Those Indian guys have posted impressive wins.

Yeah, nice work by Mankad and Sridhar. It is the first time that two Indians are reaching the final qualies at Chennai (in nine editions held out there). In fact and Indian reaching the final round itself has happened only twice before (Mankad in 98 and Vishal Punna last year). I hope at least one of them can pull one more upset and make the main draw.

Congrats go to Harsh Mankad for becoming the first Indian to ever qualify into the Chennai Open draw, in 9 years. Excellent upsets over the 3rd and 5th seeds. He made a statement to the tournament who didn't help him a bit last year and did not give him even a doubles wildcard this year, despite him being the first Indian since Paes and Bhupathi to crack top-200 in doubles last year, and despite him being the Indian #1 in singles for several months at the end of 2004. He will again be #1 next week and he has made his statement loudly!
