Hi all joachim fans, I was watching the match between Fatty Dent and Pim-Pim. All the Pim-Pim fans started singing some song about pim-pim, and the commentators said that it was his theme song. Does anyone know the words??? :wavey: :D ;) :p       :wavey:   :) :worship: :(

Don't know... might have to discuss this one with GWH... unless the commentators were just making it up... I mean, at AO a couple of years ack we all sang "simon Aspelin" to the tune of "Go West"

Here they did not show anything of the match, but I can just imagine that they sang the songs they used to do at the Aussie Open.

Maybe it was something like:

* Kom igen Pim Pim kom igen
* Pim Pim är världens bästa, heja, heja, heja, Pim Pim!
* Alla vi som älskar Pim Pim klappar nu. Alla vi som älskar Pim Pim klappar nu
and so on, I love this one!

Not specific for any player, but very popular at swedish sports:
* Andra sidan är ni klara, .... Ja ja mensann fattas bara!

Brings back memories from this time last year! GWH wrote the chants out for me, because I wasnt sure of the pronounciation! I better start practicing now!

PS. Margaret... I've no doubt you'll be screaming this stuff at ToJo next week with the rest of us! :D

Would it be the swedish equivalent of the Spanish Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole soccer chant??

Pim Pim should have yelled kom igen instead of come on since there were so many Swedish fans cheering for him!!!!

I think he should do whatever feels comfortable and natural for him.

I'm sure the Swedish fans there were more interested in his winning than they were on hearing him say "kom igen." For all you know the Swedish fans there might like hearing him say "Come on." Crazy to say he "should" have cried "kom igen" for the Swedish players.

What a small nit picking criticism of Pim Pim. I don't care if he says "allez" "come on" "kom igen" or "vamos."

How to pronounce kom igen?

Kristen
01-10-2005, 12:12 PM
'kom' = similar to the sound when you say 'telecom'...or 'com'puter
'igen' = eey-yen

Please guys, correct me if I'm wrong, or if I havent explained myself properly... lol, I've been screaming this out for years now! :o

Thanks Kristen.
Somehow I think "com-eey-yen" suits for girls to yell out, not guys, not guys like Pim Pim:rolleyes:

I taped his match on sunday and I looked at it again last night and I think they were just yelling "Pim pim Pim pim" over and over. They said it was his theme song cause that's his nickname and everyone in australia kinda adopted him. Hard to tell though- the commentators kept talking about really random things. How very rude:p

I'm really not trying to start an argument, but here is my response to that:
1) How can "come on" feel more natural to him than kom igen given the fact that is not even in his native language.
2) Now I can't be sure about this star, but I take it that you are not Swedish so how can you make such an argument in regards to how the Swedish fans would feel. Let's just put it this way, say that you go all the way to Spain to watch your fave American player (assuming that you are american), and also say that you dress up entirely in red white and blue to root for him. Then, all of a sudden, in the middle of the match, your guy starts yelling out "vamos" instead of "come on", wouldn't you feel bummed? I know I would.

Ok. Have it your way. The Swedish fans would much rather have him lose as long as he said "Kom igen" rather than come on.

Personally I would love it if an American player was saying vamos no matter where he played.

Star, I don't think you get my point, but anyhow... I mean, after reading your two statements: "The Swedish fans would much rather have him lose as long as he said "Kom igen" rather than come on," and "Personally I would love it if an American player was saying vamos no matter where he played," I am positive that you don't understand what I am trying to say.
There's really no need for you to give these defensive answers as I am not trying to offend you or Pim Pim.

:rolleyes:Maybe it's just a personal habit. You know, when something become your habit, normally you won't spend to much time to think about how to do it. I mean, when Pim Pim yells out "come on", he doesn't need to grab out his dictionary and to look up how to say "kom igen" in English. It just slips out of his mouth naturally. As for how Swedish fans would react, I don't know coz I'm no Swedish(although I wish I were), then I don't know. What I know is, I'll be very impressed to hear Pim Pim saying "Jia-you' which means "come on" in Chinese.:D
