Is the "backwards-hat-indoors" look quite stupid?

YES Haas, Hewitt - that means you two!

And others, I imagine

11-04-2002, 10:09 AM
You are not alone :)

PH Mathieu is the next on the list ;)

Does Roddick still do this? I know that he has commited the offense in the past.

I should also include, that the "visor indoors" look, is also stupid.

11-04-2002, 10:43 AM
I think it's fine... I'd assume they wear a hat or something to keep the sweat out of their eyes and off their face so it's fine.

11-04-2002, 10:50 AM
so they are the only players on the tour who sweat

some of the girls also do that during the indoors season, with the visor and all. parhaps it's part of the endorsement thang?

Is the "backwards-hat-indoors" look quite stupid?

we fashion experts from the fashion tennisthread on a certain board came to conclussion that it always looks stupid except on three year old boys! :o

I wonder who those fashion experts are ;)

11-04-2002, 12:22 PM
Perhaps they consider their headgear a part of their outfit, no matter where they're playing?

And doesn't Hewitt consider his hats lucky?

11-04-2002, 12:24 PM
To the defence of players who were hats indoors:
The lights are annoying. Though i cant defend the backwards-hat

I agree, the lights seem to be annoying.
Anyway, although is kinda stupid that they're using them there, well is up to them.:o

11-04-2002, 09:36 PM
Some players are better off with their hair capped:p
But visor is just

I like visors. Only cool people wear visor.

11-05-2002, 12:14 AM
yes Becca, you are definately not alone...
it looks very stupid

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks so ;)

Now, I somewhat understand for Haas- he has long hair, and it holds it back.

But really - when I saw him in Toronto, at noon - broad day night - he had NOT hat and a pony tail.

His third round, a night match - backwards hat!

11-05-2002, 12:55 AM
I know that with Lleyton it started as a superstition after he wore his hat backwards when he beat Agassi in Adelaide.
What's Tommy's excuse?

Chloe le Bopper
11-05-2002, 12:57 AM
Who makes up supersitions in an attempt to look ugly?

11-05-2002, 01:25 AM
Hewitt uses the same hat all the time. Its been ages since I see the same dirt in its back side. eww. :p

Its obviously a superstition.

I agree visors are ugh!
Although, some girls look good in them. :p

11-05-2002, 01:58 AM
LMAO! They are sooo much better than visors!

11-05-2002, 02:02 AM
I think it is something that some tennis players are so used to that they are not feeling comfortable without. Like I so used to wear my sunglass when I am wearing contacts that even on cloudy days, I still have my sunglass on.

11-05-2002, 02:06 AM
Tommy just needs to cut his hair, then he wouldnt have to worry about it. :)

11-05-2002, 07:15 AM
When Tommy had short hair, he wasn't wearing a cap.

No idea why they continue wearing them, I'm used to seeing Lleyton in one, so I don't pay attention to it. But Tommy... he looks so much better without a cap IMO. He had to wear it some time ago because his hair was sticking out and I guess he couldn't make a ponytail out of it and then probably got used to wearing a cap and felt uncomfortable without one...

11-05-2002, 08:34 AM
Tommy's been wearing that cap backwards ever since he was a kid
he must have grown up watching the KING of backward Cap Wearers ....... Marc-Kevin Goellner (i saw him last week and yes he was wearing it backwards indoors  )

11-05-2002, 10:33 AM
Marc-Kevin Goellner is still alive?

11-05-2002, 10:40 AM
I think I prefer seeing Heewee in that cap,not without it ;)

Actually, i dont have a problem with that. Its just funny to see the same dirt all the time. :p

Actually, I think it's just a few years old, from when Alex Corretja beaned him in the face with a ball.

And Becca, have you SEEN Lleyton in a head band? It's not a pretty sight. :p

I thought Hewitt looked kind of cute in a headband

11-06-2002, 05:55 AM
Andy Roddick has just had a hair-cut, so don't worry about him.

11-06-2002, 09:45 AM
You decide :p Note the offending Clay Mark has been highighted ;) :p

11-06-2002, 09:54 AM

Roddick needs to lose both.

Hewitt looks better with a headband.

he lost in three sets in Nottingham last week 6-7 in 3rd.

I'm sure he was the inventor of the backwards cap on court.

11-06-2002, 07:56 PM
lol @ the dirt highlight. Priceless. :D ;)
