There are only 3 tournaments left that count, so basically, it would be REALLY difficult for anyone other than Agassi to overtake Hewitt...and even then it would take Agassi working his arse off and Hewitt playing like crap (which is unlikely)

I think he's going to be hard to beat in the near future unless someone has a major winning streak. He may not defend Wimbledon but don't forget he's defending basically nothing at Aus Open (which is one he really wants) and in fact virtually no points from the first few months of the year. He's just very consistent, especially compared to the extremely inconsistent opposition.

Sorry didn't mean to but let's face it that is precisely what happend to the Williams sisters when they were playing a half schedule(10-13 tournaments) and Martina and Capriati were on a full schedule (20-24 tornaments) The Williams girls kept winning the major tournaments but could not improve their rankings. It's only when they decided to play more that they moved to #1.

I like Lleyton he's my #2 fave bad boy behind Marat but I just don't see him at #1 If he plays 12-18 tournaments and other are playing 25-30.

He doesn't really care about being #1 anyway. He will be happy if he wins a few slams and the Davis Cup
