Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:11 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly Cilla, Leon as is The Professional, with Natalie Portman? Yes, with Natalie Portman-I think she was only 12 when she was in Leon! I have never heard of any of your top 3 Marly :o Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:14 PM Ah, then I love that movie! It's rules. But it's not in my top 3. :p I have never heard of any of your top 3 Marly That's because they're oldies, in black and white. You know, with Clark Gable, Ginger Rogers, etc. Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:16 PM oh "Back in the day" movies Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:19 PM Yup. "Back in the day" movies are the best! :bounce: :bounce: Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:24 PM I think it's about time I watched some BITD Movies-They'll probably..not probably ALWAYS be a BITD Movie on Sunday Afternoon. Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:27 PM Then I highly recommend the three on my list. They're all comedies, and quite funny. Go to the local video store and rent one. ;) Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:33 PM Will do, I don't have an excuse as the video store is about 2 mins away, just like my church :o :p Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:35 PM You can pull a double feature then. :p Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:36 PM LOL!! Yeah a BITD Movie in Church :o :p Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:37 PM Better a BITD movie in church than a current one, like, say, American Pie. :p Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:41 PM Or "Indecent Sexploitation" :o What would the bishop say ;) :p Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:43 PM Don't know much about bishops, but my preacher wouldn't like it much! :o Especially as I'm a VBS teacher, and should be above such things. :o :p Then again, you never know what bishops in America would say, as so many of them seem to be corrupt. Goonergal 07-20-2002, 08:56 PM I know, so I've heard in the news Marly :o Murkofan 07-20-2002, 08:58 PM It's ridiculous, isn't it? And they call themselves men of God. :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: Pardon me for pulling an Ana :p but I think the situation calls for it. :o Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:00 PM Yeah I know itz terrible. What is the latest? I haven't heard much here for a coupla dayz? Murkofan 07-20-2002, 09:10 PM The last big thing I heard was about this big convention a bunch of the bishops or archdiocese or whatever (don't know the terms, sorry) had in Texas. They were going for a "zero tolerance" approach when it comes to priests who abuse children and their superiors who help cover it up. I think what they ended up deciding was to suspend priests who were suspected/proven child molesters but not defrock them. I don't know what's gonna happen in regards to all the lawsuits and stuff that are going on up North. One thing is for sure, none of these guys should be allowed near children again. Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:22 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly One thing is for sure, none of these guys should be allowed near children again. Ditto at that Marly. Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:23 PM I just realised on of my top 3 films "Primal fear" deals with this issue. Murkofan 07-20-2002, 09:27 PM Really? I've never seen it; guess I'll have to go down to the video shop myself! On a mostly unrelated note, the movie "Seven" is really good. Have you seen it? Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:33 PM Yeah, The archbishop is a sexual abuser. I would really recommend it , it is quality It has got the kinda ending that'll shock you for ages. I was still dwelling on it for about a week and a half later   Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:35 PM No, I havent seen 7even yet, I really should've by now :o Have you seen 12 monkeys with Brad and Bruce? Brad Pitt is hillarious in it. Murkofan 07-20-2002, 09:44 PM Haven't seen 12 Monkeys yet. Seven rules, though! Ooh, a movie where you actually think, as opposed to the stupid drivel usually aimed at teenagers? I'm all for it! :bounce: Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:49 PM Me too :bounce: Twelve Monkeys is hella confusing though  I only understood the whole story in the final scenes :o :p I'll go into typical Boy Mode-DIE HARD!!! YEAH!!!! *Boys then proceed to Hi-5 eachother like rejects*:o :p Nah but seriously Die-Hard Rockz 1,2 & 3 Murkofan 07-20-2002, 09:53 PM I've never seen any Die Hards either. I like the first Mission: Impossible, though, and the James Bond movies are cool, even if the women are sooo stupid. If you want to see something funny, watch "In Like Flint" and "Our Man Flint." They're like the original Austin Powers from the '60s; they're horribly cheesy take-offs on the Bond movies starring James Coburn. They give me fits. Angele 07-20-2002, 09:57 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly , as opposed to the stupid drivel usually aimed at teenagers? And on that note :o 1) A walk to Remember 2) Love and Basketball 3) Finding Forrester and Save the Last Dance :) Goonergal 07-20-2002, 09:57 PM I have never fully watched a James bond :o I just can't stand em just like Stars Wars/Trek-sorry Marly ;) Thanx 4 the tip-Speaking of Flint's-"The People Vs Larry Flynt" is excellent I'd recommend that- but the main subject is about *cough* Porn :o but it aint sleazy......Woody Harrelson & Courtney Love a great in it. Murkofan 07-20-2002, 09:59 PM Angele's List: 1) Never seen it. Excellent book, though! It made me cry. :o 2) A big fat PFFFF to that! 3) And two more never seen its. You're such a goober, QG. :p  Angele 07-20-2002, 10:10 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly Angele's List: 1) Never seen it. Excellent book, though! You're such a goober, QG. :p  Pff they're all great movies :D A walk to Remember is great, even though I bawl everytime I see it! it's te ultimate tragic love story! Love and Basketball I'll admit is a tad gooberish :o but it rocks anyway! Save the last dance is awesome and not *too* gooberish. Finding Forrester is excellent and not gooberish at all, you'd like it :p Murkofan 07-20-2002, 10:12 PM A walk to Remember is great, even though I bawl everytime I see it! it's te ultimate tragic love story! Romeo and Juliet.... Goonergal 07-20-2002, 10:16 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly Romeo and Juliet.... Don't start me off Marly :sad: Why can't Juliet wake up in time-Damnit! :( Murkofan 07-20-2002, 10:30 PM Why can't Juliet wake up in time-Damnit! Because it's a tragedy, not a comedy. :p I agree, though, it sucks. Heyyy, Cilla, they Anakin/Padme romance in Star Wars is reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet...;) Angele 07-20-2002, 10:34 PM A walk to remember is better than Romeo and Juliet, at least for me because Romeo and Juliet leaves me pissed off cuz if she would of just woken up in time :fiery: but a walk to remember it can't be avoided... and A walk to Remember is just so perfect  Murkofan 07-20-2002, 10:37 PM *summoning Force powers* Read the book, young Padawan! Angele 07-20-2002, 10:40 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly *summoning Force powers* Read the book, young Padawan! Which book? Murkofan 07-20-2002, 10:42 PM A Walk to Remember, you goober! The movie was based on the book of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. Read it! Angele 07-20-2002, 10:44 PM ok ok I will... but I hear the movie is much better :D Murkofan 07-20-2002, 10:46 PM Eh, can't really argue that, as I haven't seen the movie. I did really enjoy the book, though. The ending in ambiguous, so I choose to think it ends happily. :D Btw, did you ever find any of those books I gave you to look for? Goonergal 07-20-2002, 10:47 PM Originally posted by Dr. Marly Heyyy, Cilla, they Anakin/Padme romance in Star Wars is reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet...;) You'll never get me intrested, whos Padme neway? Senator Padme Amidala Skywalker, wife of Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader, and mother of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, of course! Natalie Portman's character! On 2nd thoughts who cares! You suck. :p I forgot the list in the car So do you! :p Angele 07-20-2002, 11:00 PM In my defense, the book store probably wouldn't of had them anyway :p Goonergal 07-20-2002, 11:05 PM You suck more Marly!:p Murkofan 07-20-2002, 11:05 PM Pffff.
