And even on paper Federer will stroll this match something like 6-2 6-3 based upon the most recent h2h records...

LOL, please tell me that this was an April's fool joke :rolls: wow, why does any player make any effort winning matches in a tournament that Federer plays, at some later stages they will lose to him anyway :p

I thought Dent was going to punk out and retire against Andre for the third time... :o

sigh, how much would I love Andre making one great run in Miami... but realistically, I just can't see it happening at the moment with Federer in the way. But how much would I like to be proven wrong...

Q. You play either Agassi or Dent next. I know you've played Agassi a lot. You never played Dent. Can you talk about the prospect of playing each.
ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, what can I say? Dent, I've known him since junior times. I lost to him one time there on grass. I think that's the only time we really played.
Now, you know, I've seen him, the way he was been playing over the years, you know, so it's nice to see that he's really playing well and beating good players. I definitely give him a chance against Agassi tonight.
For me, Agassi is the favorite. He loves this tournament. He's won it many, many times. If I play Agassi, of course, that's also a tough match, just him ‑‑ playing him here, it's almost, maybe, probably his favorite tournament, the tournament he won the most. So it will be a tough match, but really looking forward to that, if it happens.

Typical Denthead, things don't go his way and he implodes.
True. And that's unfortunate.

I can't believe that Dent broke Agassi 2 times in that first set. Then Dent himself got broken for the 3rd time in the set and it was all over after that. Up to that point, he was volleying pretty well and rallying quite decently.

Just as I said two days ago, he double faults at an incredible rate. Taylor needs to completely redesign his serve or at least modifiy it by using better spins and speeds, his % is extremely low overall. And his second serve attempts are ridiculous, he never wins even half of them so I don't see why he keeps going bigger and bigger.
His feel of the game lets him down too, he comes in a lot when it's inappropriate and gifts opponents easy holds too much. There's so much tightening up to do in his game.

Dent lost it after the bad line call woula put him up 1-0 in the 2nd set. Pure bullcrap. Gotta believe the ump's are in on the match wanting the crowd favorite to pull through. Dent's serve was bombing. After that BS, Dent pretty much said screw it, there's no way to win.
Andre was moving him and around and he got the heel thing. ESPN just kept on talking right over that when he was getting it sorted out with the medical dude.
F'n ESPN. Enough already.
Props to Dre. You're gonna get smoked. You better take at least a set off of Federer on your best surface. If you don't you should retire because you're never going to win a slam or become close to the top 5 if you lost this in straight sets.
