British number one Tim Henman and his wife, Lucy, are delighted to announce the birth of their first child, a baby girl born on Saturday October 19. The baby was born at 05:07 BST at London's Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital and weighed eight pounds, four ounces.

The parents have decided to call their new arrival Rose Elizabeth. The birth went smoothly and both Lucy and Rosie are doing well.

"I absolutely delighted," said Tim. "It's obviously something Lucy and I have been looking forward to for most of the year and I'd like to thank everybody at the Hospital for all their help. I'd also be very grateful if our privacy would be respected at this special time."

An official picture of the proud parents and Rosie will be released shortly. The new father plans to be back on the ATP Tour in time to attempt to defend his title at the $1,000,000 International Series event in Basel, which begins on Tuesday October 22.

Congrats to the Henman's! :bounce: But I hope Tim doesn't play next week even if he is the defending champion. He is a 100% class act. And I hope he comes to his senses and stays home with his girls! :)

And next year, he will win Wimbledon. Why? Because he'll want to show his daughter than her father could be Wimbledon champion!

 @ TC!
