If Roger Federer did not exist

Then,
Hewitt would still be No.1, probably would have won 2 more slams by now.
Roddick would be 2 time Wimbledon champion :D
Agassi would stil be going strong, would have won lot of tornaments
Safin would have been the most talented player in the world! :)
Ljubicic MIGHT have won 4 tiltles in the space of three months!!

Its very funny when u think of such things. But, I, for one, am happy that Federer DOES exist. He is a fantastic player, very unique and thats why he's so special and admired, cause he plays tennis in a manner in which it was never played before! He is a boon to all juniors and future generations.

I think Hewitt's the same as in '01-'02. I think perhaps he was stronger then than he is now. He had the intangible of opponent's fear going for him that is completely missing now, which of course helped his confidence and level of play.

The only player with whom his mental strengths seem to slip are against Federer.....against anyone else, he's still just as solid and fearless as he was back in his number1 days

off topic!!!!!!! but just in response to tennischick, No prob gal, its a pleasure! Nonetheless dont worry I am a native spanish speaker because I was born to spanish speaking parent and born in a spanish speaking country. Anyways the subjunctive is terrible I cant my self recognize it I just know whats right from wrong I never really was instructed proper spanish grammar in a traditional spanish speaking grammar school. I was raised in the U.S and went to both grade school and middle school in the U.S well from Kindergarten throgh 5th grade by this time all my spanish speaking peers would have already learned their grammar and have it engraved by this time. Nonetheless its no biggie Tennischick, thats my point, I mean try making me get the subjunctive correctly written and used in French when under pressure, or the passe compose at times(and its rather simple) or the plus que perfect or passe du subjonctif oh lord it gives me nightmares thinking about it. Lets not even go to the Dativ with German that one still haunts me and its why I gave up on German for the moment, the Akusativ is ok and so is the genetiv and the perfekt those gegangens and gelessens arent too bad! lol off topic warning!!!! :wavey: :wavey:

the subjunctive should be banned. too bad Amanda isn't in charge of languages ;)

i have a request. please double-check my Spanish on someting for me. i just wrote a sign for the waiting-room and it is supposed to say: "please ring the bell to let your therapist know that you are here". then i decided to go brave and write it in Spanish as well and this is what i came up with: "por favor toque la campana para que su terapista sepa que esta aqui. gracias."

corrections please ;)

And to stay ON TOPIC, if there were no Roger Federer, I would have forgotten all about these famous words from a TV show I watched when I was a little kid ...

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!

Tennischick not bad at all, its not perfect and I am sure any of the other native spanish speakers can have a better correction than mine, but "por favor toque el timbre para que su terapista sepa que usted esta aqui" you missed the direct object "you" usted, otherwise it sounds pretty good to me, I believe timbre is a better translation for doorbell than campana, because campana really translates to bell, like those on a cathedral. I can see you've been taking you're spanish quite seriously good for you. In my opinion grammar should be banned overall lol. ;) ;) :wavey:

Mitadilas je suis d'accord avec votre reponse! I think Mark was playing rather well in 03 on grass, unfortunately he ran into an even hotter Federer. Hewitt's won before at the all england club, granted he beat no true grass court players or big servers with decent volleys in 02 but hes always up for a challenge even on grass, heck in any surface I would say.

Hewitt's competitive spirit can never be taken lightly.

In fact, if there's another thread to create the best possible player, I'd choose Hewitt's fighting spirit as that particular superlative attribute.
