Rogi Fed vs Lleyton: the big revenge or the big humiliation?

..or in other words: who will win? Rogi or Lleyton? Is the Australian able to beat the in-form Swiss? What do you believe?

I think it's gonna be a great match http://www.mainzelahr.de/smile/sport/whis_tennis02_32290.gif

You don't get revenge for 3 slam losses by beating someone in a match that is likely to be irrelevant.
Going by averages I don't think there will be any more bagels but straight sets for Roger all the same.

I am hoping the fire in Roger from that DC loss last year is still burning hot after all those demolition jobs he did on Hewitt this year- he will need it, judging by the way Lleyton played against Moya he is going to be one tough nut to crack. Whoever wins I think it will be in 3 sets.

And you seriously think Hewitt is going to treat this match as if it's irrelevant? He's going to be giving 100% to get a win over Federer at last in a big event. I only hope Federer is equally committed, because I wouldn't want it to come down to the final RR against Moya, even if the latter is badly off form.

I will be surprised if Feds doesn´t serve us another bagel, maybe even two.
Go Rogi, kick potato´s ass once again. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

No and neither is Federer but its not the end of the world whatever the outcome and both players know it. Last time their match was likely irrelevant was in DC and Hewitt obviously wanted it more.

Roger will steamroll on the 1st set, tiebreak on 2nd with Lleyton winning it, and Roger wins the 3rd, 6-4.

Anyway good luck Roger

federer is the type of player where he gets in the "zone" he can bagel anyone in any given day. just ask hewitt and roddick

I agree - Moya MIGHT take him...he has nothing to lose and Roger might be tight.

I think Lleyton will take Roger out - Roger wasn't brilliant against Gaston but Lleyton was excellent against Careless. However, both Federer and Hewitt were strongest on serve and so I expect a very close encounter. As Federer didn't win many of the big points against Gaudio, and Hewitt did, I reckon the Aussie might edge it.

I reckon Gaudio will edge Moya....Gaston is playing better and is tied 2-2 head-to-head. Also, he has had a day rest - Careless hasn't.

Go Roger, give him another bagel, he desreves it, I can't stand his "Come on", like the one he did at the end of the match against Moya  ... Be decent please ! He looks like an asshole. I hope he will get paralysed like he was all year long against Rogi the King. :worship:

It will be a great match. Lleyton sure does have the fire in his eyes at the moment (but I thought he did at the US Open too  )
Roger loves to defend things so I know he's aiming to go undefeated again at the Cup since he claims he's 100% healthy.
3 sets. GO ROGER!

Hewitt was also in excellent form and hadn't lost a set and had only lost his serve four times entering the USO finals and look what happen to him.

Perhaps but Moya will need to play better then he did against Hewitt and then hope for Roger to have a off day. Roger matches up perfectly with Moya in terms of game styles.

I thought he was better then expected after such a long break.

Depends what frame of mind both players are in, I am guessing Gaudio will be more motivated so he may well win this.

Lleyton was evil after that Moya match. The intensity in his eyes was just  If he pulls out the first set against Fed I believe he has a chance of winning. If Roger wins the first set, he'll be mashed potato.

I don't know what the result will be as Roger is so good.
But we can be assured that no match against Roger is irrelevant for Lleyton.
He will try to win today plus he will try to win again in the final, just to show that it was no coincidence.

Well when Roger's playing well he's a class above Hewitt
The Us open match could eaily have 6-0 6-2 6-0 and only some errors and Hewitt's fight made the score slightly respectable

I think Roger will win something like 6-1 6-3 if he takes all his chances
Won't mind if Lleyton wins though :)

But, I saw anger in Hewitt (in his last RR) due to his personal problems etc. And i dont except him to go down easily like in USO.

But, roger in 3.

And I agree, Whistle, Lleyton did look very angry and more intense than usual during his RR match with Moya. Perhaps he is now throwing all his mental and physical energy into TMC.

One of the Belgians on WTAForum GM said Kim's attending celeb parties in Belgium  WTA Forum (http://www.wtaworld.com/showthread.php?p=4492577#post4492577)
I don't know who's gonna win, but I see passion and rage in Lleyton's eyes  ...in particular after match point that lawnmower/chainsaw fist pump and the "Come On" shriek and the way he punched the air like he was ready to attack someone :o ...he definitely is on a mission.

Well, no Kim and no parents in Lleyton's box and no Hayden either...Is this the beginning of a transition to independence? Maybe it's getting embarassing for a 23 year old to have his parents come to work with him all the time...in contrast to Federer who doesn't even have a coach!

Mrs. B
11-17-2004, 08:53 PM
Roger may not have a coach but he has people travelling with him who know a lot about tennis. Notice the guy sitting next to Mirka who looks a bit like Tim Henman... (that's Reto Staubli and he trains with him)
his mom is also in Houston, as she was last year.

Yes, Lleyton's look is scary and the C'monns are back and louder. :scared:

I'd like to think Lleyton can win this one

but I've been saying that alot this year...

In alot of the matches Roger played against Lleyton this year, they looked to me to be his best performances of the respective tournaments...and at the same time, when Lleyton had come into the match in great form, his serve usually seemed to falter for him

He's given himself plenty of chances, but Federer just plays those important points way too well

I believe if Lleyton can keep everything together and to the best of his abilities, and if Roger doesnt have another one of his blinders, then Lleyton can take the win

Or at the least, NO BAGEL!

This is an extremely interesting question, as many have pointed out i doubt that this time Hewitt is going to back away. Yes if Federer plays to his best abilities theres really no stoping him, maybe a Hewitt at his best abilities, however i think the only man whom at his top can possibly shake off a 100% in form Federer is a 100% in form Safin, hes the only one with the complete package physically that can challenge that of Federers if only he could put it together mentally we would have some rivalry between these two, which i assume can happen any time in the future possibly beginning at this tournie, as the forms of both would suggest. It all began at this years australian open it might be repeated again in MTC final this sunday, however one shall wait and see. I think Hewitt may want to have a say and we will find out just that this very night, Federer must be at his near top form or else, a feisty Hewitt may give him something to think about before all is said and done at the very end of this tennis season. Nonetheless i doubt it would be too much of a disappointment, because Federers year can hardly be matched by any in the history of the game. Only one man has won all 4 slams in one year and that was way back in the 60's and 70's yes what an accomplishment indeed, however Federer's year isn't too far off, hes won 3 one shy of that feat and 3 masters titles along with 4 other titles, how many even in the history of the game can say they've accomplished this? :worship: :worship:
