters on MTF. I always miss your contributions.... and your occasional good reps  .... but the most important thing is you take care of yourself and start to feel better about everything.

ok, it's useless of guessing his reason for this withdrawl now. Maybe even not the injury or health problem, coz if it's a normal injury, the news would be more official, and not that mystic. I've just come up with what is a silly theory, but i'm just trying to be positive. He made the QF in Monte-carlo last year and doesn't have alot of points to defend there anyway. I think he's aiming to play at his best in Rome and Hamburg ahead of the French Open, particularly in Hamburg where he could gain alot of points.
With his already fragile body, playing 4 tournaments ahead of the French wouldn't be wise unless he's fully fit.

I tend to agree with you gooner. I think this has to be part of his own plan and that is why nobody is bothering to report his absence. It will be a relief to get confirmation though it's nothing serious. I'm really looking forward to seeing David do battle on the clay courts.
