a Victory from Coast-to-Costa. So, who is the weakest link??

Contradicting what the "wise persons" of the tennis by Internet were thinking, Costa has defeated Safin. he defeated him in all the areas, but especially because Albert was more intelligent.
With light or without light. Indoors or outdoors. With or without the support of the wise persons of the tennis "online", that only I will name for their initials (R, D, TBE; etc) Costa was better today.
How should i say "good bye" in Russian?

FELICITATS ALBERT!!!! AU XAVAL!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

PS: i expect to see safin winning the Davis Cup, I like a bit him, but today... today Costa was The Giant!:bounce: :D

sorry Albert, for underrated you indoors :) congrats :)

yeah Beat, all this time some people were teasing Albert saying that he was a useless player, specially at indoors. Well he fought bravely against lleyton and now he has defeated the favorite of the mass, and supposedly the favorite to win the tournament.
I Hope now that Albert will be more respected. And that those silly comments about his incapability to win matches at indoors ends.

Jorge you are right. AL is my fave along with Lleyton. I like Marat too but Al has so much more heart and a beautiful game. He has been in the quarterfinals of the US Open and Oz already so he can play on any surface. The so-called "wise" people are really just biased and wishfully thinking. Al DOES have a chance against Carlos too I think. He also played great against Lleyton. I love you ALBERT. :D :hearts:

yeah Martinatreu, I hope to see both spaniards qualified in the Red group, i like also Carles, The spaniards basically coz their "clay school" plays tennis with finesse, the Tennis that i love to see in women or men circuit, not only the "bombers" and their circus of aces.

As one of the "wise persons" :D I think it was not very wise to go down to our miserable level :p Stay above us :D

Liking/disliking a player is a very personal issue and that says nothing about his level of play and does not help him to win matches or makes him lose some :)

Costa was better today than Marat. Marat was better than Costa during the indoor season. Costa's indoor results brought about the belief of his inability to win in Shanghai just as nobody believed that Marat could win Paris Masters :)

Just 2 cents from a "wise person" :D

Well, I believe that Coast has given us a lesson of humility. And I am very happy, can't deny it. :D

in english: Happy :p
en espa˝ol: Contento :bounce:
en catalÓ: Feliš

I always said the Marat's head was the weakest link.

See, i was right, again.

I don't agree that it is Marat's head to blame for the losses. He was composed and quite well within himself.

Gotta give more credit to his opponents and don't forget that he just won Paris and played too much lately. His tank is empty.

zosse, Marat is SMART HERE. He is saving his best emotions for DAVIS CUP. He can't spend all of his energy and emotion and heart in Shanghai. He knows that deep down. Costa really is motivated because all year long nobody wanted to give him credit. :D

Costa had the worst indoors stas - you will have to forgive people for not being psycic and not seeing that he would beat Marat :rolleyes::rolleyes:

He will now finish in the top ten - three spaniards in the top ten :D

Now, knock out Moya, he bothers me :D

I'm hoping that Agassi will be another weak link, but will fear for Ferrero will he wins a damn match.

re, the other group that is ;)

I forgive people for not picking al to win his matches Rebecca but people on here take the underestimation of GRAND SLAM CHAMPIONS just too far. AL won more than one title this year and would have come in here and worked on the necessary adjustments to play on this surface knowing that he had not played well indoors. Why do people have to call players "the weakest link" and "mr. nobody". It's irritating me cuz these guys are in the masters cup and hence by definition are not "weak" or "mr. nobodies".

Sorry, just had to say that. And now, PEACE OUT. :D

You are lecturing the wrong person I'm afraid, as I coined neither term and started neither thread.

I also thought Jiri would do well here. A "mr nobody" apparently.

So :p

I guess you did check it out cuz he made it to the finals of two other tournaments. I thought he had won another tournament but did not know that he was in two other finals. Anyways, the point is that he has had an awesome year

:p I never check the stats.

I don't really think that he had an awesome year outside of Roland Garros.

But you can have a crap year, but winning a slam makes it okay I guess

Did I mention that I actually like Costa btw? Granted not as much as I did before May :D

it's ironic that someone like henman, who is regarded as a "fine all-court player" that plays top-class tennis on all surfaces apart from clay, whereas Albert (and Alex C) get regarded as clay baseliners and nothing else? Both have achieved more than henman at the US Open. Albert has been in the Aus Open Quarters. Corretja won this tournament in 98. Geez. And on their preferred surface - clay - both have achieve way more than henman on all of his preferred faster surfaces.

Albert has power, consistency and artistry - it brings wins on any surface. it was obvious to me that he might be a little bit inspired and less jaded than some of the other guys.
