Think Safin is one of the few guys in the ATP that can possibly beat roger.

How well do u think fed's will do in Roland Garros?

i think roger will continue to do fine against safin, he came really close to winning in australia and has beaten him many times before. as for RG i hope he does well, i'll be happy with him making the 2nd week.

Well, I would say everyone's got at least a chance to beat Roger, not only Safin.

It is almost up to Roger's condition, like how close to his best form he is at on the court at the moment. If he doesn't play superbly as usual, and the opponent plays his best, a sensational upset can take place (a good example of this is the match at Olympics vs Berdych.). Moverover, close matches go either way. Think how often Roger has survived in a tight match where he was one or two points away from losing. The recent tight matches include the latest one vs Nadal, matches vs Ljubicic, and the first two rounds in Dubai. JC. Ferrero had a couple of match points in Dubai, didn't he? So did Roger in Melbourne vs Safin (a match point in 4th set). It could have gone for Roger at AO actually...

Well, it is true that it is Roger's strength that he wins those tight matches, and it was Safin's strength that he didn't let Roger take his only match point, and Safin eventually won the match...

at RG,,, I don't know how great Safin is on clay, but he's been not very good since winning AO, if he fails to find his best form between now and May, he is not going to be a dangerous factor for Roger. There are others who can possiblly upset the world no.1 in Paris like Spaniards, players from Argentina, and,,,,, Guga (he is back!!) Roger is great on every surface, but I have the feeling that clay is his least favorite. Sure Roger will enter RG as the most likely one to win through till the top, and I both think and want him to win!! But, if someone sends him packing, it is not going to be Safin.

This was my personal opinion,,,, but we never know the future.

If Federer and Safin play each other in Paris, I'll be very pleased indeed, because it would mean they would both have made the semis, or even the final if Marat is in the bottom half of the draw.

I'm not sure who I'd expect to win; hasn't Roger won their previous encounters on clay (DC and Hamburg final)? I'd like to see them play before Roland Garros, possibly in MC or better still in Rome (since I have tix).
