I miss NJ

I guess we do

Me too.

I think NJ near NYC is a good place to live. NJ itself is quite, but if you want to be active, you can go to Manhattan. :rolls:

Ome
09-15-2007, 10:41 AM
I like about NJ. Not too chaotic unlike NYC

Manhattan

my0118
09-15-2007, 10:49 AM
And driving is much easier.

Yeah.

this thread is now over 15k :rocker:

Yay for 15K

I'm so bored without tennis. I can't wait until AO. :sobbing:

my0118

:wavey:
Well for me, it's really boring even I realised the next week is for DC, not Mumbai. :o

Allure
09-15-2007, 03:47 PM
Who's playing DC? I think the US team is televised.

my0118
09-15-2007, 03:54 PM
I don't know, but I'm sure there's no France team

Allure
09-15-2007, 03:57 PM
Well I'll have a good time watching my team act arrogant. I hope Russia kicks their ass though. ;)

Good that France is not playing. Richie can concentrate on winning titles. ;)

my0118
09-15-2007, 04:01 PM
Russia will not play USA  I guess.

Allure
09-15-2007, 04:02 PM
They can meet in the finals.

Now I see why Richard is playing Mumbai. Last year at this time he played in DC and used that as an excuse for why he lost to Soderling. :o

my0118
09-15-2007, 04:20 PM
that time Soderling was supposed to be more exhausted. :o

Allure
09-15-2007, 04:24 PM
Let's hope he wins a title this year. He hasn't defended one title. :help:

BTW, I found a site that allows you to watch current movies in theatres. ;)

my0118
09-15-2007, 04:33 PM
ooh which site?
Actually I used to watch current movies by downloading.

You don't have to dl. It's watched live. :) Some are bad quality though. :o

my0118
09-15-2007, 04:40 PM
What are you watching?

Allure
09-15-2007, 04:41 PM
Transformers

It saves me buckets of money. :o

my0118
09-15-2007, 04:44 PM
My sister watched it. She said it's pretty good. ;)

Allure
09-15-2007, 04:47 PM
I'm watching it with Chinese subtitles.

BTW, I went to Old Navy yesterday and they had a huge sale. Shirts for $5 and flip flops for $2. Too bad I didn't have a lot of money. I would have bought the whole store. :tape:

my0118
09-15-2007, 04:55 PM
:haha:
There is a thread about Crocs on non tennis. You saying flip flops reminds me of it. :rolls: Crocs are popluar over there?

Allure
09-15-2007, 05:00 PM
I guess. I don't like them though. They are tres ugly. :tape:

BTW, do you have plans for this weekend? :)

my0118
09-15-2007, 05:07 PM
Yeah when my friend was wearing them, I was surprised.

Well I'm supposed to wake up early because I have to go to school tomorrow. :help:
One of my classes has a team project and is planned to give students' own lectures. For it's worse, I dont' have a good relationship with one of my members. :o

What about you Brittany? :)

Allure
09-15-2007, 05:09 PM
Why? Are they hard to get along with?

My dad just gave me a check for my birthday. More shopping for me.

my0118
09-15-2007, 05:13 PM
Well actually what you say is sort of true. There are many geeks in my school. :o

Actually I had a fight with one of my classmates. :o
I once tried to make up and wanted to act like nothing, but turned out he's such a jerk and pathetic loser.
But I don't mind him, I'm just sincerely pity for him. :)

I envy you :crying2:

Allure
09-15-2007, 05:16 PM
If you don't mind me asking, what was the fight about? I had a stupid little banter with my mom yesterday and embarrassed my friend. :o

my0118
09-15-2007, 05:34 PM
You mean you had a little arguement with your mom in front of your friend? :rolls:

It's a little bit complicated.
First, he a little bit was annoyed by the way I talk. I really talk bluntly. He used to accept it, but he once complained it because he was not in a good mood. that was a start. but it was not a main deal.
Actually there has been a girl whom he likes. ( I know this girl also) They both hang around all the time (it's just not hanging out, they take the same classes together, study together and even stay up all night together. It's been about 2 years now) But everytime he asked her to go out, she declined. But she wants to keep him just as a friend. Well he's kind of timid boy and he thinks only the way he can be with her is be with her that way. So they are still hanging around with each other even though his mind is not the same of hers.
And one time there's a sort of mistake from her and other classmates were joking about it. But he defended her. So I gave him a bitter comment. Then the fight started. :haha: Well at that time I realised he's a such a loser. That's why I'm really pity for him. Actually he's not a bad person, but he's a loser. Maybe he thinks the fight between him and me is not related to the girl he likes. But it's obvious when it is looked closer.

What happened was we were walking out of the restaurant and I was prepared to get inside the car on the right side. But my mom got mad and was like, ''Don't go on that side. Go on the other side. You will hit the car next to you if you open the door on that side.'' So I had to walk to the other side to get in. Then I scoot over to the right side of the car because I want to sit there. But my friend opened the door and was like ''Move over I want to sit there.'' And my mom yelled at me to let my friend sit there. It's so stupid.

I see. Well he shouldn't be mad over a petty thing. But it's not nice to call him a loser. I'm a loser too. :o

my0118
09-16-2007, 01:02 AM
I think you have something with your mom, and you're not a loser don't be harsh on yourself. ;)

Well I know it's not nice, but it's the best word for him being described.
If I were him, I wouldn't keep chasing or being with her when I got rejected. :o

Allure
09-16-2007, 02:51 AM

my0118
09-16-2007, 03:45 AM
Richard might have to learn from him. :haha:

BTW Mumbai tourney is only left one week.
But we shouldn't hope too much. :o

Allure
09-16-2007, 03:58 AM
I don't. He is obviously content with his Wimbledon win and whatever happens after is just icing on the cake.

Plus I don't think I can watch due to school. Maybe you can upload it if they show it in your country. ;)

my0118
09-16-2007, 04:21 AM
Well me neither.
Hopefully he just does well there. ;)

You're becoming SW

Allure
09-16-2007, 05:03 AM
Just telling it as it is. ;)

Seriously I feel he is too complacent with his results. He practically said it was okay to do badly in other tournaments because he did well at Wimbledon. Also there have been articles that said his dad doesn't really push him and let him move at his own pace. His father instilled in him that winning is secondary to beautiful tennis. His coach doesn't look like he push Richard either. I'm worried this complacent/laid back attitude will hurt him. (It has already I think) He's already 21. If he keeps accepting mediocrity he won't acheive anything imo.

my0118
09-16-2007, 05:14 AM
Yeah I know.
Looks like his dad spolies him in another way Djoko's dad does.
I think he doesn't have an ardor with winning every match. Certainly he wants to be top 10 or something, but seems he doesn't believe in himself that he's capable of being NO.1 in the world even though he's been told he has enormous talent. On the other hand, with limited talent, Djoko always believes himself he can do that, which is really good for him and made him be where he is now. And the better Djoko has results, the more ambitious he will. I hope Richard has the attitude Djoko has.

Allure
09-16-2007, 05:19 AM
I know. Richard has so much talent but his attitude leaves much to be desired. If only he can match his fighting spirit with his tennis he can be #2 for sure.

My friend's sort of bf is leaving for Oregon on Monday and she's sad about it. I bought her a card and some candy/gum to cheer her up. I don't what else to do. But I think she can find better though. She always think that she has to settle for less because no classy guys will like her. :p

But I realised I could get autographs from players sneakily. I got ones from Kirilenko and Penneta. :rocker2: So I think I'll have many chances to get one from Venus as long as she will reach the semis which is really likely to happen.

I'll tell Richard that he's so fucking talented but has the mentality of a 12 year old girl. Man up! Then I'll ask Nadal what he's playing on the court cause it sure isn't tennis. From Esquimaux's Tokyo report:
The last match was the Gasquet/Schuettler match and Rainier through everything, but the kitchen sink at little Richie. Rainier game is comprised of super flat strokes and they penetrated and stay low because he really LEANS on the ball. Amazing shots to see, but Richard wasn't impressed. What Gasquet does is return serve and shuffle 4-5 FT behind the baseline and strap on his running shoes. I don't know if he always plays like that, but it must be tiring. Richard, you aren't playing on clay right now hun Or maybe it was the depth of Rainier's shots pinning Richard not just to the baseline, but behind it lol. So yeah, Richard did a lot of scrambling and when the opportunity presented itself, he turned the tables. Often Rainier would get impatience and try to bombrush the net and Gasquet would pass him. Rainer also tried Richard's previous opponents technique of trying to pick on Richard's backhand. Richard has good variety with the backhand though. When pressured, he can flatten it out and drive it DTL. But for the most part, Gasquet topspinned Rainer to death lol Not necessarily moonball, but topspinned

Of course, I have not seen the match, and esquimaux has, but from the speed with which the points went, particularly on Richard's serve and the overall shortness of the match, I have some diffculties in believing in long topspin baseline rallies.

Ferrer wont make so many.Richard better not to be passive and serve like today please.

I agree. The match could have been quite different if Berdych had made some of those easy shots. And Richie's backhand, while certainly not bad was not the dominant shot it usually is - it was his serve!! Richie really has to be aggressive tomorrow cuz Ferrer can get balls back all day.

And did anyone notice he wore his lucky Wimbledon "whites" in the second set.

This proves that Richard is not one dimensional. If his bh isn't working he can rely on his serve (which used to be a huge weakness). I'm proud of him. :)

yes,I agree too. The first set will be very important IMO.
his backhand has to be good tomorrow cause not sure his serve will be as good as today.
do your best.

Yeah But Ferrer has no particular weapons like Berdych. However he probably won't make many mistakes like Berdych did yesterday. That means he should be more aggressive and go to the net often to hinder him from getting the ball back.

I found that white shirt suits him better. I hope he wears a white shirt more often. :)

His serve has never been a huge weakness. It has just always been inconsistent. He seems to need time to get rhythm on it. In 05, his serve was on fire from the grasscourt season on but after he injured his elbow, he came back in 06 with a weaker serve and it took him until the DC match against Haas to find some form with it.

So true and a VERY encouraging sign that "Mr. Versatile" is learning to change his game plan. He actually hit a lot of slice backhands and I saw several defensive lobs which he usually does not do - just tries for an outrageous winner.

He must have been working on his serve and it has paid off. Now it's time to tackle the forehand :tape:

He played like shit in the final. What kills me is that he is a thousand times more talented that Ferrer, but probably (for the time being, at least) a thousand times less dedicated than 'pics'

As the announcer said "He didn't show up for the party." He still doesn't have the strength mentally or physically to play tough all the way through a tournament. The "I was tired" just doesn't cut it anymore. Eveyone plays the same amount of matches to get to a final and this time Richie breezed through his matches and wasted little energy so he should not have been as exhausted/flat as he looked out there.

I love watching him play (except on days like today) and can't wait until he gets it all together - And he WILL!

hmm I think Gasquet is a thousand times more talented than Ferrer, but his mentality is a milliion times weaker than Ferrer.

BTW, I have a question about TMC. I know the top 8 gets a spot but what about the two alternates? Do they get to play?

Well, the players under top 8 races, they also come to Shanghai as two alternatives in case players who are top 8 get injured or withdraw during the tournament, which means they're not supposed to play initially. Ancic and Berdych were alternatives last year. But actually Gonzalez and Haas was the no. 9 and 10 in the races but they decided not to come. So the next players came there as alternatives. ;)

I see. Why does TMC only count race points not ranking points. Unless the race position mirrors the rankings.

my0118

I think it's because the races are based on only the season of the year while the rankings count the period of one year from the present week.

Well after Ferrer, anyone of those people can make it as the race points are really close. If Gasquet does well in Madrid and Paris Masters he has a really good chance. Then you can meet Richie in Shanghai and you promise to tell him that I love him very much.

He'll be at the mercy of the draws at Madrid and Paris. Hopefully, he'll get easy ones. Well, if only he had done more during the American hardcourt season. Converting that MP against Verdasco would have done wonders for his chances at the YEC...

I totally agree, that was a missed opportunity which might cost dearly, the same with the lacklustre performance in Hamburg :o , which enraged me personally much more than some of the defeats or debateable decisions this year.

But it is of no use crying over spilt milk, we have to move forward and keep our fingers crossed. Shanghai is still possible. :)

Haas currently has the same race points as Gasquet's thanks to today's victory.
Gonzalez also won, which means there will be only one spot left unless he's knocked out in early rounds of every tournament he will play. Apart from what I'm saying, lots of scenarios could be made.

The race is really nip and tuck.
Richard must do well in Masters Series.
