[CODE]People!!!! Great news!! Today on the news it was said that Yevgeny will play in Quatar Doha in January 2003! :D That means that he is not going to retire!!! He is still in TENNIS - the best thing in the world!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
hope it's true,I heard on the news that he just said that if they won't win the DC, he will definetely not retire
I understand that he won't play Doha. I don't understand why he signed at all. I mean, a) it's very long season, he needs rest, b) he talks about retirement and c) varicose vein removal surgery will derfinitely put him out for weeks..

Is varicose vein surgery such a serious thing?
Women are usually back on their feet in a week.
But men, as a rule, need more time to recover even from minor sicknesses :D

its a minor op but its pretty discomforting having varicose veins
One of my (girl)friends had that ( varicose vein removal ) surgery. She was not allowed (by doctors) to lift weights, skate, ski for few monthes. Guys, it is foot surgery. It means, he will be out of (any) physical activity for at least few weeks. And early season requires very good conditioning. I would not bet my money on Yevgeny playing Down Under even if he decides to stay for a season.
Zhenya should take a long rest after having the surgery... I will not expect him to play for the next season, but hopefully he will play the Davis Cup for Russia next year again!!! :)
