Think I might have actually signed up here before covers, not sure....

its.like.that : not sold on the eagles at the moment, I tipped them to win but not putting any money on them. At the same odds pretty much probably think Carlton would be a little bit safer of a bet

gmanea i'm thinking of hitting the blues at the 10.5 start against the roos - think it's the play or should i settle for the ML?

gmanea
03-26-2005, 12:13 AM
Main thing I'm thinking this game is 'Roos forward line looks pretty good and they were not too bad in the wizard cup before being knocked off by WCE. Don't like laying 10.5 points when I'm not so confident on it early in the season... Must say I like Blues -10.5 better than North +10.5. Personally I'm taking Blues ML, but also have a small amount on the -10.5 but in a parlay to win big $$$ with brisbane, geelong, port, melbourne and eagles.

gmanea
03-26-2005, 12:22 AM
Witnall will spend a bit of time up the back half I think today, Blues don't have enough height in defense against big roos forward line.

The road trip's a killer but Geelong are playing awesome right now.

I also think:

- Adelaide over Collingwood at $1.90

I like blues over dons tonight, although carlton have a cpl of key defenders out, the dons dont have Lloyd, if carlton keep both fev and whitnal down forward and they can make space for fev they should shit it in, however if sheedy cramps the blues forward fifty (like kangas did last week) then we might see a dons victory

I like saints against fremantle, fremantle generally dont preform well away from home, saint lost last weekend against lions and i expect them to bounce back with a win. I will wait until just before match to bet on the match because i dont like saint playing in tassie. other matches, i like collingwood but you never know which adelaide team or collingwood team will turns up, last week collingwood decided to go to sleep in fourth quartor n killed my bank, no play for me.

so we on the pies or crows?

too many injuries for the pies for me to be confident, crows played well and were unlucky to lose to the eagles

so i'm leanign towards the crows to win

Round 3

A saturday afternoon parlay is the blues x saints = $2.30

Blues are in fine form at the moment, both the pre season and the start of the official season. With whitnall and fevola dominating the forward line they can rack up a score especially if their efficient midfield continue to provide good supply. Oh yeah it helps when they are up against a shithouse team struggling for both form and confidence!

Saints are back at the telstra dome where their record is incredible. The smaller ground suits tem to a tee, and i can really see their young and quick midfield giving the kanagas some serious grief today. If past history of the two teams is to go by, this could be a blowout with their last two wins coming by around 8 goals. Look for the saints forward set up of milne, G-train and Hamill causing havoc for colbert and co at the back. Too much talent for me, should be an easy win

Port shouldn't be a problem, just a bit worried about Richmond. Godd odds though.

easy...

in the market betting you will see the two teams quoted price for a both a win and a start. A win, well that's fairly obvious, but line is with points start e.g. today st kilda were given a -18 point start meaning they need to win by more than 18 points for you to win your bet.

However when we refer to something as the "line" we refer to both what the ods are for a win (money line) and start. :)

i think you will be ok with port but think bulldogs have a great chance to win - they have shown impressive form in the preseason and start of the regular season

sunday afternoon ML parlay as follows....

port adelaide x essendon = $1.90

gmanea
04-14-2005, 10:35 AM
Selection Units Odds Bookie
Kangaroos -7.5 4 units $1.90 (-111) Bet365
Geelong -15.5 4 units $1.90 (-111) Bet365

Kangaroos/Collingwood
This is the first game of the season the Kangaroos are favoured, and deservingly so. The Kangaroos have won all three of their games this season straight up against Carlton, Sydney and St.Kilda. This match should be a good one but Kangaroos are good at shutting down key forwards, this will be important because Collingwood rely heavily on the likes of Rocca and Tarrant to kick their goals. Collingwood will be full of confidence after their come from behind victory against Carlton last week but will face a greater challenge this week against the 'Roos. Kangaroos to win by about 18 points.
4 units on Kangaroos -7.5

Hawthorn/Brisbane game
Brisbane should win this one but too hard to say if they can cover the large spread on the road with so many injuries. Hawthorn could have some fight in them desperate for first win of the season after a dubious 2 point loss to Essendon last week.
No play.

West Coast/Western Bulldogs
I have no doubt in my mind West Coast will continue their unbeaten record this weekend, at home playing the bulldogs. ~37.5 points is a big margin to cover against the Bulldogs who can turn a game into an ugly scrap. Considered adding the ML into a parlay but $1.13 or so there simply isn't enough value to consider it.
No play.

Geelong/Essendon
Originally had decided to stay away from this game but the more I have looked into it the more I decided it should be a play. Essendon have had an ordinary start to the year as expected and only won last week against Hawthorn on a decision that the AFL conceded during the week shouldn't have been paid, resulting in the winning goal. Matthew Lloyd is back for the 'dons but didn't have much of a showing last week and things are not going to get any easier against All Australian fullback Matthew Scarlett. Geelong copped a hiding last week against the most in form side, I think they will bounce back and put Essendon in their place with a 30 point victory.
4 units on Geelong -15.5

Port Adelaide/Carlton
I consider this a match best to stay away from. Port Adelaide are only favoured because they won last year's premiership and they are at home. Their form this year does not warrant them to be such strong favourites. Carlton have shown pre-season that they can play football but we havn't seen much of it this year. I am tipping Port Adelaide to win but definitely not laying any money on this game. Would have taken Carlton with the points but with key injuries to Camporeale and Prendergast I have decided to stay away.
No play.

Honestly i think the 1.25+ for Nadal is better than the 1.25+ for Saints - theres been so many upsets this season in the AFL - and Richmond arent as bad as last yr

However i might play this live and if saints are down by 2 or so at qtr time and the price drifts a bit, ill prob take it - but for now its a no bet
