What is Your Favourite Shot?

I was wondering what everyone's favourite shot is? I will ask this in two parts.

A) Which is your favourite shot on the tour? Example Guga's backhand.
B) For those who play tennis what is your favourite stroke?

Any forehand down-the-line. A powerful one, Safin-like. Sadly Marat doesn't do it often.

And the shot I like doing the most... Well its a backhand volley and perhaps my single-handed extereme crosscourt backhand with topspin, when i'm standing between the baseline and the service line (funny, but I use two hands for my rally backhands).

A) I like the Gonzalez forehand when it goes in.
B) My best and favourite shot is the wrong-footing forehand waiting until they moved one way and hitting behind them.

2) Forehand (....guess that's my only shot anyway  )

1) Yep, I'm a big fan of the big forehand winner down the line too. Nothing beats it :yeah:

Actually when playing doubles and hitting a winner down the line of the guy at net, is another shot I enjoy, but don't do it enough.

1.) Best shot to watch- Roger's forehand. I love how he can generate so much spin off nothing shots and from the middle of the court create such vicious angles with it that take his opponents way out.

2.) Favourite shot to play- backhand. As a lefty with a single handed backhand, many people try to pick on that shot so I angle it deep cross court or down the line  My forehand, on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired and it is the shot I am trying the hardest to improve.

It's a thing of beauty.

In other words you don't play like Feliciano Lopez then.

In a sense I guess I do- more of a reverse of Feli in that my backhand is ok but my forehand sucks  (I wouldn't mind to be able to volley as he does though :D ) F/H is actually not too bad if I receive pace from my opponent and use that pace to generate my own, but when I get a floated ball to that side that is when I have problems.

1. Gaudio's backhand.

2. As for a favourite shot. I don't have a specific one, but a combo of the angled groundstroke, drop shot and the topspin lob, that's so enjoyable when it works.

I love watching Rusedski's serve - it is just so fluent and easy. I copied it this year and it worked for a while until i hurt my shoulder! :)

My favourite shop is the inside-out forehand - very effective! :)

Even the lob? Ofcourse as a talented player he sometimes produces amazing lobs, but his average lob is just too inconsistent.

A) David's backhand DTL and drop, Roger's one-hand backhand winners
B) my forehand pass when the opponent approach the net (in fact, it is rarely successful, so those precious done ones make me feel good  )

You obviously didn't see his match against Canas last week in Paris, then. Believe me, you don't want to volley like Feliciano Lopez. ;)

My favourite shot in tennis... the single-handed, cross-court, short-angle topspin backhand, as played a couple of times by Gaudio against Federer in Hamburg off the low ball. Brilliant technique and style.

An honorary mention goes to the delicate low drop volley when played by someone who knows how to do it like Henman - in other words, not Ferrero or Roddick.

My personal favourite shot when playing is the serve, because it's the only one that I know I can make decent contact with on the racket instead of swinging and missing.

The Agassi return of wide serves when he cuts off the angle and sends the ball down the line (equally enjoyable on both sides). ;)

My favorite shot to play is probably an inside-out forehand at a sharp angle.

Favourite shot?
1. Gaudio's backhand, and Federer's forehand.
Overall, I tend to prefer one handed backhands, and volleys, and drop shots are always nice too.

1. If I am looking at all-time shots, Sampras's backhand volley from below the knees were something to see, as well as his superman overheads. Right now, I really like to watch Gaudio hit all the angles with his backhand.

2. My favorite shot is my backhand, taking it early on a short ball, usually down the line on an approach to the net. I also like my lefty serve, because I know my opponents are looking at me like I am an idiot because of the oddity of it compared to the rest of my game.

Actually, I thought Lopez had a good volley.

He's one of the few who volleys regularly with his game, so he pretty much has to be good at them, but he can't volley well on a consistent basis which is one of the things holding him back. Against Canas he played a whole series of awkward, wooden volleys where he didn't move his feet properly and either dumped the ball into the net or let it sit up tamely - and you volley weakly against Canas at your peril. One point sticks in my mind, when Lopez had a game point on serve, worked Canas off the court with a big forehand and came in for a simple cross-court putaway on the forehand volley, and just weakly tapped it into the tape.

Nice to see you maintaining the tone, alfonso.

1. It's not a shot per se but Canas running down everything and the effort he puts into it, but individual shot Gaudio's backhand.

2. Individual shot would be forehand down the line.
