:) Hi everyone! We can cheer on ROGI in MC here! Let's hope he can do reasonably well cos as Moya said "HE who wins MC, wins RG!"... and Carlos, Guga and Juanqui all did! [Guille won MC but did NOT win RG... ]

ALLEZ, ROGI!!! ;)

No points to defend for Rogi this year! He could theoretically surpass the 7000 point mark!

ATP Statements on Death of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III of Monaco

Roger Federer, World No. 1: "I want to express my deepest condolences to the royal family and the people of Monaco. I remember how much Prince Rainier III embraced the tournament. It will be difficult to play there at this time, but we will do so to honor the Prince, the royal family and the people of Monaco."

Mark Miles, ATP Chief Executive Officer: "Today is a sad day for the ATP and men’s tennis due to the passing of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III of Monaco. As the base of our European Headquarters and one of the world’s greatest tournaments, the Monte-Carlo Masters, Monaco is our home. Prince Rainier was a loyal and passionate supporter of professional men’s tennis, and that’s certainly also true of his son and successor, H.S.H. Prince Albert. I join the players, tournaments and staff of the ATP in extending my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the royal family."

Horst Klosterkemper, ATP Managing Director Europe: “We are deeply grieved at the passing away of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III of Monaco and would like to extend our condolences to H.S.H. Prince Albert and his family. Monaco is a very special place for the ATP; we have had our European base here since 1990 and have had great support from the Grimaldi family for one-and-a-half decades. The ATP joins the world in mourning this significant loss today."

If he'd not messed up his mp against Safin he'd already have 7000 points.

Are we sure he's gonna play? I'm still quite nervous that he might not, despite the ATP press release.

sorry, silvy, I couldn't find your thread! are there many posts there?

no reason for Rogi NOT to play MC, as it's the only tourney he plays this month before Roma [which I think he s skip... blah!] and Hamburg where he has a title to defend yet again.

The last 2 years Roger played the Davis Cup after Miami. This year he has a week off after Miami so he will almost certainly play Monte Carlo IMO. I would be disappointed if he wouldn't. He has to take RG seriously and play at least 3 tournaments in preparation.
