Wow, Wayno is looking to break his own record of 111 that he set in 1999. He had to save 5 break points today but now he has qualified for the main draw and we will see how long his streak will go on.

El Legenda 03-11-2005, 12:47 AM Maybe now he can win few matchs...if he can break Scotso 03-11-2005, 01:08 AM He saved 7 break points today. Disappointing result from Brendan, he should have broken him at least once. But with that serve, he SHOULD be holding. Scotso 03-11-2005, 01:09 AM BTW, I guarantee that once he plays a non-headcase top 40 or so player, he will be broken. Smankyou 03-11-2005, 01:20 AM ...if he can break Unlikely. El Legenda 03-11-2005, 01:56 AM I would love to watch Wayno vs Karlovic jole 03-11-2005, 02:02 AM They've got nothing on Dick Norman. Smankyou 03-11-2005, 02:12 AM I would love to watch Wayno vs Karlovic I think I'd cry. vogus 03-11-2005, 03:58 AM Sampey held serve 115 straight times at Wimbly during '00-'01. Auscon 03-11-2005, 04:04 AM ??? Didnt Melzer break his serve once during their singles match in DC Prizeidiot 03-11-2005, 04:19 AM ??? Didnt Melzer break his serve once during their singles match in DC My thoughts exactly Auscon 03-11-2005, 04:27 AM unless for some reason theyve decided that DC doesnt count, you'd think theyd want to get their facts straight for the main news story on the homepage of the tournaments website Chloe le Bopper 03-11-2005, 04:34 AM I think I'd cry. I'd stick a fork in my eye. Bolivero 03-11-2005, 04:41 AM Yes, Melzer broke him when he had 78 straight service games. ;) Smankyou 03-11-2005, 04:42 AM I'd stick a fork in my eye. You win. Generally, I use my cutlery to eat with. Chloe le Bopper 03-11-2005, 04:44 AM You win. Generally, I use my cutlery to eat with. Eating my eye would just be going too far. robinhood 03-11-2005, 04:47 AM Holding serve for that many times and only winning one tournament?? Huh??? I don't get it. Does he lose in the tiebreakers all the time? What's going on? Smankyou 03-11-2005, 04:50 AM Wayno is notorious for taking most of his sets to tie breakers. Big servers generally do that, as it's their only weapon. Action Jackson 03-11-2005, 04:55 AM This would be ideal scenario in the 1st round of a Slam. Wayne Arthurs vs Ivo Karlovic the scores would be 7-6 6-7 7-6 6-7 The last set would be won 45-43 and the winning shot would be a mishit from the returners racquet and it would balloon over the person at the net hitting the baseline anthe sideline for victory. Smankyou 03-11-2005, 04:56 AM Arh! Chloe, pass me that fork! Chloe le Bopper 03-11-2005, 05:28 AM I'm too busy chewing. Adman 03-11-2005, 01:04 PM Lets just hope that Wayne can get over 111! Hopefully. Billabong 03-11-2005, 02:19 PM Eating my eye would just be going too far. This thought is haunting and scaring me:scared::lol: adeegee 03-11-2005, 04:53 PM Holding serve for that many times and only winning one tournament?? Huh??? I don't get it. Does he lose in the tiebreakers all the time? What's going on? He does play a lot of tie breaks but if you think...a 3 set match will probably have about 30 odd games in total. so that's 15 service games for arthurs. multiply that by 5 for the number of matches he played when he won the tournament = 75. then he's also played a couple of quallies at indian wells, takes the total well over 100. obviously its not quite as high as that coz not every match has gone to 3 sets. robinhood 03-11-2005, 07:23 PM He does play a lot of tie breaks but if you think...a 3 set match will probably have about 30 odd games in total. so that's 15 service games for arthurs. multiply that by 5 for the number of matches he played when he won the tournament = 75. then he's also played a couple of quallies at indian wells, takes the total well over 100. obviously its not quite as high as that coz not every match has gone to 3 sets. Okay, it makes more sense now. Thanks for the explanation, Adeegee. Sjengster 03-11-2005, 08:21 PM I'd love to get "Dr" (?) Ivo and Biggus Dickus onto the same court to play each other, tape the match and then strap a WTAWorld member to a chair and force them to watch it on continuous looping feed. In the meantime I'd watch an endless rerun of the Myskina v Serra-Zanetti match from the US Open a couple of years ago as compensation. No, it was 4 dfs by one of the players. RickDaStick 03-11-2005, 09:39 PM This would be ideal scenario in the 1st round of a Slam. While this may seem funny if they did play at lets say Wimbledon there is a chance this actually happens, maybe not 45-43 but certainly somewhere around 25-23 would be very reasonable. Lee 03-12-2005, 03:25 AM Arthurs serving streak continues as he continues to hold all his serve in 6-4 6-3 win vs Starace today. Breaking Starace once in each set. So add another 10 service games. bad gambler 03-12-2005, 03:26 AM tomorrow the record is on the line against andre Levo. 03-12-2005, 04:21 AM  Go Wayneo! Don't get broken!!! :D Prizeidiot 03-12-2005, 04:37 AM Oh.... how ironic... Agassi, the man who destroyed his 111 game streak azza 03-12-2005, 04:38 AM Go Wayne please beat Andre  Bilbo 03-12-2005, 11:23 AM Arthurs will get broken today for sure. He's facing the best return player of all time. Horatio Caine 03-12-2005, 01:06 PM Agassi will rip him a new one  Wayne might last 112 - but I feel Agassi will strike in the first 3 games. He might know that the record is on the line too  adeegee 03-12-2005, 02:12 PM i'm actually tipping wayne to beat andre. i'm not putting money on it but i've got a feeling MrOschie 03-12-2005, 02:20 PM i'm actually tipping wayne to beat andre. i'm not putting money on it but i've got a feeling löl adeegee 03-12-2005, 02:28 PM i'm actually not joking, i think wayne will get very close to andre. no doubt about it, andre is an amazing returner but the way wayne is serving its hard to see andre getting too many chances on the return. i think andre might just nick it in 3 sets, probably a final set tie break, but with wayne's odds as high as they are i'm more than tempted MrOschie 03-12-2005, 02:34 PM don´t think that will happen =) maybe a close game but andre is the winner here for me Jim Jones 03-12-2005, 02:42 PM Is Arthurs then the record holder for services number of services unbroken? adeegee 03-12-2005, 06:33 PM Is Arthurs then the record holder for services number of services unbroken? yep with 111 i think Levo. 03-12-2005, 09:33 PM yep with 111 i think Wimbledon 1999 wasn't it when he set that? And he's on 98 right now? Hmmmm... Versus the best returner in the game, maybe ever? Please do it Wayneo!!! :worship: | |
