I think you will never a poem of me, my Englisch is to bad. ILR 11-06-2002, 05:11 PM thanks more after my tea :) Doris Loeffel 11-06-2002, 05:13 PM well I need a night or two to think about one. You know doing a poem in english isn't that easy..... .....but I did write one for his b'day last year when he turned 20. So have fun reading it!! Vera 11-06-2002, 06:37 PM These 8 guys, in Shanghai, fighting for tennis supremacy Andre's gonna fail so miserably, when he faces Rogi and Juanqui The Chinese'll be amazed, bcos the New Balls going to take Baldy's place They better watch Andre play, he is going to stay only 3 days. Vera 11-06-2002, 07:02 PM I am a tennis addict, Juanqui is my fave I watch all his matches on telly, because he can really play He wracked Baldy, in front of the frenchy, he made it looks so easy I have faith, he'll win RG, and be King of clay one day. Are the German films dubbed? I saw U2 at St Jacob's Park in Basel a few years back and they were great! One of my fave bands, but i prefer their old songs better. The Joshua Tree is my all time fave. I just bought the new Pearl Jam CD today. The more i play it the more i like it. :) RogiFan 11-18-2002, 09:08 PM :) Every time I hear Elevation I think of Pat Rafter -- they played that for a spot on him at the USO last year I think. "Its certainly a suprise" And when I open my huge gift box I cant believe my eyes. How did they get him here? And right on Christmas day? Ive got him all to myself And wont let him go astray. Lee is right, this could very well become another musical -- with a LOT of drama and rivalry!! Iluvrogi and RogiFan's New Musical Adventure!! ;) I particularly LOVE these lines: Only 1 year later RF became his wife! Talk about a FANTASY!! Well, if this is what the new year has in store for me, I better thank Miss Santa!! :D Thank you, sweet ILR! Well at least I sent you a sexy Italian -- hey he has long hair and a tan too, just like my sexy Swiss!!! :hearts:   Oops, back to work!! ILR 12-04-2002, 03:15 PM Mrs.B and hubby strolling on the sand How very romantic walking hand in hand But I have a suprise for her One that she cant turn down Up walked a handsome stranger That made her hubby frown As soon a she saw who he was Her whole face shone Within a matter of minutes Mr.B had gone  He gave them some time alone Because Rogi is her hero Mr.B knew the chance of her Talking to him was zero. So he went off and packed a picnic For the 3 of them to eat After they'd been sailing And in the sea they'd dipped their feet. The three of them went diving So much fun they had But when Rogi had to go Mrs.B was so sad.:( They all had a great time But Rogi had to go back home He had to make up wth Mirka Whom he'd left all alone! ;) lol its just a good job I got something in return! That sounds like a good idea!Lol another musical, that would be quite funny! All thanks duly accepted! I actually LOL'ed at this: Up walked a handsome stranger That made her hubby frown As soon a she saw who he was Her whole face shone Within a matter of minutes Mr.B had gone  You are a terrific poetess!! Keep up the good work :) You should start a series in the Juan Carlos forum so the other visitors that don't come here (like Layla & hitman) could be treated to your rhymes, too. Or we could just force them to come here ;) ILR 12-04-2002, 04:29 PM Thankyou :)hmmm you could force them to come here ;) pity they dont come here because Lily has posted some lovely poems aswell. You could pass on a message ;) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 04:52 PM I know a sweet English girl who frequents atpworld she adores a wonderful player whose game we always cheer he brings us all together but we're from the world all over when he's in a match we're here and our voices are loud & clear win or lose it doesn't matter she'll write something, makes u feel better now she's making up a good story how each of us go out with that special somebody if only she knew the joy that she brings to us fellow fans with her presence here in this thread u can write all sorts of things now we got camaraderie cuz of of dear Roger ay, Emma, hope you'll stay a while school is calling, but u make us smile looking forward to your next poetry cuz that's where you're special, you make our day! :) ILR 12-04-2002, 04:56 PM Mrs.B!!:) that is sooooo lovely!:D wow thanks Ive never had a poem written for me before.:) Its great  *tears of joy* :) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 04:58 PM You're welcome, sweetie. :) ILR 12-04-2002, 05:01 PM :D smiled fixed on my face now! :) I think I might write a poem for Jerzy Dudek:) I feel so sorry for him :( Hes been getting a lot of bad press right now and is under a lot of pressure. Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:05 PM Originally posted by IluvRogi lol can you see the shaping of a musical Mrs.B?;) only if you keep up with your rhymes...i can add some music...;) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:07 PM I hope you have a copy of these somewhere, Emma. You'll never know when you'll print your book of poetry. :) ILR 12-04-2002, 05:10 PM well no I dont actually, but hopefully this thread will always be here. :) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:14 PM i would save it somewhere, if i were you. i used to write some songs and by the time i was inspired to make the music, i lost them. so i have my recent songs saved on a diskette. i'll probably never sing them anyway. ILR 12-04-2002, 05:15 PM I still love you Jerzy Dudek Please dont leave the club :( Try not to get disheartened Even as a sub.:( You're still the greatest keeper dont let people say otherwise It really touched my when I heard You had tears in your eyes. Apologising to the team. For dropping such a simple catch Yet it was a very costly error Which handed them the match Please ignore the people And the awful things they write Because when I heard you cried for us I know you are so right For this club because you care for it With so much heart and sole Keep going Jerzy you're my darling Forget about that goal. You've been going through an awful patch I cant wait til you prove your critics wrong I sing for you"you'll never walk alone" Im always your fan, believe the song :) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:17 PM awww, that's sweet, Emma. Dudek will feel better if he reads this. ILR 12-04-2002, 05:20 PM I dont think he will though :(.Hes having a very hard time :( ILR 12-04-2002, 05:21 PM you should sing them Mrs.B :) it would be good. And Id love to hear them :) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:23 PM well, Oliver Kahn missed a goal kicked in by Ronaldo and he's still Germany's best goalie. Or maybe he still is one of the best goalie out there...they're not machines, you know. pffft @ the critics!!! ILR 12-04-2002, 05:25 PM yeh!!! and he gets dropped for the next few matches  but to be honest that was expected for tonight. But not the other games.Mind you our other goalie Chris Kirkland is excellent! He looks a bit like Martin Lee! Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:26 PM Originally posted by IluvRogi you should sing them Mrs.B :) it would be good. And Id love to hear them :) Ive recorded a couple of them (with a little help from my friends)and sent it to Suisa for the copyrights. I can get some financing from the city of Bern for this project, but i have to write them a letter first and wait for approval. I know several studios around but gathering the musician friends i know for some sessions is the hardest one to organize, they just have projects of their own, or they're playing gigs or doing something else, and i can only sing. I'm scared to accompany myself on guitar when i'm recording. I can do it live when i'm drunk...;) But i've recorded 2 of them last year with this guy who plays guitar and has a studio at home. We basically recorded it in his living room with his cats around. It was cool. He also plays the bass, so we arranged it by ourselves. The other song (it was an ode to a dead friend) required a cello and we found a cello player who played for free. It was great. It was more experimental but the quality was really good and i copied them on cd. It was even played on a rock radio station in the Manila. Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:54 PM Hold your horses, girl! If it ever happened i don't think it will have a commercial impact. Unless Britney Spears sing them. Like i said if this project ever turned into reality, then i would be doing it because i want to see the end product of my creativity. When i'm old and feeble and i'm sitting on my rocking chair i'll play my songs and have a smile on my face and i can say, hah! i did that in my lifetime...:) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 05:56 PM Originally posted by IluvRogi sorry to keep going on about him,but Dudek has been given his place back tonight!:D They havent completely deserted him :D although he wont play at the weekend. that's good news. good for his morale too. Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 06:02 PM Oh yes, it is. But i get critical of myself too. Once i recorded some jazz tunes with some friends and we did that in one afternoon between drinking some champagne and me cooking pasta in the kitchen. It sounded good then but if i listen to it now then i'll say, now i can really record it and will know how to sing it... But pls. don't get too carried away. Anyone can write songs and recording is easier these days with all that technology, so it's really no big deal. But my voice is better than Madonna's. ;) ILR 12-04-2002, 06:03 PM oh better singer than Madonna ;) OK then.Im not getting carried away now :) you've set me straight :p Well if anyone can write songs anyone can write poems!lol Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 06:05 PM well i'm sure if you added music to your poetry you'd come up with a lot of songs! ;) ILR 12-04-2002, 06:08 PM lol I suck at writing music,I dont even understand it! Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 06:12 PM well, if you play the guitar it's easier. you should try it. a couple of chords will do the trick. ;) i have to go back to my domestic diva role. The iron lady is back. and tomorrow i have more work...:( see u later, maybe? :wavey: ILR 12-04-2002, 06:14 PM yikes I have work also.Ill see ya when I see ya :) :wavey: RogiFan 12-04-2002, 06:31 PM :) What talented people we have here! Mrs. B., that's great you've written and sung and recorded your music. A very good idea. You never know... Although I play and read music, I have no creative talent whatsoever. My sis has written and played her own music years ago -- I think her friend wrote the lyrics. Any creative expression is beautiful, be it poetry, novels, diaries, music, lyrics, painting, drawing... cooking too. You have many talents! ;) Mrs. B 12-04-2002, 07:23 PM RF, it's more jack of all trades, master of none... Still, it's good to dabble into something you enjoy doing. I think this year i've picked my tennis racket a hundred times more than i've picked my guitar. I have a friend who plays jazz piano who wants to do a project with me but we never find the time. She teaches music at the conservatory and plays with other people as well, and i got my tennis and the clubhouse to look after during the season so my creative expression has shifted to cooking for the time being. But i'd really like to go back to doing music. For fun. A few summers back 5 friends and i drove to the south of France for two weeks and we played music all over the place it was quite an experience. We'd play in front of a restaurant and they'd give us food & wine and some money. We didn't make much but it was enough to pay our gasoline and to buy some food. We had a big teppee where we all slept. During the day we'd go and swim in the rivers. It was one of the best holidays i had. I've also played in another band and we did jazz standards at some discreet venue or would do weddings, it was a riot. :D RogiFan 12-04-2002, 07:44 PM :) I'm back for a bit Mrs. B.! That sounded like a lot of fun in the S of France. In Barcelona while wandering the Gothic Quarter there were a few music students playing -- added to the atmosphere, we had to give them some money! What would life be w/o music? Pretty dull. I once played a huge pipe organ in a cathedral on a semi-stormy evening just for fun! I was all alone... at least I think I was!! [got a musician friend to let me in] Although I'm crap at playing, it was something I've always wanted to do! I managed to pull out all the stops for JS Bach! If only I could play jazz... but I'm no good at improvising. I admire anyone w musical talent. I'm better off drawing -- I used to dabble in portraits -- mostly of pix from mags or rock stars!! I've never tried my hand at a tennis player though... I need to be "in the mood" or inspired though, in order to produce sth of worth. I esp. love drawing people's eyes -- the mirror to your soul, so they say... ;) ILR 12-04-2002, 07:46 PM Hey RF,come and join me on the other thread :) Im bored.I might think of some more poems.Did you read the one about Dudek? Mrs. B! :hearts::hearts: I just read the whole last page of this thread and . . . wow!! I would totally buy your music. TOTALLY! No matter what style it is. I remember when you posted that song on Henman Hill, it was wonderful!! Music can be such a personal thing. I'm the same way with my writing. I've written stories and novels and I'd love to have them published, but I'm too shy (and too much of my own critic) to do it at the moment. It's the tug of war between seeing your name in lights and dying of embarrassment from the possible criticism. I play a few instruments myself, so if you ever require the services of single-reed woodwinds, gimme a call ;) Unfortunately, I'm just the same as RF. Very creative, but I can't write music worth a damn. It just doesn't come to me. I was in a jazz ensemble and had a very hard time improvising on my own (you can tell how well that experience went, haha). Luckily, I am blessed with the gift of writing, creating worlds for escape or using real people :D I also wanted to note that I loved your poem about ILR. Summed up my feelings better than I could ever put them (I also can't write poetry at all). You should save your poems, ILR, if for no other reason than to look at them later and see the progress you've made, or remember some of your old rhymes about beautiful boys ;) TennisHack 12-04-2002, 08:01 PM Originally posted by Mrs. B But i'd really like to go back to doing music. And you're so good at it Hackie, it's amazing what you come up in your musical fantasy with Layla, also how you present your website...and i'm pretty sure that you kick ass in your class!!! Lee 12-06-2002, 05:33 PM Finally have time to go through all the posts here and http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/thumbs.gif http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/thumbs.gif http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/thumbs.gif http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/thumbs.gif http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/thumbs.gif http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/thumbs.gif What a talent pool you gals have here! ILR 01-11-2003, 03:53 PM Despite your loss in Sydney We love you all the same And due to the fact that you were hurt Could have hampered your game But lets not talk about Sydney And things you failed to win The great hardcourts of sunny Melbourne Is where your year will begin. Though it may be uncertain You'll be fit enough to compete If so,this means this year I wont Be glued down in my seat. Of course I have my other faves To cheer for if you dont make it But get some rest, please recover soon And come back healthy and fit So as you're sat in Australia All your fans hope that their man Will be able to shake off this injury And be perfectly fine come 13th of Jan :) ILR 01-11-2003, 04:33 PM Hes the hot guy on my avatar For those who didnt know ;) When he pulls on a Madrid shirt Its like watching a magic show So skilful with the ball at his feet He scores bagfulls of goals for fun. He can seek a pass, create a chance And make the most wonderful run :) A must have in the national team A very important player for Spain And over the next couple of years More international caps he will gain. But whats also great about Raul Is Madrid are always on my TV He's really hot and great to watch :hearts: He never fails to amaze me :) Lee 01-12-2003, 02:07 AM Emma! So glad your poetic inspiration is back and we have more poems to enjoy. Bravo Bravo Bravo Bravo Bravo Bravo ILR 01-13-2003, 05:44 PM thanks Lee:)I posted this in the Juanqui thread but seeing as this is the poetry thread,Ill put it here also The pressure's on Hewitt They ask can he do it Many warriors he will have to fend. But these 5 other men Will push him again And challenge him right til the end. First there's Marat Safin And he will be laughing If he takes this slam by the neck. Hes a man on a mission, Wants this competition But its never easy to wipe the whole deck Andre Agassi Ranked at number 3 would hate a Grand Slam defeat. Hes still very fast Just like in the past I tell you,hes not easy to beat. Then theres Juanqui of Spain Who would so love to gain This title which lies here in Oz He'll fight all the way With his exqusite way But its never easy because Moya seeded at 5 With passion and drive Will fight for the trophy to kiss If he captures his game The world will remember his name But beware of the 6th seeded Swiss Roger's the Swiss And he'd hate to miss A chance to be a winner this time Out of all of the shots Not one hes not got Hopefully all these 6 will shine. Many others can claim The glamour and fame With a ranking below number 6 Anybody can win Let the Open begin And watch out for a Grand Slam of tricks Lily 01-13-2003, 08:23 PM Great poems, ILR!! :) I always enjoy reading them. So that's Raul, huh...he's very cute! This title your fifth Which you add to the list As you're happing and smiling And pumping your fist. The trophy above you Is held with such pride But the eurosport website Took us for a ride! The result claimed you'd lost Which broke our poor hearts And no longer cared If the final would start. But we found out the truth And you came out on top Let the Fed Express roll on Without one single stop! I admit I have sensitive eyes I've cried a lot in sadness in disappointment in depression but I always find myself crying for you for reasons I can't put my finger on yet never for a negative reaction but for feelings I can't put to words you create sensations inside me I don't normally feel inventions of sentiments that have never been discovered feelings that were like frontiers to me feelings that aren't meant for description just experience other people don't have to understand I don't want them to I want to feel exclusively yours everday for the rest of my life you simply do something to me and if I could explain what that was maybe it wouldn't be as extraordinary but I think the beauty is that I am not supposed to know ILR 02-20-2003, 12:09 AM sure you can Mrs.Guga!:D thats very nice :) Im suprised you didnt say how much you hated my Hyypia poem ;) Gonzo Hates Me! 02-20-2003, 12:19 AM Hehe! ILR 02-20-2003, 12:25 AM good,as long as you dont hate Sami then thats OK ;) Doris Loeffel 07-01-2003, 07:26 AM Well I know I have double work again. But Roger deserves to have all this attention!! And I know I'm posting this twice now but what the heck ;) Hallo Roger Wimbledon steht vor der Tür Alle warten auf die Kür Auch ich gehör‘ dazu Der Grund dafür bist Du Kann‘s kaum noch erwarten Dich zu sehn im Englischen Garten Bin leider nicht live vor Ort, Dafür hinter dem Scoreboard Werd‘ nach der Arbeit nach Hause geh‘n Und hoffentlich dich am TV sehn. Dein Spiel zu verfolgen ein Genuss Eine Augenweide bis zum Schluss Egal wie stark Dein Gegenüber Du bist ganz klar `ne Klasse drüber Ob mit starker Vorhand, Rückhand oder Aufschlag Du kannst Sie schlagen egal mit welchem Schlag Rest (always a rhym after each win) and translation will follow ;) Mrs. B 07-01-2003, 08:18 AM Tschou, Doris! Bist du inspiriert oder was? Nice poem! :clap2: :) Doris Loeffel 07-01-2003, 11:05 AM Sälü Das ist/war mein Glückwunschgedicht an Roger welches ich Sue geschickt habe ;) hat sechs Abschnitte (sollte es tatsächlich so weit kommen ist der 7. schon in meinem Kopf) Thanks Mrs B ;) Doris Loeffel 07-03-2003, 04:20 PM And here's part nr. 5 ;) Solltest mal `nen Ball verschiessen Lass Dich dadurch nicht verdriessen Blieb im Gemüht froh und heiter, Dann kommst gleich `ne Runde weiter Keep going Roger !! Doris Loeffel 08-27-2003, 07:16 PM Thought I might do the same as during Wimbledon... Good luck Roger Soon the summer US tour is over now comes the last hard prover one more title to give away don't let slip this chance away (gee you almost did!!) (hehehe I never tempted to make it rhym in english as well but it just kind of tourned out that way o.k. it's slightly slightly diffrent from the german ;) ) FedFan 08-28-2003, 09:04 AM Gestern warst du, was nicht klug, statt ein Express- ein Bummelzug. :-)) Good luck Roger! Doris Loeffel 08-28-2003, 10:20 AM Hey FF that's a great one!! hast meine Antwort betreffend Smilies gestern gesehen?? HOPP, ROGI!!! vs Lisnard!! Doris Loeffel 08-28-2003, 03:25 PM Yesterday you were, which wasn't smart instead of an Expresstrain only a Regional one At least in the first set apparently you weren't on the court yet In the second set the luck was waving and you've been fighting back from then on you were on a go and you didn't let go But from now on you have to think to not give away a set From us fans it would be a nightmare when you had to go home early So be fighing and playing always with some currage then you'll see the thing will tourn out good And who knows all of a sudden you'd be playing in the final Would be nice but still to early there's still waiting a lot of work and troubles For us fans it means keep the fingers crossed maybe then the coup might be happening Well that's sort of it. You know it's not that easy to translate a poem.... Doris Loeffel 08-30-2003, 04:20 PM Ab Montag Morgen ist’s soweit bin für’s US Open bereit Freue mich schon auf Deine Spiele denn Spieler wie dich gibt’s nicht viele From Monday morning on it's time again I'm ready for the US Open again Am already looking forward to your matches then players like you there aren't many around RogiFan 08-31-2003, 02:30 AM Thanks, Doris! Go out, have fun and win!! :D FedFan 08-31-2003, 08:44 AM Heute Abend wirds wohl schwer, da muss bestes Tennis her. :-)) Good luck Roger! ;) GOOD LUCK, ROGER!!! :bounce: :bounce: Doris Loeffel 09-01-2003, 11:18 AM Werd‘ mich vor den Bildschirm rücken Und dir fest die Daumen drücken um dich zu unterstützen in Gedanken damit du ja nicht kommst zu früh ins wanken Will be behind the screen and keep the fingers crossed will support you in thoughs so you don't get out of balance to early FedFan 09-02-2003, 09:07 AM Nach Blake, dem netten dunklen Mann, folgt leider jetzt Nalbandian. :-)) Doris Loeffel 09-02-2003, 09:09 AM Hey FF you're an artist when it comes to poems!! Keep them up!! BTW you should post them at his site (which is finaly open again too!! I'm shure he'll like them!!) FedFan 09-02-2003, 09:34 AM Hi Doris Thanks for your compliment. I have already seen that Rogers site is finally open. But where should I place the poems there? Via guestbook? On the other side, I dont think that Roger will have time to read them. Was mache ich falsch? :-)) Doris Loeffel 09-12-2003, 04:08 PM Hoooooppppp Schwiiiiizzzz!!!! Yup, my favorite footballer of all time, he's actually my dream man as well. He he..... just kidding. Doris Loeffel 09-15-2003, 08:46 AM Rogicomel here's a short translation of the poem. Well it just says that I'm sorry not beeing able to be with them in Melbourne. That I'm going to send them all my sympathie with telepathie when watching them behind the TV And that they need to be strong against Scud and Lleyton not giving up after the first mistake but still go to attack Still it's a long way to go till they reach their aim to play the final in Bern where of course I would be rogicomel 09-15-2003, 09:33 AM Oh, how sweet....... all my thoughts will be with Swiss team coming this weekend. Telling them that it can't be that everything is resting on the shoulders of one man only that something has to be done about it. That it was working fine so far but unfortunately not any longer. Telling them that I got rid of my fustration now and that dissappointment is fading away and that no matter what I'll still be with them the next year and hope for a home tie draw. and now it comes Swiss Tennis said thanks!!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Merci!
