Mr. Wang put up more of a fight than I expected. Or Joachim may have had a bit of a let down after his victory. :) Anyway, :bigclap: Joachim.

Joachim Johansson’s first-round encounter with Yeu-Tzuoo Wang of Taiwan was not nearly as straightforward as many had predicted. The number five seed heaved a sigh of relief as he left court, having won in three sets: 6-2, 6-7, 6-3.
Johannson was off to a good start, taking the opening set 6-2. During the second set the Swede even had three matchpoints, which he failed to convert, allowing Wang back into the match. The Taiwanese staged an impressive comeback, winning the tiebreak at the end of the second set. The loss of a set seemed to jolt Johansson into top gear and the Swede produced some convincing tennis to take the third set 6-3. “I managed to regain control in the third set”, Johannson explained during a press conference. “Of course I am happy with the progress I’ve made so far, but I have a long way to go if I want to be the world No 1.” Johansson, who won in Marseille, will next play fellow countryman Thomas Johansson. “I’m sure about one thing: Johansson will win.” :haha: you dont say!!

Johansson tested by Taiwanese qualifier in Rotterdam
2005-02-16 13:07:54 GMT (Reuters)

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Joachim Johansson was made to work hard on Wednesday before claiming a 6-2 6-7 6-3 victory over Taiwanese qualifier Yeu-Tzuoo Wang at the World Indoor Tournament.
The Swede, who cracked the ATP top 10 rankings for the first time in his career this week after claiming his second title of the year in Marseille, was in imperious form in the first set as he overpowered Wang with thundering groundstrokes.
Wang refused to be intimidated by his 1.98m-tall opponent and hit back in the second when Johansson prepared to serve out for a straight sets victory.
He broke the fifth-seeded Swede while trailing 4-5 in the set by forcing Johansson to swipe a forehand into the net before running away with the tiebreak 7-2.
World number nine Johansson regained his concentration in the third and sealed victory with an overhead smash. The win set up a second-round showdown with his namesake and 2002 Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson.
Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka pulled off a shock victory over Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean 7-6 6-2.
The qualifier made a mockery of the ranking difference with Grosjean, who at number 27 is more than 101 spots above the Swiss journeyman, as he carved out the biggest win of his professional career.
Later in the day, Wawrinka's compatriot and world number one Roger Federer will contest his first match since losing in the semi-finals of last month's Australian Open.
Federer will face Czech qualifier Bohdan Ulihrach when he begins his campaign to win one of the few titles to have eluded him so far.
