Don't kill me, but I just rented "Wimbledon" and I liked it :o
I also saw another movie last monday, it was called "Suspect Zero". It was good, but not the best ever.
What can you recommend me to watch?

I'm not sure if you have the movie Mule Skinner Blues. It's a independant movie but I LOVE it. It's so worth watching.

I liked Kill Bill and Kill Bill 2.....and if you want to go into the archives....I love Rocky Horror Picture Show and This is Spinal Tap....Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show were great too.

Everyone thinks I have bad taste in movies though :p
A girl I work with just watched "Saw" and was terrified so if you like to be scared you could check that out.

I've heard a lot about that movie, but I've never seen it! I have to put it in my Must See list :)
One of the old ones I like is The Silence of the Lambs. I loved As Good As it Gets, and from the new ones of Nicholson, I adored Something's gotta Give!

AS GOOD AS IT GETS is a great recent movie with Jack Nicholson... he is just perfect as Melvin. He was ok in anger management but I hate Adam Sandler and couldn't get past that for the whole movie. :) I loved his role in A FEW GOOD MEN. But my fave Nicholson movie of all-time has to be THE SHINING.

I still want to see MEET THE FOCKERS. Everyone I know hated that first movie, but I thought it was an excellent movie and very funny. But I love lame comedies. :p

Million Dollar Baby and Sideways both got great reviews. But if your boyfriend hated them Claudia, I'm worried these are chick flicks to avoid.

I didn't like part two or the others. I just loved the way Sarah Michelle Gellar played her character. She was the classic bitch-even down to the uniform. It just wasn't as good without her, Reese, Ryan, and Selma Blair.

Yeah the sequels really sucked.

Does anyone else love the die hard movies here? All three films are action classics IMHO. :D

And being a Bruce Willis fan these are also great movies:

Unbreakable (A++)
The Sixth Sense (A++)
Armageddon (B+)
Mercury Rising (A+++)
The Whole Ten Yards (B- controversial, it got the worst reviews EVER)

okay....if you want to laugh, i recommend you ''the reporter'' with will ferrell, the other day i rented ''envy'' (ben stiller and jack black), not a lot of laughs but it's okay....and if you like the classic romantic movies you can see ''titanic''...or ''the karate kid''...you know.....and wimbledon.......what can i say....just one thing..why did the ball looked so crappy?, couldn't they make it look a little bit realistic..just a little.....

I agree with on both counts. Dumb & dumber is the daddy of all comedies...

On women:
Harry: Yea, I called her up. She gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her enough or something. I don't know I wasn't really paying attention.

Or when a cute woman walks past in Aspen:
Harry: Holy geez, look at the butt on that!
Lloyd: Yeeh, he must workout.

Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas: Why ya goin' to the airport? Flyin' somewhere?
Lauren Holly as Mary Swanson: How'd you guess?
Lloyd: Well, I saw your luggage, and when I saw the airline ticket I put two and two together.

Lloyd: So where ya headed?

How does an Argentine commit suicide?
He jumps off his ego.

How do you recognise an Argentine spy?
From the sign on her back that says "I am the greatest spy in the world!"

A man meets an Argentine on the street and asks him for a light. The Argentine starts patting his pants, chest and seat pockets. "Sorry," he says. "I can't find my lighter - but man, do I have a great body!!!"

I tend to avoid subtitles...I've always thought you're missing sthg when you read them while you're watching.
Where did I hear that one before? Most of the frenchies think so, but I think it's because you are not used to it. In France everything is movie is dubbed. It's horrible! I grew up with subtitels and I don't miss anything when I watch a movie. I am sure it's the same for Jud.

I love sub-titles...especially French movies...I recently went to see "A Very Long Engagament"...such a lovely movie...I usually end up going home and speaking a few new words in French to my Dad, which of course pleases him.

Can't remember the last time I went to the movie...it's gotten so expensive around here. I mean, the price you have to pay to see only a movie is totally irrelevant. Knowing that if you add a little more, you can have it on dvd and you can watch it as often as you feel like...without risking sounding silly with your handkerchieves... ;) Joke! :p

BTW, I love this thread, coz i am a big movie fan. And lately, i watched Walter Salles's new masterpiece The Motocycle Diaries, describing the Cubian revolutionist Ernesto Che Guevara's journey when he was young. I love this film very much :yeah:

I liked the movie OK. Eminem did get robbed of the Best Actor Oscar in my opinion. Although his style is abrasive to some, he turned in a hell of a performance in that movie. I did like that "Lose Yourself" got the Oscar nod. Nice touch-compared to the songs that have won it before.

Yeah, it's big, but everything's under control cause we're all friends here :)
Welcome BTW :wavey:
thanks. i'm not into fighting so that is fine with me. ;)

so how is "off-topic" different from "non-tennis"

bovenbuuf

well do think its in some way the same.. difference is that here mostly David and Gaston fans who are posting.

:wavey: Bye Choupinette! I'm a bit late...but I've just come back home from my short afternoon work. Short but totally crazy! Tomorrow's full moon, that's normal...

Yes, here we're all friends and it works like non tennis, except that we're more intimate here. Gaston and David's fans are like a little family... ;)

Hey, in the list of tv shows I loved when I was younger, I forgot the A-Team, Rick Hunter, Chips...

I just found this thread :)

What do say about few of my favourite movies:
Mememto
Fight Club , American History X (I am a big fan of Edward Norten)

I was also a fan of Dallas. J.R. rocks

Because most of us know each other from other boards (such as yahoogroups, etc.), we tend to get chatty, so the non-topic threads are not related to David, while the other stuff is. As Jazz and Choupi said, the Gaudio fans and Nalby fans are like family, and you will see us forum-hopping from time to time.

I have American History X on tape somewhere. It was a good movie-if you can get past some of the prison **** scenes.

A very good sport. Maybe, if we have some web savvy, we could combine the two, with some of the same content. We seem to be a chatty bunch....

Well I finally got around to seeing meet the fockers tonite. It was funny in places but I definitely preferred the first movie.

I agree, the first one was better, but I loved the part where the cat flushed the dog

Speaking of movies I watched the real version of "Insomnia", not the one with Al Pacino and Robin Williams. They really shouldn't be syndicating movies, but that isn't surprising seeing the creative void that is Hollywood.

One of the funniest shows I've seen is "Pumping Iron" that is Arnie at his best.
