Federer or CañasDaniel 03-19-2005, 06:14 AM who do u pick?? :) Fedex 03-19-2005, 06:22 AM Federer. bad gambler 03-19-2005, 06:23 AM hopefully canas tangerine_dream 03-19-2005, 06:27 AM As Bilbo would say: Canas will buy the farm.:) perrygreen 03-19-2005, 06:33 AM Federer will prevail and go on to win the title. I just hope it will be a good match. bad gambler 03-19-2005, 06:35 AM As Bilbo would say: Canas will buy the farm. does he say that? what on earth does that mean?? tangerine_dream 03-19-2005, 06:40 AM does he say that? what on earth does that mean?? Actually, as Bilbo says: Canas is dead as a doornail :) bad gambler 03-19-2005, 06:43 AM Actually, as Bilbo says: Canas is dead as a doornail :) i don;t think he says that either :) more like canas is roasted beef or something like that  foul_dwimmerlaik 03-19-2005, 06:48 AM Federer. As much as I like Canas, he just doesn't have anything to hurt Fed with. Action Jackson 03-19-2005, 06:52 AM Don't care either way, as long whoever wins this match, wins the title. Fumus 03-19-2005, 06:54 AM Canas with an easy win, Roger who? robinhood 03-19-2005, 06:58 AM Federer!!! Does anyone know which semifinals match ESPN is televising on tape-delay tomorrow? If not both, I would assume Roddick-Hewitt one, but just want to make sure. Art&Soul 03-19-2005, 07:50 AM Federer easily then he can chop the Potato or the Duck later :D rwn 03-19-2005, 08:10 AM Big servers like Safin, Roddick or Ljubicic can hurt Roger. Canas can't IMO. Federer in straight sets. bad gambler 03-19-2005, 08:12 AM Big servers like Safin, Roddick or Ljubicic can hurt Roger. what? Action Jackson 03-19-2005, 08:16 AM what? Someone has grand delusions. perrygreen 03-19-2005, 08:19 AM Big servers like Safin, Roddick or Ljubicic can hurt Roger. Canas can't IMO. Federer in straight sets. Purely big servers cannot hurt Federer e.g Roddick & Karlovic. Canas cannot hurt Federer because he is outgunned by Federer in every aspect. So, Federer in 2. Rex 03-19-2005, 08:29 AM goes without saying SuperFurryAnimal 03-19-2005, 08:43 AM Don't care either way, as long whoever wins this match, wins the title. I agree! :yeah: rwn 03-19-2005, 09:01 AM what? I wasn't clear on what I meant, sorry. A big server can control the points on his own service game and keep the match close. Of course he needs more than a big serve to beat Federer. But he at least has a chance. If you get to the tiebreak a lot can happen. I don't think Canas has a realistic chance because Federer will control a lot of the points. yanchr 03-19-2005, 09:25 AM what? I think it can be said this way, a big server is not bound to hurt Roger, but if you want to hurt Roger you must have a big serve. bad gambler 03-19-2005, 09:26 AM but if you want to hurt Roger you must have a big serve. andy roddick Action Jackson 03-19-2005, 09:30 AM Ivo Karlovic has pushed Federer closer than Roddick has recently. As to whether I am joking, it's up to the individual to work it out for themselves. bad gambler 03-19-2005, 09:31 AM Ivo Karlovic has pushed Federer closer than Roddick has recently. As to whether I am joking, it's up to the individual to work it out for themselves. i see you are not joking, and neither am i when i say that Action Jackson 03-19-2005, 09:34 AM i see you are not joking, and neither am i when i say that The reason I put this disclaimer in is I have to clarify these things for the general population. yanchr 03-19-2005, 09:35 AM andy roddick Any contradiction with my statement there? :wavey: bad gambler 03-19-2005, 09:36 AM Any contradiction with my statement there? :wavey: what do you think? :) User ID 4783 03-19-2005, 09:45 AM Hopefully Roger yanchr 03-19-2005, 09:56 AM what do you think? :) Does Roddick have a big serve? Yes. Can he hurt Roger? Yes, he can=a big server can hurt Roger No, he can't=a big server is not bound to hurt Roger So I'm well grounded there ;) rwn 03-19-2005, 10:16 AM andy roddick OK. Andy Roddick wasn't a good example. Still I think Roddick could hurt him if he would be smarter on the court. And if Roger is a little bit off like in last year's Wimbledon final Roddick has a chance. Roddick probably should have won that match IMO. Action Jackson 03-19-2005, 10:19 AM OK. Roddick played near his best and Federer was nowhere near it and look at the end result. What ifs don't cut the mustard I'm sorry. rwn 03-19-2005, 10:50 AM Roddick played near his best and Federer was nowhere near it and look at the end result. What ifs don't cut the mustard I'm sorry. OK. You're right. Sommarsverige 03-19-2005, 11:24 AM Hopefully Willy ;) Mati 03-19-2005, 11:26 AM Hopefully Willy ;) I wish Canas could win but it will not happen. Fergie 03-19-2005, 11:53 AM Rogi in straight sets :yeah: undomiele 03-19-2005, 01:39 PM Is this a trick question? ;) Look at my avatar. (Im sooo happy he made it this far) I won't exactly be able to see the match since I have to host a damn party but Ill try to sneak in and watch bits of it. At least Ill have alcohol on hand either way :p :drink: PaulieM 03-19-2005, 02:29 PM hopefully roger comes out on fire alexito 03-19-2005, 02:53 PM cañas roddick hewitt don't are rival for federer. really boring the tennis. willie 03-19-2005, 03:33 PM Cañas loves to play this times of matches, against the best, in the biggest stadium with alot of people, im sure cañas will play a great match, but is federer's game that will decide another semifinal defeat in a big one in the year or advancing to play once again a final. oneandonlyhsn 03-19-2005, 04:52 PM I have to agree, it all depends on how Roger comes out. From what I have seen of Canas he is a player to be respected and if Roger comes out with the urge to win then I will say Roger. But if Roger is having an off day than anything can happen. Having said that I hope its Rogi in 2 sets. Allez roger oneandonlyhsn 03-19-2005, 04:53 PM cañas roddick hewitt don't are rival for federer. really boring the tennis. Do you have anything remotely intelligent to say   RogiFan88 03-19-2005, 06:04 PM "if Roger comes out with the urge to win " he always does these days Hendu 03-19-2005, 06:12 PM who do u pick?? :) Tha answer is obvious... ;) tangerine_dream 03-19-2005, 08:39 PM OK. You're right. Not exactly. Andy was in the zone during the first half of that match then the rains came and Roger regrouped. Andy didn't regroup and lost his edge. Roger played much better in the third and fourth sets and deservedly won. But even the other players have acknowledged that if the rain delay hadn't happened, there likely would've been a different Wimbledon champion. :) Anyway, if Roger dares to lose a set to Canas today does that mean Roger now sucks on hardcourts and isn't "all that"? (continuing Adam's logical conclusion from another thread.) :p  | |
