well I need a night or two to think about one. You know doing a poem in english isn't that easy.....

.....but I did write one for his b'day last year when he turned 20.

So have fun reading it!! :p
Hallo Roger

Heute wirst Du zwanzig Jahre alt

Alles Gute
Doris

ILR
11-06-2002, 06:05 PM
Ok then lol here goes........

I first noticed Rogi
When he beat Pistol Pete
Looking great in his white outfit
And lovely hair so neat
I love all of his necklaces
and every shirt looks great on him
I love when his bandana
Makes him looks so neat and trim
His eyes just want to make you melt
and make your heart beat faster
Not only is he so damn sexy
He is the Hamnburg Master
And so I followed Rogi
Around the world on my TV
And aimlessly dreamed
That he'd fall in love with me ;)
But I knew that wouldnt happen
coz he has a classy girl
But all the same he'll never stop
my stomach getting in a whirl
So I just sat back and enjoyed his game
how beautiful it is to see
And I will be his fan forever
He's the world number 1 to be :D

These 8 guys, in Shanghai, fighting for tennis supremacy
Andre's gonna fail so miserably, when he faces Rogi and Juanqui
The Chinese'll be amazed, bcos the New Balls going to take Baldy's place
They better watch Andre play, he is going to stay only 3 days.

Vera
11-06-2002, 07:02 PM
I am a tennis addict, Juanqui is my fave
I watch all his matches on telly, because he can really play
He wracked Baldy, in front of the frenchy, he made it looks so easy
I have faith, he'll win RG, and be King of clay one day.

ILR
11-06-2002, 07:51 PM
Vera's got the hang of this!:D

Nico is a saucepot
Id love to eat him all
He looks so very sexy
just hitting a tennis ball
I dont see him very often
on my TV it makes me sad
He's the most gorgeous looking man
Ecaudor has ever had!:D

ILR
11-06-2002, 08:23 PM
walking along the deserted beach
with no one else around
I turn to you and take your hand
I cant believe that I have found
A love so strong when I stare
into your deep and soulful eyes
And when you whisper in my ear
you take me up above the skies
When I feel your heartbeat
I cry because I know
I have to make the most of it
before I have to go
I must come down from heaven
One kiss one last time
Now Im gone I want you to know
In my heart you will be mine

RogiFan

Rogi is a Basle fan
Whilst I love Liverpool
One of these will be knocked out
On Tuesday night,how cruel
I can't describe the tension
Im so excited I cant wait
Until the 12th of November
At around quarter to eight.
You'll never walk alone
Will be sang around the stands
What a wonderful atmosphere
Echoing around the stands
And when my boys in red line up
When the whistle has been blown
No one else can help them
They're out there on their own.
But playing in the Champions League
Is an experience or so it seems
I want to say may the best side win
Good luck to both the teams!

(especially Liverpool!;) ) thanks Hackie,no I havent thought about contests

For Roger

it's not an obsession
it's more admiration
cuz i really love to watch
whenever you play a match

your backhand is a beauty
so is your forehand and your volley
and on any given day
you'd serve aces on the T

i've always loved this game
long before i knew your name
and now i enjoy it even more
and you inspire me to play better than before

it may sound silly coming from me
but i'd really like to meet you one day
for a chance to personally say
thank you for the tennis that you play!

This to my grandad
In loving memory of you
I know that you'll be proud of me
In everything I do
I know you're watching over me
From up there in the sky
And when I think what I have lost
I cannot help but cry
I think about you all the time
But know Im not alone
I know you think about me too
So I wont be on my own
People knew what a loving man you are
could tell just by your smile
This I dedicate to you
Love your first grandchild

Just a few days
til the Master's begins
our fingers crossed
to hope that he wins

The youngest of eight
the first Swiss in years
we know win or lose
we'll see lots of tears

His dancer like moves
will stun all of Shanghai
his angel good looks
will make all the girls sigh

Go for the gold Rogi!

wow all the people there
just play your best game

a feel good poem :)

You are unique
Theres no one like you
Feel good and take pride
In all that you do
Theres someone worse off
No matter how bad
You think your life is
So always be glad
For the simple things maybe
you're lucky to own
And the people around you
You're never alone
Its very important
That the love that you find
is not only outgoing
But is your peace of mind
Love yourself and be happy
Thats the key to success
And always remeber
You are the best!:D

You were the teenage underdog
When pistol Pete came crashing
Your persistance and your awesome game
made his grand slam run take a bashing
You were dressed in your white tennis clothes
And dropped down to the floor
You celebrated and shed a tear
And looked hungry for more
Thats when you were propelled to fame
After this legendary win
Onto the quarter-finals
Couldn't wait for it to begin
It might have been one game too far
But you did the best you could
No one could complain at all
Be proud of yourself you should
You've come such a long way from then
Everybody knows your name
Your oppenents are wary of you
And the way you play your game
A serve and volley player
With every shot thats in the book
All these things made me notice you
And not the way you look
But now I come to mention it
You're a gorgeous guy indeed
And now you're in the Masters Cup
We know you can succeed
No one can deny your talent
Thats why you can win a Grand Slam
You make tennis so exciting
Love a doting fan :)

:)
From January to November
from Australia to Shanghai
his name is Cliffy Drysdale
we're blessed to have this guy

He has a soft sweet accent
he's a sparkling ray of light
but when he gets PatMac in the booth
they always start a fight

A friendly hello, he always says
from whatever country he's in
we'll see you again next year Cliffy
goodbye our tennis friend

Lily

well, i have no idea how this topic entered my mind ;)

What is it about the bandana
that always makes me stare
maybe how it frames the face
or how it hugs the hair

It comes in many colors
from snow white to midnight black
it has to match the outfit perfectly
looking good from front to back

Is it just a coincidence
that two of my favorite guys
both wear this with the cutest smiles
and who have the kindest eyes

You have to be a warrior
with all the grace and class
you have to have the attitude
which means not being an as_

I'm addicted to the bandana
i'm not ashamed to say
i love to see the guys touch theirs
in that very special way

:)

Holding your bouquet of flowers
Enjoying the atmosphere
Counting down the hours

Until you hit the tennis court
Then Shanghai is set alight
The day is drawing ever closer
I cant wait til tuesday night

How did I forget to mention
In you red coat you look so great
And now youre all in Shanghai you
Truly belong in the top 8

looking back at 2002
You've come such a long way
You've played and tried your very best
Until the very last day

No-one could ask for anymore
You gave your heart and soul
For your family,friends and fans
You will achieve your goals

You've picked up so many admirers
On your tour over the globe
From you red T-shirt in Sydney
To your red Shanghai silky robe

3 titles held to your name this year
A masters series dont forget ;)
And everyone in the tennis world
Can sense a grand slam yet!:D

So congratulations you've done us proud
Every single match throughout this year
And all we hope that a potato peeling
Is very very near ;)

hmmmm from personal experience............

I didnt think that you were capable
Of lying to my friends
And spreading things I didnt say
And now our friendship ends

You said things behind my back to people
To the boy I liked and my best mates
And nobody would talk to me
You left me in a state

I didnt want to go to school
Speak to me no-one would
And when I got those prank phone calls
Ignore you is what I should

But now people found out the truth
A new circle of friends Ive made
And I think you have learnt you're lesson
But the dirty looks you gave

They hurt me but now who is the one
Who has no body, you are alone
You dont bother me you are worse off
And in my mind I know

That although I cant forgive you
I cant help but feel numb
But Ive nothing to do with you again
Because of what you've done

Mrs. B

Down in London
where Ive been
The courts are empty
The grass is green
This time of year
Theres no one round
In 6 months or so
you'll see the crowd
most come to cheer for
Greg and Tim
But Im for you
I think you'll win
but if you dont
one year it'll come
you've graced my land
and i feel numb
in the capital
you can conquer
i for one will be
going bonkers
but just to see you
in wimbledon
will be awesome
but when you're gone
i know you'll return
and play your best
thats all i ask
to see zip and zest
so dont let Hewitt
retain his crown
I want to see you
knock him down
if you dont win this year
i dont care
all thats important
is that you're there :)

Mrs. B

Hi, RF! Are the German films dubbed? I saw U2 at St Jacob's Park in Basel a few years back and they were great! One of my fave bands, but i prefer their old songs better. The Joshua Tree is my all time fave. I just bought the new Pearl Jam CD today. The more i play it the more i like it. :)

And so it ends today
Rogi's great and rocky year
let's share with him this time
with a smile, with a tear

A win in Sydney started it
it seems so long ago
a close match with Haas was next
little did we know

An awesome week in Miami
A memorable match with Lleyt
his first masters series final
but a win would have to wait

Moving to the red stuff
we weren't expecting much
Hamburg was the sweetest win
showing his clay touch

Then there was some chatter
a fave for French he became
but pressure and some tiredness
got the best of Rogi's game

A couple weeks to Wimby
a sure thing the experts said
then some croatian qualifier
put an end to the grassy bed

The slump continued into the summer
we wondered when it would end
before we had a chance to find out
Rogi had lost a dear friend

A very emotional Open
a kiss to the sky above
we all could feel his sadness
so we sent him lots of love

The indoor season had arrived
hopes were very high
A Vienna win, a moving speech
made all his fans cry

Moving closer to his dream
being in the final eight
he clinched his place in Paris
with revenge that was so great

In Shanghai he played his best
the boy with the golden touch
he moved into the semi's
where Hewitt proved too much

He left the court with a smile
the people were on their feet
next year when he's in Houston
he'll be the one to beat

And so it ends today
this great and rocky year
see you again next year Rogi
with a smile, with a tear
:)

There it stands all alone
glittering in the fading light
I lay in bed and wonder what
will be placed under my tree tonight.
No-one really knows what I
desire to be given to me this year
And then I sit up straight because
My mum and dad I overhear
"Do you think she'll like her present?"
"Its certainly a suprise"
And when I open my huge gift box
I cant believe my eyes.
How did they get him here?
And right on Christmas day?
Ive got him all to myself
And wont let him go astray.
Did I forget to mention
what my parents got for me?
A sexy Swiss named Roger
Who squatted underneath my tree!:D

So now that I have Roger
I asked him could he do a deal
Could he send Hackie, Michel
Id feed him an extra x-mas meal
He said he'd think about it
and then picked up his mobile phone
And rang his friend in Switzerland
Who was sat home alone.
Michel didnt need to be asked twice
He hopped right on the plane
To USA to find his girl
And Hackie was her name.
And when they met,they embraced
Then Hackie took him home
So christmas worked out wonderfully
As soon as these two were alone ;)

My powers of persuasion
Are hard at work again
This time I write an e-mail
my intentions are the same
To get a guy for x-mas
For my other friend called Lee
And what turned up in my inbox
was a suprise,even to me!
I had recieved a mail from Guga
Who had turned up on Lee's door
This was better than the x-mas prezzie

Mrs.B and hubby
strolling on the sand
How very romantic
walking hand in hand
But I have a suprise for her
One that she cant turn down
Up walked a handsome stranger
That made her hubby frown
As soon a she saw who he was
Her whole face shone
Within a matter of minutes
Mr.B had gone
He gave them some time alone
Because Rogi is her hero
Mr.B knew the chance of her
Talking to him was zero.
So he went off and packed a picnic
For the 3 of them to eat
After they'd been sailing
And in the sea they'd dipped their feet.
The three of them went diving
So much fun they had
But when Rogi had to go
Mrs.B was so sad.:(
They all had a great time
But Rogi had to go back home
He had to make up wth Mirka
Whom he'd left all alone! ;)

lol its just a good job I got something in return! That sounds like a good idea!Lol another musical, that would be quite funny! All thanks duly accepted!

I know a sweet English girl
who frequents atpworld
she adores a wonderful player
whose game we always cheer

he brings us all together
but we're from the world all over
when he's in a match we're here
and our voices are loud & clear

win or lose it doesn't matter
she'll write something, makes u feel better
now she's making up a good story
how each of us go out with that special somebody

if only she knew the joy that she brings
to us fellow fans with her presence here
in this thread u can write all sorts of things
now we got camaraderie cuz of of dear Roger

ay, Emma, hope you'll stay a while

looking forward to your next poetry

I still love you Jerzy Dudek
Please dont leave the club :(
Try not to get disheartened
Even as a sub.:(

You're still the greatest keeper
dont let people say otherwise
It really touched my when I heard
You had tears in your eyes.

Apologising to the team.
For dropping such a simple catch
Yet it was a very costly error
Which handed them the match

Please ignore the people
And the awful things they write
Because when I heard you cried for us
I know you are so right

For this club because you care for it
With so much heart and sole
Keep going Jerzy you're my darling
Forget about that goal.

You've been going through an awful patch
I cant wait til you prove your critics wrong
I sing for you"you'll never walk alone"
Im always your fan, believe the song :)

My secret wish is to compile them all and make a cd out of it. I can get some financing from the city of Bern for this project, but i have to write them a letter first and wait for approval. I know several studios around but gathering the musician friends i know for some sessions is the hardest one to organize, they just have projects of their own, or they're playing gigs or doing something else, and i can only sing. I'm scared to accompany myself on guitar when i'm recording. I can do it live when i'm drunk...;) But i've recorded 2 of them last year with this guy who plays guitar and has a studio at home. We basically recorded it in his living room with his cats around. It was cool. He also plays the bass, so we arranged it by ourselves. The other song (it was an ode to a dead friend) required a cello and we found a cello player who played for free. It was great. It was more experimental but the quality was really good and i copied them on cd. It was even played on a rock radio station in the Manila.

Oh yes, it is. But i get critical of myself too. Once i recorded some jazz tunes with some friends and we did that in one afternoon between drinking some champagne and me cooking pasta in the kitchen. It sounded good then but if i listen to it now then i'll say, now i can really record it and will know how to sing it...
But pls. don't get too carried away. Anyone can write songs and recording is easier these days with all that technology, so it's really no big deal. But my voice is better than Madonna's. ;)

:) What talented people we have here! Mrs. B., that's great you've written and sung and recorded your music. A very good idea. You never know...

Although I play and read music, I have no creative talent whatsoever. My sis has written and played her own music years ago -- I think her friend wrote the lyrics.

Any creative expression is beautiful, be it poetry, novels, diaries, music, lyrics, painting, drawing... cooking too.

You have many talents!

;)

RF, it's more jack of all trades, master of none...

Still, it's good to dabble into something you enjoy doing. I think this year i've picked my tennis racket a hundred times more than i've picked my guitar. I have a friend who plays jazz piano who wants to do a project with me but we never find the time. She teaches music at the conservatory and plays with other people as well, and i got my tennis and the clubhouse to look after during the season so my creative expression has shifted to cooking for the time being. But i'd really like to go back to doing music. For fun. A few summers back 5 friends and i drove to the south of France for two weeks and we played music all over the place it was quite an experience. We'd play in front of a restaurant and they'd give us food & wine and some money. We didn't make much but it was enough to pay our gasoline and to buy some food. We had a big teppee where we all slept. During the day we'd go and swim in the rivers. It was one of the best holidays i had. I've also played in another band and we did jazz standards at some discreet venue or would do weddings, it was a riot. :D

:) I'm back for a bit Mrs. B.!

That sounded like a lot of fun in the S of France. In Barcelona while wandering the Gothic Quarter there were a few music students playing -- added to the atmosphere, we had to give them some money! What would life be w/o music? Pretty dull. I once played a huge pipe organ in a cathedral on a semi-stormy evening just for fun! I was all alone... at least I think I was!! [got a musician friend to let me in] Although I'm crap at playing, it was something I've always wanted to do! I managed to pull out all the stops for JS Bach! If only I could play jazz... but I'm no good at improvising. I admire anyone w musical talent.

I'm better off drawing -- I used to dabble in portraits -- mostly of pix from mags or rock stars!! I've never tried my hand at a tennis player though... I need to be "in the mood" or inspired though, in order to produce sth of worth. I esp. love drawing people's eyes -- the mirror to your soul, so they say... ;)

Mrs. B! :hearts::hearts:

I just read the whole last page of this thread and . . . wow!! I would totally buy your music. TOTALLY! No matter what style it is. I remember when you posted that song on Henman Hill, it was wonderful!!

Music can be such a personal thing. I'm the same way with my writing. I've written stories and novels and I'd love to have them published, but I'm too shy (and too much of my own critic) to do it at the moment. It's the tug of war between seeing your name in lights and dying of embarrassment from the possible criticism.

I play a few instruments myself, so if you ever require the services of single-reed woodwinds, gimme a call ;) Unfortunately, I'm just the same as RF. Very creative, but I can't write music worth a damn. It just doesn't come to me. I was in a jazz ensemble and had a very hard time improvising on my own (you can tell how well that experience went, haha). Luckily, I am blessed with the gift of writing, creating worlds for escape or using real people :D

I also wanted to note that I loved your poem about ILR. Summed up my feelings better than I could ever put them (I also can't write poetry at all). You should save your poems, ILR, if for no other reason than to look at them later and see the progress you've made, or remember some of your old rhymes about beautiful boys ;)

Wow, sounds like it was a blast :) I'd really like to do something like that (time & money allowing), just go lose myself and have a great time with no strings attached. I think everyone should. My great holiday will probably somehow revolve around tennis :o as it is what I have the most interest in for the time being.

And you're so good at it Hackie, it's amazing what you come up in your musical fantasy with Layla, also how you present your website...and i'm pretty sure that you kick ass in your class!!!
Have you ever read "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy? You know she never wrote a book before but she's an amazing writer, some people really have that gift to write stories.

Despite your loss in Sydney
We love you all the same
And due to the fact that you were hurt
Could have hampered your game

But lets not talk about Sydney
And things you failed to win
The great hardcourts of sunny Melbourne
Is where your year will begin.

Though it may be uncertain
You'll be fit enough to compete
If so,this means this year I wont
Be glued down in my seat.

Of course I have my other faves
To cheer for if you dont make it
But get some rest, please recover soon
And come back healthy and fit

So as you're sat in Australia
All your fans hope that their man
Will be able to shake off this injury
And be perfectly fine come 13th of Jan

Hes the hot guy on my avatar
For those who didnt know ;)
When he pulls on a Madrid shirt
Its like watching a magic show

So skilful with the ball at his feet
He scores bagfulls of goals for fun.
He can seek a pass,create a chance
And make the most wonderful run :)

A must have in the national team
A very important player for Spain
And over the next couple of years
More international caps he will gain.

But whats also great about Raul
Is Madrid are always on my TV
He's really hot and great to watch :hearts:
He never fails to amaze me :)

thanks Lee:)I posted this in the Juanqui thread but seeing as this is the poetry thread,Ill put it here also

The pressure's on Hewitt
They ask can he do it
Many warriors he will have to fend.
But these 5 other men
Will push him again
And challenge him right til the end.

First there's Marat Safin
And he will be laughing
If he takes this slam by the neck.
Hes a man on a mission,
Wants this competition
But its never easy to wipe the whole deck

Andre Agassi
Ranked at number 3
would hate a Grand Slam defeat.
Hes still very fast
Just like in the past
I tell you,hes not easy to beat.

Then theres Juanqui of Spain
Who would so love to gain
This title which lies here in Oz
He'll fight all the way
With his exqusite way
But its never easy because

Moya seeded at 5
With passion and drive
Will fight for the trophy to kiss
If he captures his game
The world will remember his name
But beware of the 6th seeded Swiss

Roger's the Swiss
And he'd hate to miss
A chance to be a winner this time
Out of all of the shots
Not one hes not got
Hopefully all these 6 will shine.

Many others can claim
The glamour and fame
With a ranking below number 6
Anybody can win
Let the Open begin
And watch out for a Grand Slam of tricks

In honour of today!:D

With your victory in France
And your new shade of red
You took out Jonas
And left him for dead.
This title your fifth
Which you add to the list
As you're happing and smiling
And pumping your fist.
The trophy above you
Is held with such pride
But the eurosport website
Took us for a ride!
The result claimed you'd lost
Which broke our poor hearts
And no longer cared
If the final would start.
But we found out the truth
And you came out on top
Let the Fed Express roll on
Without one single stop!

Born and bred in Finland
Now the Liverpool skip
Where theres something in the water :p
Maybe I should make the trip ;)

The huge star in our backline
The first name on the team sheet
The way he plays his awesome game
So beautiful and neat.

Never a messy tackle
Always stands up straight
He heads with such precision
Sami Hyypia is great :D

Loved by all the Kopites
A great reader of the game
The defender every big team wants
They're scrapping for his name.

But Sami's staying where he is
My gorgeous Finnish star
I love to watch him play because
His defending is a work of art

Our commanding number four
Id cry if you were to be gone
Coz you're our captain Marvell
Sami,you're my number one :D

OK so I just love this pic he looks so handsome, plus you can see captains armband :D

Cool!!! Can I put some poetry in here?!

(This is about Rogi!)

I admit
I have sensitive eyes
I've cried a lot
in sadness
in disappointment
in depression
but I always find myself crying for you
for reasons I can't put my finger on
yet never for a negative reaction
but for feelings I can't put to words
you create sensations inside me I don't normally feel
inventions of sentiments that have never been discovered
feelings that were like frontiers to me
feelings that aren't meant for description
just experience
other people don't have to understand
I don't want them to
I want to feel exclusively yours everday
for the rest of my life
you simply do something to me
and if I could explain what that was
maybe it wouldn't be as extraordinary
but I think the beauty is that I am not supposed to know

Im zweiten Durchgang winkte Glück
und du kämpftest dich zurück.
Von da an hattest du nen Lauf.
So ging die Sache schliesslich auf.

Nun, aber solltest du dran denken,
Sätze nicht mehr zu "verschenken".
Für uns Fans wär es ein Graus,
müsstest zeitig du nach Haus.

So kämpf und spiele stets mit Mut,
wirst sehn, dann kommt die Sache gut.
Und wer weiss mit einem Male.
stets du dann in dem Finale.

Schön wäre es doch noch zu früh,
noch warten Arbeit und viel Müh.
Für uns Fans heissts Daumendrücken,
vielleicht wird dann der Coup auch glücken! :-))

Yesterday you were, which wasn't smart
instead of an Expresstrain only a Regional one
At least in the first set
apparently you weren't on the court yet

In the second set the luck was waving
and you've been fighting back
from then on you were on a go
and you didn't let go

But from now on you have to think
to not give away a set
From us fans it would be a nightmare
when you had to go home early

So be fighing and playing always with some currage
then you'll see the thing will tourn out good
And who knows all of a sudden
you'd be playing in the final

Would be nice but still to early
there's still waiting a lot of work and troubles
For us fans it means keep the fingers crossed
maybe then the coup might be happening

Well that's sort of it. You know it's not that easy to translate a poem....

Roger, sag mal, was war bloss
in Runde vier denn mit dir los?

Nalbandian, dies ist ein Fluch
scheint für dich ein rotes Tuch.
Bald liessest du den Kopfe hangen,
nachdem du so gut angefangen.
Hast dir selbst nicht mehr vertraut
und den Gegner aufgebaut.

Wir wollten dich doch lang noch sehen,
und können einfach nicht verstehen,
dass einer mit soviel Talent
in die Niederlage rennt.

Drum, Roger, bleib auf jeden Fall
künftig länger noch am Ball.
Kämpfe, dies mit viel Esprit
zwing deine Gegner in die Knie.

So wecktest du nach diesem Frust
in uns wieder Tennislust.
Und die vielen Fans, die hier
freuten sich enorm mit dir! :-))

Good one FedFan

Kopf hoch Roger

Was jetzt kommt magst nicht gerne hören

Meine Zweifel waren schon fast zerronnen

Musst Du uns Fans so foltern?

oder die geniale down the line Rückhand?

Was mache ich falsch?

Hallo Doris

Ja, Rogers Seite funktionierte auch gestern nicht. Hoffentlich wird der Fehler bald aufgehoben.

Danke für deine Hilfe. :-))

Hoooooppppp Schwiiiiizzzz!!!!

Mensch ich wär’s so gerne mitgeflogen
Nein dies ist auf keinen Fall gelogen
ich bin sicher es würd‘ sich lohnen
Doch leider kann ich mich nicht klonen
Jetzt heisst‘s um sieben Uhr aufzusteh‘n
Um Euch am TV spielen zu seh’n

Werd nun versuchen mit Telepathie
Euch zu senden all meine Sympathie
Um Euch im fernen Down Under

Damit Ihr erreicht euer Ziel
Wünsch‘ ich Euch Glück ganz mega viel

Alles Gute Jungs

It's so unfair becoz I dn't understand your poems here. Nevermind I'll send a Rogi's poem in my own language -- just for my own reading, he he..

Hey, I've never been to this side of the forum but this thread is fun! Alright I could only understand the ones in English. :o
Hmmm, I'll think of what I can contribute later.

:wavey: Rogicomel, is that Alessandro Nesta on your avatar?

Rogicomel, is that Alessandro Nesta on your avatar?

Yup, my favorite footballer of all time, he's actually my dream man as well. He he..... just kidding.

Rogicomel here's a short translation of the poem.

Well it just says that I'm sorry not beeing able to be with them in Melbourne. That I'm going to send them all my sympathie with telepathie when watching them behind the TV
And that they need to be strong against Scud and Lleyton
not giving up after the first mistake but still go to attack
Still it's a long way to go till they reach their aim to play the final in Bern where of course I would be

Hehe who would have thought that!!

Posted an other one at the DC Site:

Trotzdem Danke!!!

Es ist zum Haare raufen
Oder zum sich besaufen
Was ist bestens zu verstehn
Wenn das letzte Spiel gesehn

Auch zum heulen ist’s
Blos hilft alles nichts
Verlohren ist das Spiel
Verpasst das grosse Ziel

Ihr wart sooo nahe dran gewesen
Jetzt bleibt Euch (fast) nichts ausser Spesen

Wo in vielen unvergesslichen Stunden
Ihr sicher viele neue Fans gefunden

Was auch immer in Zukunft sei
Bin 2004 mit dabei
Wenn Ihr um die Schüssel kämpft
Ist mein Support ungedämpft

Wünsche fürs neue Jahr
Ganz viel Glück ist ja klar
Werde auch fest die Daumen drücken
dass Ihr uns dürft zu Haus entzücken

Alles Gute
Doris

Just saying that after the Rog-Hewitt Match it was soo fustrating to see that they missed a huge chance to go one step further. Telling them that it can't be that everything is resting on the shoulders of one man only that something has to be done about it. That it was working fine so far but unfortunately not any longer. Telling them that I got rid of my fustration now and that dissappointment is fading away and that no matter what I'll still be with them the next year and hope for a home tie draw.

and now it comes Swiss Tennis said thanks!!!!

They say that with my post I have showed my support for them. And that my poems have been appreciated and are thanking for them. And they are still counting on my support.

I would have never expected that!! (all right was also about the only one who posted several times heheh) but still at least they do read the stuff

Hehehe I know I just sound like a teenie again but well it really was unexpected

Well Roger just deserves an other one ;)

There was a man in Husten and played at the Masters
Named Roger - and he was the Master of the Masters
Played tennis so spectacular
made himself very popular
despite beating all the Americans
he sure gained a lot of new Ami-fans
Thank you Roger for that wondeful time
I'm sure you haven't reached your prime
That's why I'm looking forward to next year
Where you'll be at the top for me that's clear

Good luck and all the best for 2004 Roger!!
