Head to head its not really positive: Llodra 1-0

2002 Los Angeles, Hard, R16 CA, U.S.A. Hard R16 Llodra won 3 6 6 3 6 7

I'm scared because when seb is playing a french he doesn't play well I don"t know why so.. let's stay positive you're right !!

Seb usually doesn't play great tennis when he faces a french but I noticed that since last year he improved his victory percentage agains french players.
And Llodra hasn't played a match so far, has he ? Whereas seb played three matches (and two and a half matches were very good tennis) so we can stay positive :-)
And he reached the quarters for the last 2 years, so he can play good tennis and handle this first match !!! Allez seb !!

I dont really worry about Llodra.. The worst thing for me is that he meets Roddick so early in the tournament ..

But maybe I SHOULD worry about llodra first.. I dont really know this guy, havent seen him that often.. I know hes good in doubles..

Llodra is a very good form, he worked a lot this winter to prepaer the new season, and is very motived, he played well in Sydney.

His reaction about the draw is quite strange..lol

(audio itw)

about the first round...he said there are most difficult matches, and easier matches maybe...- didn't say it was going to be hard- then talked about Arnaud who was going to play hewitt again, and fabrice /federer... in short, he's seems more disapointed for the others than for him. lol
(I think though it will be a very tough match !! )

Looks like Seb is playing Tuesday. I'm hoping to go to the Open on Thursday. As soon as they open the gates I'm going to .....walk very fast.....:) ....to the court Seb is playing in that day and get front row seats right near where he sits (where I hope he'll sit!. :) That way you get some good views and photos when he's walking back to his seat. :)

Of course this all depends on whether he's in an outside court. If it's Rod laver or Vodaphone I haven't got much hope of seeing him. :( (No hope if it's Rod Laver). :(

I'm worried about his first two matches - actually I'm worried about his whole draw. :(

But only a little bit worried - Us Grosjean fans have learnt to have hope and really, who knows what he is capable of this season! Esp. after the changes of last year.

So if you're there on Thursday and you see a woman and two girls sitting behind the players seats at 10am, come and say hi! :)

We're also thinking of making a cheering sign (as I'm too scared to cheer with my voice). *laughs*

Does anyone have any good ideas of what to write on the sign? I'd like to write him a message in French, but unfortunately I don't know French. :(

Any ideas?

Sammy

He plays against a parisian, so you can write "ALLEZ MARSEILLE", I'm sure both players will understand the meaning.
Seb is from Marseille and a big fan of Marseille football club, Micka Llodra is a fan of PSG (Paris football club), and in general, both towns are big ennemies. I know thr players like to make fun each other about their fav' clubs.

(Only problem: I hate Marseille football club, I prefer Paris... lol)

Hehe, well I won't be at his court all day waiting for his match (presuming he makes it through to Thursday).... because unfortunately nearly all my favourite players are in his half of the draw so I'll be scuttling around EVERYWHERE!!!

But, if I can, I'll head to where he will be playing and have a look out for you :yeah:

GO SEB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

*sigh* he looked SO hot in black!!!!!!!!!!! This is what happened today....

TUESDAY REPORT
Today was meant to be all exciting for me because JC, Guillermo, Arnaud and Seb were all playing...Unluckily for me Arnaud and Guille were both on Rod Laver which meant i couldnt get in and JC's match would have been packed. So, it turns out that it would be another day dedicated to our precious Seb.

We got there around an hour before Seb's match against Mika Llodra was going to start to try and catch someone at training, but we didnt have any luck. Rachael (who was wearing a t-shirt with a photo of Seb on it, and i was too), Marcelo, Prazz, Via and myself were lucky enough to get front row seats just behind Seb's chair so we were really close to him!! The only downside was that we didnt get a great view of the match because we were blocked by umbrellas and poles etc. but we could still see what was going on. I was surprised to see that he drew quite a few people...the court was PACKED and there were even some people standing and trying to get in.

Nothing too important to report back from the match...He didnt seem to be in amazing form or anything and he did win comfortably in 3 sets but it wasnt anything spectacular, like the Seb we saw playing here last year. Hopefully it was just a warm-up match Hes got an easy second round match, then could play Massu third round then Roddick and i think if hes going to give himself a chance, he's going to have to step up his game. Well, thats just the impression i got from today's match. I found out later that Arnaud was actually practising during Seb's match and i was really disapointed that i missed that *kicks self*

After it finished, he was absolutely mobbed (by brats too ugh) and two people yelled out 'Sebastien, can i have your towel?' and Rachael and I looked at each other in shock lol because 1) why should someone who doesnt even appear to be a fan get his towel and 2) i didnt think he would give away his towel but he did and gave it to the people who asked *disappointed*. He signed heaps of autographs then saw Rachael's t-shirt and looked at it and goes 'It's me!!!' and looks up and Rachael and gives her a huge grin. She then said something like 'yeah that's you!!' and he signed it and appeared very flattered hehe. I was encouraged to get my t-shirt signed as well, but didnt really want to because i thought it would look tacky if he saw Rach's and then a few minutes later saw mine, but yeah. I've lost my crazy no-shame killer instinct this year i think lol, i was so much braver last year. Anyway, he kept signing and i asked him "Where have you been training Seb?! We've been trying to catch you at practise but we havent been able to find you" and he looked over looking a bit amused and didnt answer lol. He looked like he was going to though.

We didnt do much for the rest of the day at all because there werent any other matches we were particularly interested in, but i get calls from Prazz and Nathalia later on in the afternoon with them saying 'GET TO COURT 11 NOW, i'm standing next to Seb!" Alas, he was watching Paulo's match and sitting right at the end of the row, where we coudl just stand next to him. Everyone was yelling at me to do or say something again, but again i was too shy but eventually asked him if we could get a photo and he said yeah, but after the set. So we waited...and waited...and waitied...and planned on what we would ask him:
1) Do you remember us from last year
2) Are you watchin Arnaud tonight
3) What are the yellow and blue wrist bands around your wrist (he has been wearing them all week)
4) WHERE ARE YOU PRACTISING

When the set finally ended, he got up and seemed to forget about what he had promised us, so we had to catch up to him and quickly asked him where the hell he was pratising! He said he didnt know when or where he'd be practising, but if we would be there tomorrow because he'd be there sometime during the day. We could have guessed that!!!! That was about it, we didnt have time to ask anything else and he looked eager to get away before anyone else recognised him.

That was basically my day...Should have caught another match because i didnt feel my money was very well spent lol but it was great to see Seb on the court again. I'll be back there Thursday, cant afford to go tomorrow, and hopefully he'll play well then. I got HEAPS and HEAPS of beautiful photos of Seb thanks to my beautiful boyfriend who took about 90 photos during that match for me LOL so i'll get them on here soon.

Well, Seb said his new coach has a different "speech", he obliges him to give more at training, and he admited he vomited after hard training sessions.
(Excuse me, I know my sentence is not correct but I dunno how to say)

i now have a theory about why seb ran away from esther on tuesday.... he's suffering from bad hair day ;)

(looking nervously over his shoulder...)

It was like fluffy towel dried hair..

I managed to see him practice today - he was in a great mood, smiling, looking gorgeous etc etc. I asked him yesterday if he was practicing today
and he said yes, just not the specifics. I found out he was practicing on court 5, so I bolted down the stairs from the Gael match (with bags in tow).

I didn't get anything signed, just took some more pics and watched him play. I asked him if he remembered me from last year at Kooyong and the Open (one of the many questions Esther and I wanted to ask!!) but he said "I remember you from yesterday". (I'm hoping it was the t-shirt signing, he was pleased about that). I missed an opportunity to take a photo with Seb and my husband because I'm a wally with my camera and just completely froze. I can't even talk about that now

Anyway, hoping he has a brilliant match tomorrow and one day I will get that elusive photo with Seb that is not dark, blurry or just completely non-existant.

Did anyone else get to see him/talk to him so far?? I'm so pleased with how he's been, ie: very patient and sweet.

Seb on the cover of L'equipe... " A new Grosjean "

http://www.lequipe.fr/vp/imgopt.php?IMAGE=http://www.lequipe.fr/Quotidien/une/une19012005_hd.jpg&QUALITE=60&WIDTH=290

Yes Seb is fiter... ;)

ARGH so on Tuesday I felt awful coz I only saw the last set of Seb's match! I was on Andrei Pavel's match next door instead... I dashed across and got to see the last set of Seb's match (somehow finding a seat!). Then I got trampled when Hewitt decided to practice on the court behind me... I don't just mean little kids either, there were granny's, kids, ALL ages trampling me to hang over the back of the court and watch Hewitt  I managed to get some decent photos after the match while he was signing and I think I saw him smile at Rachael lol

Yesterday I found Seb practicing so I hung around and watched him for 40 mins before I wanted to go watch a match... I wanted a photo with him but there was no one I knew around to take one! Still, I took quite a few while he was practicing :)

Today Andrei and Seb's matches aren't such a big clash so I should be able to get there a lot earlier! Court 2 will be a lot easier to get a seat at too!!

1-6 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-3 Lisnard.

Do i have to precise Seb was winning 6/1 4/0 before injuring... yes...Seb injured AGAIN , and fought deseperetly (wquite wierd) until the end.
He didn't want to retire, he didn't accept this new injury.
I guess he's sad and totally depressed, he workded a lot this winter, in the order not to injure again, and it didn't pay...so I hope he won't be too muc affected mentally. :bigcry:

have you heard about that movie called '50 first dates'?? :p

for fans like us, every year we have to renew our acquaintance with the players as if we've just met

That's so funny! :D
Pretty exhausting too.

We (Esther, James, Marcelo, Prazz and myself) just came back from Seb's shocking defeat. I tried so hard not to cry like a baby because I was so upset. We were there again in the first row, cheering our brains out, but he just didn't make it.

what happened? I went to bed after the first 2 sets , couldn't sleep (it's very stormy here and the noise kept me up  ) got up and checked the scores and he lost the third  .Went back to bed and he then lost the 4th and 5th ???

Oh well , at least I can get some sleep for the rest of the tourney :p

It seems (they said it at radio) Brad Stine wonders if Seb will be able to continue his carrier like that without injuring every months...the coach was pessimistic and depressed, that's horrible to hear that.
Any smiley can mean my feelings...

He played so well in the first and second - he looked so energized. Then he kind of got progressively worse. He looked like he grimaced a couple of times and we were looking for signs of limping as well. He just lost the bounce he had in the first 2.

I didn't think he'd go far in the tournament, so I'm not that disappointed about him losing the match. But another inury! That must be sooooooooooo frustrating for an athlete.

good luck for next tournament!!! Bonne chance a Seb!!!!!!

so weird that they've got the very similar stats!
Seb & Lisnard- 52 unforced errors
- Total points won- 146
- winner 43

And Serb's fastest serve was 213km/h!!! The fastest in Seb's record? He's getting better!!! (A new Seb  )

Arrr I have never seen Seb wearing such kinda rubber bracelet... or anything on his arms... I knew it was Nike Respect bracelet coz my friend had that, too!!!

Seb was interviewed on Eurosport News ; I just saw it when I came in from work ; he said he felt a tear in his thigh in the first few games  and carried on ( I suppose he didn't want to retire again in Aus  )

He then went on to say it was something he had to accept

Peta, did anything happen when you saw him practice yesterday?? What time were you there?

Nothing happened. He was smiling and happy and joking. It makes me sadder thinking back how he was still in the tournament and not injured then.

I was there at 11am until about 11.40. I hoped someone I knew would come along so I could get a photo. I ran into Prazz later and she showed me where she got her book signed. I realised you guys had showed up, I just took off a bit too early.

I think I am destined never to get a photo with him, but I always have memories :)

I also believe I am personal jinx for my players today and I wish I hadn't gone at all! What a CRAP day!!!!!!

hat's terrible I thought to Seb the whole day. I was anxious about his reaction (new unjury...), but I feel better now I listened to his interview. He's sad, disapointed, but he seemed rather positive, he hopes it's not too grave, and he wants to continue his efforts etc... oufffff

aii the fourth picture shows his pain??

Ooooooh I sooooo hope that he will be well soon.. Somewhere I knew it too that he wouldnt come far, like Wilma, but still for some reason I'm sadder then ever..
Maybe its because he won the first two sets easily..

This whole AO sucks. All my favs are out (including Misha Krajicek), and its only showed on Eurosport :fiery: and only in the night (1 AM) and in the morning.. And since I want to see the highlights (which begins at 12:00 AM  ) and therefore cant wake up early, AND have to learn for my exams I can hardly see any tennis :fiery: damn timedifference.. :)
Okay thanks guys for listening, just to say that, feel much better :p

I'm sad now.

Let's hope he recovers from his injury soon.

I'm annoyed that I missed him on Tuesday. I was gonna go and see him play but didn't end up going. I thought he'd last and I'd be able to see him this weekend. Boo-hoo :(

That's what I am worried about most. I am so eagerly looking forward to him squeezing his way to shanghai tmc. The year of 2003, he had great hopes but finally missed Houston. And last year... but I do hold firm mind this year that he can finally make it while one more concern now for us is his new injury...
