Nalbandian : liver disease

03-28-2005, 04:14 AM

from ESPN spanish web site.

"No me molesta para jugar, pero hay días que no me levanto bien", reconoció y aclaró: "es una hepatitis o algo así".

"It doesn't bother me to play but there are days i wake up feeling not good", he acknowledged and added: "it's hepatits or something like that"

Thats not a disease, thats a virus. Oh no :( What kind of Hepetitis??? Has he had his immunization?? Not all Hepetitis Viruses affect the liver.

I've heard from a friend in Argentina that there's a Hepititis epidemic in Argentina right now. Several of her family members had mild cases recently but all recovered quickly. Hopefully, he also has a mild case and can take care of it through diet as her family did.

03-28-2005, 06:32 AM
 is it true? :bigcry:

03-28-2005, 06:35 AM

03-28-2005, 10:02 AM
:( nah....

He played so terribly today, and also the match lost to Kiefer in IW. I hope this hepatitse is not true. It's not a joke to play with such kind of disease in hot humid weather. I hope it's only the normal discomfort. :(

"Things didn't come out as I expected them, I have to take it like that and keep working", said the Argentine, who didn't want to use as an excuse the hepatic bothering that causes him pain since Indian Wells. "The doctor said that the symptoms are like the hepatitis, but that's not what I have, otherwise I wouldn't be able to play. They have to keep making tests on me." The day before yesterday, Guillermo Coria had stomach pains when he drank a drink called Recuperation. And the cordobes himself had had gastric problems the week before the Davis Cup. David will analize if he comes back to Argentina. He return to the circuit will be in Monte Carlo, in the clay tournament that will start on April 11th.

"I think the first set didn't have a continuity, but I was 5-3, break up and playing well. Then I played a game too well and he kept on fighting and that's way we made it to the tie break. From then on he played very well, I started fading out and he took the 3-0 advantage very quickly".

"I didn't play well, especially with my backhand, with which I usually find angles, today I couldn't play what I wanted. Even if I didn't serve bad the first, with the second I made a lot of double faults, because with a guy that returns very well you push your service a bit more. I couldn't find a way to get him out of the angle and I think there's where I had the most problems".

"He's a very fast player that defends well, but there were a lot of points I missed out of bad luck, especially in the second set. I attacked him a lot of times, I went to the net, he vollyed from the other side andhe comes runnung with a passing shot on the line, in the other one he guesses a winner, that's it. I think that if it wasn't like that, the result could have been another one", regrets Nalbandian, and added: "In the second set I tried to make some variations, play higher, slice, but he resolved every difficulty I tried to put him. When you have to analize, at least I tried every variant. To sum it up: he played better than me".

"I have a problem in my liver which sometimes makes me wake up dizzy, because of that I made some analysis in Buenos Aires, but that problem didn't affect me at all today".

No matter what affects you David, get well soon! :)

David is definitely not getting the breaks and hope he can recover from this soon and this goes some way to explaining some of his performances of late.

Get well soon.
