I now hate Andy Roddick...

I used to love him soo much but after i watched him play against Scirchiphan and he bored me to tears in fact he always bores me. i uesd to love cos he's American now i realise he's just a freak and i will never support him again.

He is also very arrogant and waay overrated the amount of times ive stuck up for the guy my friend saw him at US Open and she sad he blantently ignored even though he was pratising. How rude and he isnt even FINE like i thought he was James Blake...Carlos Moya ...HELLO! Fine specimen of manhood or what! Andy dosent even get near them.

So what has Mr Dick got going for him....ive done a complete 180 on Andy but i know im not the only one he comes off really bad in interviews and stuff and his fashion on and off court is just tragic.

No more dick head for me....unless its James' ;) :lick:

Andy is a nice guy and he isnt arrogant at all!he's a fighter and sometimes he can have ridicoulous and exagerated attitudes but he's definitely a good guy.i met him in paris for DC semifinal and he was nice to everyone.

Andy is nowhere near as good ambassador for Amreican men's tennis as James Blake a sophisticated guy with an education who stands up for what he believes in so elegantly.

I'm not exactly Andy's number one fan.

But he isn't THAT bad.

Granted after seeing him act up in Toronto, my opinion of him as a player has gone down - but meh.

He's human.

I guess I must be too forgiving, or impartial, or something...

I was at Andy's TOronto match vs Nico and to say the least, I was NOT impressed with his conduct at all (for the record, I wasn't impressed with Nico's timing either, though his complaint had some basis).

Never before had I seen someone not sign for a single person after WINNING a match. But he was in such a tiff he couldn't be bothered, and sulked off court with the officials. Disgusting.

Heck, I showed up the next day and cheered for Koubek (the guy who beat my fave the round before) against him the next day. Something I would never even think of doing normally.

However, by the weekend when my freind (who was also there) was still saying "grar I hate him, I hope he gets killed by Canas" (for the record she used to be right in there with the teeny bopper crowd) - I was indifferent and didn't care anymore than I normally would.

Meh.

so what, he didnt sign autographs! when you are in that bad of mood and didnt like the way you were playing-- he was prolly pretty pissed. Safin has done the same thing, I remem. Watching Marat play someone at some tournament and lost and just walked away after the match didnt sign anyones autograph. I was shocked. nuff said. I love ya Andy! :D

oh Becca, you'll be surprised how common this is among players. but back to Andy :D Didn't Nico had him on the verge of tears? :o Maybe Andy was too emotional to face the crowd...

I agree, Nico has some basis for that.
And he must be very angry, because he usually is a calm guy.....so I guess Andy's attitude was too much for Nico's patience(and look out that he has a lot of it!)

Common? Well you will have to forgive me then - I went to Toronto finals in 99 (wta), Montreal 2001 for two days, Toronto 2002 for three days, and the US Open 2002 for two days, and have NEVER seen this elsewhere.

Common? Funny, it sure isn't common anywhere I've been. Must be coincidence that I never see it or something, hmmm?

ANyhow, I have pics of it, I'll post somewhere. Not sure if he was going to cry, he more looked like he wanted to throw a punch at someone ;)

Um hello - not the same situation! Let me spell this out, nice and slowly, in baby talk for you:

1 - ANDY WON THE MATCH
2 - ANDY SULKED
3- ANDY RAN OFF COURT WITHOUT SIGNING

You know what? Personally, I don't CARE if they don't sign. I don't ask for signatures anyhow as a rule (I did ONCE from Ferrero, because my freind made me. The other time, I got in line for Justine, but mainly wanted a picture).

However - some little kid who idolizes him MIGHT care. And MIGHT be let down to see their idol act like a spoiled brat.

If you fucking read anyhing I wrote, you would have noticed that I pointed out QUITE FUCKING CLEARLY that I don't hold it against him today. I feel no worse about him than I did before that.

At the time - it left a sour taste.

Do you understand now, or do I have to explain it again?

common it is...I don't think you can name a player who hasn't done it. I've had my own faves do it to me :o :o Pete Sampras does it very often, as well as Andre Agassi and even Lindsay Davenport a few times. I don't know why people may get all resentful because of it, unless the player is cursing at the audience as they go  *and even that has happen*

As for Roddick...I think he's too emotional for his own good.

Okay, I jsut read my post again - and sadly I was caught at the wrong time when I wrote that rather aggressive piece.

Appologies - I'd edit it if you hadn't already quoted it ;)

And I'm not sure you understand me - He didn't sign for ANYONE. And no, I have not seen a single player do that after winning a match, ever.

I am not denying that some don't. But I will say that in those tournaments I went to, I am yet to see anyone else do it.

I have seen players practicing not sign, and players who lost no sign - but NOT the winner of a tough match.

Chloe le Bopper

I might point out that I've seen the ends of likely about 2 dozen matches (i'm happy to look them all up, I have it written somewhere) - and not a single other player I have watched, has done this - after WINNING the match.

Some of them include - Kafelnikov, Nalbandian, Marat, Seles, Hingis, Widjaja, Irvin (she signed after losing), Haas, Henman, Sampras, Grosjean, Santoro, Canas, Koubek - would you like me to go on?

well, It happens...winning doesn't necessarily mean the player is going to be signing autographs left and right. There're times when they make a quick exit.

I never said it meant they would sign left and right *scans posts to look for anything that even slightly resemebled this* *finds nothing of the sort* :)

I merely pointed out for the 23049309483204982309428309482309482094832048309482 3094820948209842309th time - I have been to MANY matches, and have never seen a player sulk off without acknowledging ONE little fan. I have seen some sign for two then walk off - but none? Never seen it, ever.

Rios was more pleasant that Andy that day ;)

I find it odd that you seem to think this is such a comment event, yet I have never seen it ever aside from this day.

Gee, it must just be a coincidence that the matches I go to, the players don't end up a sulking baby at the end :)

Chato - I am happy to respond to further comments from you, provided you actually read and comprehend what I am saying before responding to it.

I don't see anyone doing any of what you just said - I'm the one who started with the autograph bit, and if you think that I am an "Andy Hater", then I'd like to know what exactly you have been reading.

I don't mean to get personal, but it irks the hell out of me when people seem to be replying to me, but make zero sense out of anything that I have, and derive their own ideas about me etc etc.

Memento was such a strange little movie. I think they should do a sequel just so that I would get what the hell happened in the first onehttp://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Boy! He was probably tooooooo guilty then :o I just don't get why Sampras remains so loyal to him. Especially, now that he has a child of his own. Maybe there's more to the story than we think...
