Yep, but it's really scary, Ezel with sooooo much make-up!!

HIDE THE KIDS FOR VTM!!!!!! ;);) *shiver*

I think we will never hear Kim singing on tv 'Dannette van danone, op elke uur van de dag, ....' She's far too classy for that!
Although, Lleyton is in commercials too, so who knows?;)
I think she's more 'a shampoo-girl' or maybe she can promote some dipers in the near future!;)
What do you all think?

Two problems in that commercial:

2) she acted too unnatural, not relaxed

Paolo Leonardi

All 16-year old Girls are dreaming about their prince charming.
In Kims imagination, his name was ... Patrick Rafter! She had a lot of posters of the Australian playboy hanging on the wall in her room, but she had also posters of her other idol, Steffi Graf.

When she left for the Australian Open 2000, Kim had a double mission: playing good matches in the first slam of the year and getting an autograph for...her sister Elke.
When she was eliminated in the first round, Kim managed to approach the handsome Lleyton and she didn't had to beg to get an autograph from the blond haired and blue eyed Australian!
The two teenagers exchanged looks and phonenumbers and a few days after the tournament, Lleyton invited Kim to a party of... Patrick Rafter himself!

Instead of brown hair, Kims prince charming had blond hair!
"When they have the occasion, the two lovebirds spend their time together." explains Steven Martens, "but the worst thing is that Kim had a boyfriend at the vtv-center. He heard the news on tv!"

Capriati doesn't know yet, but Saturday, she'll have a Belgian supporter!

I know it's nothing new, but I thought Lleykinews is Lleykinews!!;)

I have to read like 40 pages from my old testament book for our quiz Thursday. He askes the most obscure details for the readings! How am I supposed to remember every word out of 40 pages? Impossible! My classes this semester are so intollerably difficult.

I also have to study for an english quiz, read a short book on Anne Bradstreet, write a speech, and write two papers... one is a formal research paper, and the other is an opinion paper using a biography of a civil war leader.

I changed my minor. Instead of minoring in history I decided to minor in International Studies. It goes along more with my Political Science major. I'll still probably take a lot of history classes though. I like it. Just not the really hard ones. :p

Did you guys know that Hewitt approached Ferrero and asked him to team up in doubles the end of this year? Ferrero had already planned to play with Robredo though.

Still, next year we might possibly see Ferrero/Hewitt in a few tournaments :D

don't know if Steven really is right about this story... hope not (for the boy).
However I always thought nothing serious was going on before Lleyton came along... maybe the boy was serious about it, but apparently Kim wasn't... :o Forgotten to tell him she was with lleyton :o

Steven Martens is the Belgian Davis team captain btw.
He also is leading the VTV centre in Wilrijk (Antwerp), that was Kim's tennis school. VTV stands for the Flemish Tennis association, is the governing body of Flemish Tennis.

Elke went there too, until recently, when she pulled out after being quite unsatisfied with them lately.

It's about Lleyton being incapable of getting a damn first serve in. It's as if he's forgotten that it's supposed to go OVER the net INTO the box. I really thought he and Jason would've worked on that, but I guess he didn't train much last week.
Being able to serve aces is all well and good, but if it means that every first serve that isn't an ace lands in the net or off the court, I'm not sure it's worth it. He could've taken out Agassi if his serve had gone in. Agassi's the second best returner in tennis, giving him second serves on every point did not help Lleyton's cause. Also the 11 double faults. Aces DEFINITELY aren't worth it if he's just going to cancel them all out.

In other news, YAY KIMMMY! I was so, so nervous when I woke up this morning. I couldn't go back to sleep because my stomach was all jumpy, so I had to come check the scores. And not only did she win, but she won quite easily! Ha! Revenge!
I really think she has a shot against RT. Let's hope.

I totally agree with you Jilli, It really irks me a lot the way his 1st serve has been well since Cincinatti really, If it doesn't improve soon I mean the other players are going to see it as a definite weakness and attack it more. I mean even Mankad broke his serve  I also agree with you re the Agassi match he spent 10 minutes reflecting on what he missed out on in the locker room coz he knew that he should have been in the Final of the USO. And the 11 df's pfffff :o

That happens to me sometime when Lleyt, Kim or Greg *cough* Are playing @ night and I can't watch it my stomach ties up in knots and I can't sleep all night. I just toss and turn wondering about the scores :o Revenge is sweet :D I highlighted a quote from Kimmy in the CCL which she said she was really motivated by the thought of getting revenge http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/FIREdevil.gif

I'm quite optimistic that she'll beat RT tomorrow :D No doubt Pred 2 will beat Frazier

Rent is huge in NY. It's been on Broadway for years and is showing no signs of going anywhere. The music is incredible, really catchy and moving at the same time. It's a beautiful play, but pretty tragic/depressing. Joey Fatone is in it now.
I got to see Daphne Rubin-Vega, the original Mimi (the female lead) last year in The Rocky Horror Show, and she was so great...

Hewitt plans to reduce schedule
Sept. 18, 2002
SportsLine.com wire reports

ADELAIDE, Australia -- Lleyton Hewitt plans to reduce his schedule next year so he can rest more for major events and prolong his career.

Hewitt said Wednesday that retaining his No. 1 ranking has been a goal this year. The 21-year-old Aussie last year became the youngest player to hold the top spot.

He said that would be secondary in 2003 to winning the two Grand Slams that have eluded him -- the Australian Open and French Open -- and another Davis Cup trophy for Australia.

"Last year, to finish the youngest ever No. 1 in the world, it really meant a lot to try to back it up again two years in a row," Hewitt said after practice for a Davis Cup series against India that begins Friday.

"Next year I'll probably try to concentrate a little bit more on Grand Slams and Davis Cup."

Hewitt said cutting some events might prevent burnout. He started on the professional circuit at 16 in 1998.

"I think I'll probably have a longer career because of that, if I make some smart scheduling moves within the next couple of years," he said.

Hewitt played 20 tournaments plus four Davis Cup events in 2000 and 22 tournaments and four Davis Cup series last year. His schedule is all the more draining because he often advances to the semifinals and finals.

This year he has played 16 tournaments -- for a 50-11 record -- plus Australia's Davis Cup loss to Argentina. He had a slow start because of his recovery from chicken pox but won four titles, including Wimbledon.

Last month he was fined $103,000 by the ATP Tour for failing to do a pre-tournament interview with ESPN in Cincinnati. The fine is under appeal.

Ana, I wrote my paper, here it is for your reading displeasure :p

It's not the best but I really don't care about the subject so I just spouted it out to get it over with. The citations aren't polished but that doesn't really matter.

Creation Myths – A Comparison of Puritans and Seneca Indians

All people on the earth have an idea of how the planet and the beings living on it were formed. To many cultures these ideas take the form of creation myths that are considered in most instances to be supernatural, and something to be revered. The Puritans and the Seneca Indians of the 17th century are no exception. Both cultures have longstanding traditions and beliefs of how they came into being. In the following paragraphs I will explain and compare the myths of these two groups of people.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth,” states the Puritan’s Old Testament (Genesis 1:1). Though neither story goes into great depth about how this creation occurred, both affirm that it did. They both explain that the heavens were above the earth, which was a landless watery wasteland. However, God was lurking above these waters planning the event that would bring about humanity and all that surrounds it.
Before the creation can take place, there must be a source of light to illuminate the earth. For the Seneca Indians, this light came from a bright orb atop a very tall tree (p 48). The Puritan’s myth does not really say where this light came from. God merely commanded that there be light, and there was light. He called the period of light “Day,” and the period of darkness “Night” (Genesis 1:5). Now having light to see, both myths could continue with the creation of the earth.
In order to continue their acts of creation, both myths affirm that there must be land on which stand. The Puritan myth states that God called the waters to come together, and the areas where the water had left became land (Genesis 1:9). The Seneca Indians’ idea of the creation of land is much more romantic and poetic. They believe that first a great turtle was called forth from the waters. Then, beings dove into the water and brought land from beneath the surface. When placed on the turtle’s back, the land and the turtle grew and created a large area of dry ground (p 47).
Now that there was land, vegetation could be placed upon the earth. In the Puritan myth, God called to the land and commanded it to produce many different kinds of plants (Genesis 1:11). The Seneca myth describes the great Sky Woman releasing the seeds that she had brought from the heavens onto the earth. As they touched the ground, the seeds grew into all forms of plants (p 47-48). Although the method of events is again different, the general result remains the same in both myths.
“God made two powerful lights, the brighter one to rule the day, [the darker one] to rule the night” (Genesis 1:16). This declaration is a bit repetitive since the Puritan myth had already explained that there was light before these sources were created. The Sky Woman created the stars with the contents of a bag she carried, and then her grandson hurled his mother’s breast into the sky to create the moon (p 51). The sun’s creation in the Seneca myth was described in the third paragraph. Again, the two myths have similar results, with the Seneca myth going into slightly more creative detail.
The creation of plants allowed for animals to be placed on the earth, since the animals required the plants to survive. Again the Puritan’s story of creation does not go into much detail, it merely states that God commanded the earth to give life to the different types of animals, and the earth did so (Genesis 1:24). In the Seneca myth, the Sky Woman’s grandson, Good Mind, was sent to find his father. After going through some tests, he met his father who gave him the “bags of life” (p 49). When Good Mind was returning to the Sky Woman, the bags began to shake and soon all the animals of the earth came out of them.
The next element was surely the most important one to the people of both cultures. With vegetation, animals, light, and land, the earth was now ready for man. The Puritan myth states “God created humans to be like himself” (Genesis 1:27). In the Seneca myth, it was Good Mind who created humans. Good Mind saw his reflection in the waters and decided to make man to look like him, so he took some clay and molded men and women, which upon the ground sprang to life (p 52). Furthermore, in the Puritan myth, God told man that they had his blessing to rule over his creation (Genesis 1:28). The same applies in the Seneca myth; Good Mind gave the world to man and declared that they are descended from the “Ancient Bodied One,” or the Sky Woman (p 53). The similarities in the creation of man in both myths are striking. In both, the deity figure created man from his own image and gave man the right to rule over all of creation.
“By the seventh day God had finished his work, and so he rested” (Genesis 2:2). Both myths include an ending that has the creator leaving his creation behind. In the Seneca myth, Good Mind returned to the heavens with the rest of the “first beings,” leaving man behind to populate and look over the earth (p 53). The creation was completed, and now it was up to man to explore the world around them.
In both myths, a powerful deity creates the heavens, the earth, and man in his own image. These deities command things to be and they are so; therefore, God is transcendent, or above the material universe (p 40 tullock). Of course there are many differences in the two myths, such as the singularity of God in the Puritan myth and many deity figures in the Seneca myth. Still, the similarities are striking. Both myths have a similar core to their narrative, and one could speculate that perhaps both myths originate from one myth that has just been confused and changed over the years. This is especially true of the Seneca myth due to the fact that they had no written language and passed down their history in tales told from elders to youngsters. While neither myth can be proved to be true, the fact that creation exists makes them impossible to discount.

Well, I would guess that she was unhappy because of the way she was playing--she obviously didn't feel well, and her playing really reflected it. But there are other possibilities, of course. Don't think she was fighting with Lleyton, because they did things together afterwards and seemed happy enough, but maybe she was fighting with her family--or with Carl. Wasn't it a very short while later that they announced they were splitting?

Come to think of it, it was VERY soon after that she and Carl announced their split. So chances are she knew about it during RG. And I can see why that would upset her.
