Magnus Norman Having an awesome week

10-03-2002, 11:54 AM
He beat first round George Bastl 6-3 6-0
Then big win second round, beating Juan Ferrero 6-3 6-3
third round opponent, Dent, also went down in flames 6-3 6-2

I've been waiting a year for him to win matches!
He must be doing something right if he hasn't lost more then 4 games in a set :D

Any new pictures of him?
Even if he loses to his next opponent, I don't even know who he is playing, but if he loses, I am still happy he got so far in a tourny.

he plays the other "Swedish crock", Magnus Larsson

Magnus hasn't been the same player since he broke his leg on court when he got to the top 10 back in 1995
he's had alot of other serious injuries too.
now he's 32.

but if he loses, I am still happy he got so far in a tourny.

Ditto :) It's great to see Magnus beat one of the top seeds :D Hopefully this win will be the springboard he needs! :bounce:

I'm sorry he had to topple my fave, but I like him so he's forgiven ;)

It is great to see him finally get some good wins back to back.

Hopefully this will bump up his confidence and is just the start of him bouncing back :)

I am so happy to see him back, and playing good tennis, and the best of all, beating players that are in their 100%, meanwhile he still worrying about his hip, anyway that's so good!!! He beated Ferrero! :D :D :D

With all these great wins, I think that I'll still keeping the faith on him, and saying that his best days on tennis are not over, he still have a lot of tennis to give!:D :D

He just beat Magnus Larsson 7-6(5) 7-5.
Could it get any better after having a crappy year, what is his ranking aobut now?

10-04-2002, 04:52 AM

The hip boys lol

Nice way of putting it ;)

10-04-2002, 06:45 AM
OMG, Lleyton lost. Now, Magnus really could win the whole thing. Go for it, Magnus, you can do it.

10-04-2002, 12:10 PM
"the hip boys" lol.
Magnus next plays Vince Spadea. Spadea beat him just before the Us Open in straight sets 6-3 6-4 or something close to that.
So ain't gonna be a cakewalk.
I don't like Spadea so I hope Magnus beats him.
Go Magnus

10-04-2002, 01:14 PM

It was great that he has won against Larsson!:bounce:

Oh....I'm already dreaming with him in the finals and winning the title....

I hope he can do it, I know that he'll give his best as always, so I'm sure he'll do everything to defeat Spadea, and why not, then he can win the title because Hewitt was dismissed by Sriachaphan! So....go MAGNUS!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I love you!

10-04-2002, 11:04 PM

I don't know about the stuff of the headband, I think that it may be because he has his hair kinda longer.;)

It's soooo great that he's on the finals!!   :D

He's gonna play against the danish Kenneth Carlsen, I guess this guy is playing kinda good tennis because he defeated Sriachaphan who beated Hewitt!; but come on, Magnus is playing great too!:D

So, GO MAGNUS!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Good Luck!!!

Even though he lost in the finals, it still has been a great week.
When I posted this thread he beat G. Bastl and J. Ferrero...
He added wins against Taylor Dent, Magnus Larsson, and Vince Spadea, only to lost to Carlsen in the finals, maybe exhaustion(sp?)?
He mentioned after his match against Costa at Us Open that he was tired after his match and needed to work on his fittness.
Still happy he got thru to the finals and seems to be back on track.

his record before this tournament was 6-16. now it is 11-17

11-17=39% Winning Percentage

Magnus Norman has knee surgery

October 30, 2002

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- Magnus Norman had knee surgery Wednesday, sidelining the Swedish tennis star for a month.

He played his last match a week ago in the Stockholm Open and pulled out of this week's Paris Masters.

In a statement released by Swedish news agency TT, Norman said he hopes to resume training Nov. 27 and is scheduled to play Kenneth Carlsen in an exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Dec. 3.

In 2000, Norman reached the Australian Open semifinals, the French Open final and a career-high ranking of No. 2.

Norman had hip surgery in the United States a year ago and spent three months on crutches. He recently showed signs of regaining his form, advancing to the Japan Open final in October.

We already know the bad news, but come on, his coach has said that Magnus will be ok, I mean, that he's already gonna start to train around the middle weeks of November.
That's good news I guess.

Go Magnus!
