As I understand an Oaf stands for a stupid person, which is used to refer to Marats ability to waste golden opportunities and to lose to players 3 times as bad as he is (oafing).
However, Safin hasn't oafed a lot, lately!
Great victory Marat! I didn't know you're the first to win back to back indoor TMS titles!

Congrats Marat! Even though he played such a horrile 2nd set. It was miracle he won that one.

It is also an acronym OAF- which stands for "Only A Fan", meaning only true fans of Safin can survive this mental rollercoaster without getting a heart attack in the process.

Incidentally, it was funny that being up a break in set #2, Safin dropped his serve right after Stepanek had put on a headband- he must have thought it was Federer for a moment and lost his concentration.

 I can't good-rep you today, but expect one later...
Actually he would have concentrated more against Federer. Might have seen a better set.... :wavey:

Thank you Marat for a brilliant couple of weeks. One might have thought that you can get through atleast one indoor season without ruling it, but no... as it turns out, you're still the King, with no intention of getting off the throne. Great!

Very many congratulations to Marat for winning back to back TMS titles (yes even if he did beat David to win one of them  ), and for becoming only the second man ever to win 3 Paris titles. I thoroughly enjoyed this match - Stepanek played much better than expected to give a good account of himself, and good luck to him in 2005 too.

Marat doesn't look very happy in that picture. Is he in shock? ;)

Congrats to Marat on his back-to-back titles win. :bigclap: I wonder how much of his success can be attributed to Lundgren's coaching? Seems like Marat has finally found somebody who "gets" him and can work with him.

The No. 2 race just got a lot more interesting. :p

Peter has a good effect on Marat and if you combine that with the fact that he's completely healthy, he can win :)

Speaking of Santoro, I noticed Radek used a lot of different spins, dropshots and angles that really frustrated Safin at times- reminded me a lot of how Santoro always drives him nuts. So even more credit to Marat for being able to weather that storm :yeah:

Too true.

Radek missed too many forehands, but congratulations to Marat, he played as well as he needed to against Radek, who had a great week and Marat is fast becoming the Bercy specialist with 3 titles there now.
