Here you can share your thoughts of what is your best gambling strategy? Do you hit the singles, play the parlays and are you one for value or like to build the bank by playing it safe with the short odd fav's etc etc

And is the strategy different depending on the sport you bet on?

I'd be interested to know what works for you guys as we all would have different approaches :)

Just remember this is my show. If you mess with the bro, you just got to go.

Tennis - Used to do 5/6 people accumulaters. Changed about a year ago to mainly doubles/trebles with high stakes, usually don't include a player if they're under 1.16, i like having people around the 1.4/1.5 mark. If I find a bit of value on someone around 1.83-evens i'll usually put it in a double with someone around the 1.4/1.5 mark. It's been making me a killing.

Soccer - Never do more than a double. Once you do 3 or more manages, 1 of them is bound to end up in a draw.

Basketball/Baseball/US Football/Ice Hockey - Left well alone, limited knowledge.

Cricket - I like betting on highest run scorer, rarely bet on the outcome of a test unless I see good value, 1 days are great to bet on though.

Rugby League/Union - I do enjoy my bets on these. Usually just take certain teams to win but there's sometimes good value in the handicap betting.

95% of my bets - tennis (both ATP and WTA)
mainly single and value, but I work with one system based on picks with favs (about 1.20 - 1.60)

here You are short desciption (post #44) (

other sports (soccer, basketball, ice hockey) only for fun

Basketball and American Football-I usually bet a game straight up for the game and the first half. Then if my team is ahead at the half, I will go for a middle at HT. For instane, a nickel on Den -5 for first half, Den -9 for game. If Denver is up by, say, 10 at halftime, I've won a nickel already and just eat the vig, which is usually low at Pinnacle and take the 2nd half line for a middle. Say Denver is favored by -3.5 for 2nd half, I'll take LA +3.5 and hope Denver wins 10,11,12, or 13 to win a dime or a nickel if MOV is exactly 9. Anything else, I just eat the juice.

Baseball-Singles mostly and round robins with underdogs I like.

Tennis-Same as baseball.

Boxing-Probably my largest stakes, though not my most knowledgable. Watch every big fight and usually with tons of gamblers, so it's more fun when you got big money on a fight ;)

Horses-Varies, sometimes I go to track or OTB just to screw around and sometimes I bet larger.

Futures-Will throw down a deuce or around there on longshots, as long as payout is a nice chunk. Don't mind taking shots with gut feelings with small stakes.
I've been on a bad run last 3 weeks, so I've been doing a lot more parlays like a retard, but hopefully, I can hit a nice one soon. :)

I bet the following ranked in order of which I make the most money...

NFL football, singles parlays, over/under I do it all. I've learned thru trial and error that moneyline is the best way to bet for me on the singles and parlays, but I will do large point teasers, and I keep ml parlays to 3 teams max. I usually bet big on them as well, if every punter has his specialty this ones mine. In the last 3 seasons including playoffs I can count one hand the number of losing weekends i've had. I don't stick to favorites I tend to look for value, wish football ran year round.

Tennis - I also do quite well in tennis, I do singles where I tend to go for dogs or if I see value in 1.5 plus. I wont touch lower than that unless its to sweeten up a parlay, I play parlays regularely and try to keep them small 3 and less but will once and a while go for some larger ones and back them with wta favorites just to bump up the values. I try not to look at my tennis bank week to week but more like quarterly as with large bets and betting dogs if I have a couple bad weeks in a row the bank can look ugly but then it only takes me a couple good days to make up a couple bad weeks. My styles not for everybody. I also have a bad habit of chasing losses in tennis by making parlays and backing them very heavy but on favorites to end the day well, its bit me a few times but more times than not it recoups a bit. Have to stop doing that lol but did it today :p

basketball, very rarely do singles, usually a parlay of 2 to 4 teams. I find that homecourt means more in bball than in any other sport so I will back what I believe are locks, I dont look for values most of the odds I get are pretty low as they are heavy favorites but with parlaying them they get a decent return. Dont really like this approach in tennis but works well in bball, tennis is just to iffy with possible injuries etc to bank a lot on a favorite but a team makes it safer.

Hockey and baseball I bet only during playoffs, terrible for betting regular season in my opinion. And only singles, and winners for each series.

boxing I dont trust, cricket I dont understand, soccer I bet terribly, and golf is not made for betting so I think thats about it.

My strategy has always been to play the high singles first and foremost, anything over 1.60+

with tennis i play a lot of parlays but in other sports usually play the HC which gives me around $1.90 each time

main sports for me is bball and tennis but am into my footy codes as well

can never hit on the baseball though - just seems too much of a lottery for me
