La liberté dans la tête
Et la vérité debout

Et si c’était vrai si c’était vrai
Qu’est-ce qu’on en ferait
Et si c’était vrai
Est-ce qu’on y croirait

Et du pain à toutes les tables
Et de l’eau pour chacun
De l’amour non coupable
Et le droit d’être quelqu’un
Et de la place pour tous
Pendant qu’on est en vie
Et des roses qui poussent
Sur le fumier d’aujourd’hui

Et puis toi mon amour

Et l’humanité humaine
Dans la voix des humains
Et puis le chant des baleines
Qu’on entendrait enfin

Must of been mid afternoon
I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out and
He walked with a purpose
In his sneakers, down the street
He had, many questions
Like children often do
He said,
"Tell me all your thoughts on God?"
"Tell me am I very far?"

Must of been late afternoon
On our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars
Skip the cracks, in the street
And ask many questions
Like children often do
We said,
"Tell me all your thoughts on God?
"'Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God,
Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far -
Am I very far now?"

Its getting cold picked up the pace
How our shoes make hard noises in this place
Our clothes are stained
We pass many, cross eyed people
And ask many questions
Like children often do

"Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far?"
Am I very far now
Am I very far now
Am I very far now

Everything about the world is sex
And it's a message, of popular culture
Telling all our children how to do it right
And all through their innocence you may ask yourself why?
why the need?
why the need to eroticize our children?

Oh our pretty babies
How they're ready
Oh our pretty babies
Oh how they're not ready

Just down the street in beautiful
There is tension, for a popular child
And it doesn't get much worse than that
In little beds in little rooms
Are the lost things, are the silver spoons
Why the need?
Can't you see all the damage that it's doing?

Oh our pretty babies
Oh how they're ready
Oh our pretty babies
Oh how they're not ready

And does it bother you to see her
Wrapped up?
Why the need?
And why the need to eroticize our children?
Oh our pretty babies
Oh how they're ready
Oh our pretty babies
Oh how they're not ready

If it has a storyline, it isn't porn, I say! :p

Well I don't mean to piss you off
With things I might say
So when I try to shut my mouth
They come out anyway
So when I speak my mind
That's when we connect
Yeah, but that's not
Politically correct

Your head's so filled with thought
You can't use your imagination
Like a sky so filled of stars
You can't find a constellation
And everyone's so sensitive
To any bad vibrations
You're so impressing
While we're regressing

Cause I don't mean to piss you off
With things I might say
When I try to shut my mouth
They come out anyway

There's nothing I believe in more
Than my own insignificance
So why does everybody think
My words can make a difference

I just don't have time to think up
Every social consequence
Just keep on talking
And you keep applauding

And I don't mean to piss you off
With things I might say
But when I try to shut my mouth
They come out anyway
And if you spoke you mind
You might feel more connected
Until you stand
Politically corrected

You lean a little to the left or the right but
You can only see who's on your side
You look a little like a deer in the headlights
A little blind and hypnotized
So you conform with the best of intentions
Change comes from inside
Cause after all that's what this country was founded on
Do nothing different just fall in line

Tell me
What happened
To make us
So afraid that
You couldn't
Make a Mel Brooks movie today
I saw "Blazing Saddles" yesterday

I don't mean to piss you off
With things I might say
But when I try shut my mouth
They come out anyway

I love SR-71 :D

There is a 14-pointed star in Malaysia's flag. Yes, 14! All those times when I was in primary school and we had to do yet another flag drawing exercise... that star... :fiery:

Does this fit the profile of our Queen Goober?

Are you in the company of an Acadian?
You will know if the following apply!

Things to remember: "Our culture is filled with love, music and a "let's get along attitude."

This is what we live by:
Let the good times roll.
Come into my life.
Let's get along.
Always committed to having a good time.
Our hospitality is like no other. "you are all welcome"
Our spontaneous music is passionate, soulful and uplifting and to this day remains a GREAT celebration of life in exactly the same way of our ancestors.

If you are having a problem with an Acadian from Southwest Nova Scotia Canada, any problem, might it be language related, racial problem, or any other problem, question the company you are keeping as there is a high probability that he or she is NOT a true Acadian/Acadien! True Acadians always find a way to get along, our culture would have it no other way!

"The Sept. 11th fund has raised nearly $400 million for victims' families."

That's nice an all, but a lot of them probably don't need the money... ever heard of life insurance? And where are all these donations when someone's parents die in a car crash? Just because it's not a terrorist attack doesn't mean they're not suffering.

I know several Irish people (one whose family came from Belfast) and they are just lovely! They don't have a bad rep in Aus, in fact Aussies love the Irish. This other friend of mine has a naughty trick. Once in a while, she'll pretend she's Irish (she can do the accent quite convincingly it seems) and the guys fall over themselves to buy her beers!

Although, Claire, now that you mention it.... my boss does have a colleague working in the UK, and he has said that he'd consider sending me for a short trip there once I got enough experience...hrmm... that may be a possible opportunity in the future. :D

LOLOL, I prefer your list, so it looks like both of us wouldn't mind trading! LOL

I'd like to see so many historical sites in Europe... In Australia, if it's more than 150 years old, it's considered "historical"... one of my German friends had a funny response to this "Pfff, my grandmother's house is older than that!"

i dont know, i think most people dont really care so it will probably stay, but if Northern Ireland join with the Republic then we will get the Euro

I think it's amazing... that's only a few years after the French revolution, people were still riding around in horse + carriage, and wrote with quill and ink, no electricity etc. etc. I would love to have a house that old.

Do you think Northern Ireland will eventually join the Republic of Ireland in the near future, or much farther along?

i dunno, there can only be 1 referemdum (sp?) every 4 years so if there is one now they cant be another 1 for a while, but a lot of people want to join the south for better business opertunites but others want to stay here because of the NHS etc. it will probably go eventually but right now im not sure, there is still a Unionist majority so probably not

Wow, that was interesting to know, thanks.. I didn't realize it had already reached the stage where people are considering the pros and cons and a referendum etc.

zanychick
09-07-2002, 02:00 PM
a while back Sinn Fein were being nice to the DUP (extreme nationalists being friendly to extreme unionists NEVER happens) so everyone thought they were going to ask for a referendum but it didn't happen so we will have to wait and see. there are still the bigots who won't even think about pros and cons but most people have some form of opinion on what they think will happen in the future

zanychick
09-07-2002, 02:09 PM
no, i dont live in that kind of area, that sounds really snobby but it is true, in belfast that is mainly in the north/north-east and i live in the south-west but belfast isn't that big. all the violence at the minute is on Short Strand which isn't all that far from me and you can hear the army helicopters there at night but i know nothing would ever happen on my street, its not like the big flag flying streets you see on tv (sorry if that offends anyone) its just a secluded nice place with a lot of trees, its actually a private road so no violence can happen here unless the people who live here start it and they wouldn't do that
