The 2005 calendar will soon be updated with a new ATP international series host city Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The existing Ho Chi Minh challenger will go to Shanghai. Both events are sponsored by Heineken. Shanghai will host the TMC starting next year with Heineken returns too as the main supporter. As a result they can't sponsor two ATP events in the same city. Good to see some changes in the Asian area.

This is sad  I know we can't sponsor two ATP events, but Heineken has companied us for 6 years. Now it's time to say goodbye. maybe I can't watch Jiri playing here any more :bigcry: I will miss Heineken Open forever.

and congrats to Vietnam, same good luck to the players who will be there next year.

Kiss goodbye Heineken Shanghai Open!

Still good that the challenger will be moved here. I wonder if there will be any change to the challengers calendar...the Ho Chi Minh Challenger was in February, if it's moved to Shanghai in the same week 2005, it shall be played indoor.

It is good for Vietnamese tennis, maybe their tennis scene will improve due to this tournament.
Too bad for Shanghai, but at least you get a better tournament with bigger names now.

Actually i more miss the smaller names :bigcry: i miss the days when i watched those not famous boys playing and the efforts they made to win every match.
Jiri and Pala :tears: how i hope them to win once.
Sure we can appreciate more big names and big matches in TMC, but that's a totally different feeling. Seems TMC is like a big attractive lover, but Heineken is more like the Mother, who can't be replaced by anyone else.

We don't know if there will be another potential Paradon in Vietnam, a wild card can trigger sth ;)

Yeah I know what you mean, I like seeing the smaller names too. Its a different feeling than seeing the Masters Cup although both are good. They should take a tournament from the US, they have so many tournaments while China with a bigger population only has one now.
 at the analogy about the lover and the mother ;)
