Friday 1 April - Miami

Where are you guys going to be sticking your money for Friday's play?

I'm going to pile into a Nadal win over Ferrer, but am looking for ideas to add a bit of value to that, because by itself, at 4/11, it's not too tempting.

I just saw the Fed vs Henman match, and Federer was fantastic. Henman did actually play well, despite the scoreline, but just didn't have enough to hurt Fed. The scary thing is, you feel that he's only playing at about 80%. So, I'd definitely back Federer over the winner of Agassi and Dent, but can't see there being any value in that at all.

When everybody's bookies update their lines for tomorrow's play, any tips or views would be much appreciated.

Also, if you feel comfortable with it, would you mind stating exactly how much money you're going to back a bet with, so it gives us some idea of how serious you are about it.

I'm thinking of backing Nadal to win 2-0, he's only dropped 1 set so far this tourny, that to Ljubicic and I don't see Ferrer having too many weapons to hurt him the way Rafa is playing. Federer will most probably beat Agassi/Dent but he'll be 1.2 max against Andre and 1.14 max against Dent so I'd leave it alone. I fancy Sharapova to beat either Clijsters/Mauresmo in the womens final, might put it in a double with Nadal to win 2-0. Not sure about the stake, I'll wait and see prices first.

I hope KIM kills SHUT-U-POVA

you can hope but she'll lose. I'm a kimmy fan and she'll keep it close but damn venus played as well as i've seen her play since shes come on tour and sharapova was all over her. Only thing I dont like is mashas having a lil trouble closing matches, hope that doesnt bite her in the ass. I havent seen the odds yet but if they give over 1.55 im over it in a big way.

Rafa to win prolly in a parlay with masha.

and a lil on andre, he loves the tourny and seems to play better with the home crowd then he does on a neutral site plus he loves the night matches.

I think Kim beats Maria, but that's on saturday, right? I think Fed will beat Andre easily again and although I want Nadal to win, I think Ferrer will make it a tougher than expected match, but not sure if I will back him.

I wrote that before Kim demolished Amelie. I'm really not sure who I think will win now, I think I still give the edge to Sharapova, as much as I'd like Kim to win

I think kims destruction of mauresmo was a great thing from a betting stand point hopefully it draws in bets on kim and makes bookies lower her stakes and up mashas. Kims had a relatively easy draw in the last 2 tournies, yes she beat number 1 and 2 but her history shows she owns those players, all that means is shes back in solid form. To see if shes in top form I would've wanted to see her against venus, serena or even justine, players she generally has trouble with. Mashas on a mission, im fairly confident especially with her play against venus that she'll win

Sharapova is 2.00 to beat Kim, with Kim at 1.72 with my bookie (William Hill).

Sharapova is a very tempting price, especially after seeing her performance against Venus. She was unstoppable.

Do you guys think Sharapova will win it?

However, the 1.11 being offered for Fed to beat Agassi isn't going to tempt me, I'm afraid. Maybe somebody would be by the high odds on Agassi? About 6.5 I think.

And ugh! Nadal's price keeps dropping. Last night he was 1.36, and now he's 1.22.

Odds on Masha are tempting - if her service will be work like yesterday then she is able to win this one.

Backing a player who should HAVE been beaten already against X-man..not a wise idea

If you think Nadal wins this match 77 times out of every 100 times played, then he's a good bet at those odds. I don't think his advantage is that high, I'd say 65-35ish and therefore, I took the value gambler with Ferrer.

Ah I'm so confused as to where to stick my money.

I really think that Nadal is going to win, and just because his odds are low and Ferrer's are relatively high, I don't think I'm therefore going to swing on Ferrer.

Sharapova's just gone down to 2.2 on Will Hill, which is all good, as I am going to back her hard. She was quality against Venus.

But I do feel like a bet tonight... just for the excitement as much as anything. Well, I would like some $$$!

So MAYBE a small risk on Ferrer, or MAYBE Nadal to win in straight sets. Ahhhh I don't know!

Bad Gambler etc... why don't you back Ferrer to win in straight sets, and maybe put a small hedge on him to win 2-1, just to cover yourself?

Or are you just waiting for in-running to see what happens?

Jesus why are people backing Ferrer. Absolutely no chance against Rafa in red hot form.

2 doubles for me, and a single

1st double - Rafa to win 2-0, Federer to win 2-1 (I think Roger will win 2-0 but 1.25 is ridiculous odds, 6.00 on 2-1 is a lot better value)

2nd double - Bigger stake, Rafa to win 2-0 and Sharapova to win

Single - Huge stake on Rafa -4 games

It's safe to say I'm relying on the young Spanish prince

Is the -4 games from Bet365? If so, I don't like the handicap bets there where if it lands on the exact number, you lose.

Yeah its at bet365. I always put a bit on the tie anyway, I've got £1500 on Nadal -4 at 1.90, so I put £150 on the tie at 8.00. I'm hugely convinced Rafa will win easily. :D
