Marat was excellent - some fantastic passing shots and great groundstrokes. I enjoyed Lleyton's performance too - congrats to both. The_Lion_Nl 11-05-2004, 08:08 PM Go Safin :bounce: :bounce: Marat played well today, and if he contineus playing like this it will be a second masters shield in a months time. Hopefully he plays well in Housten too, cause the perfect scenario for the housten final still is a Safin\Federer final... Marine 11-05-2004, 08:10 PM According to the rumors (gossips), Lleyton dating Tatiana Golovin... maratski 11-05-2004, 08:18 PM According to the rumors (gossips), Lleyton dating Tatiana Golovin... She's hot, he's not    *Ljubica* 11-05-2004, 08:24 PM According to the rumors (gossips), Lleyton dating Tatiana Golovin... Didn't take him long to recover from splitting from the woman he was planning to marry did it  Lady 11-05-2004, 08:29 PM Well, I told you it was Marat's turn to win! misyou25 11-05-2004, 08:30 PM lleyton :bigcry: Crazy_Fool 11-05-2004, 08:49 PM Congratulations Marat, he's really awesome right now. I can't believe he's actually looking mentally strong  RonE 11-05-2004, 09:34 PM :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Just when you least expect it, Marat turns it on!!! I only saw up until 4-3 in the 3rd. Got broken when serving for the match- that shouldn't cause too much alarm since Hewitt can do that with regularity to opponents. Now come on Marat, win your 2nd TMS in a row and follow through with a good showing in Houston to cap the year off. A year which started out great, was mediocre and at times below-par in the middle, but seems it will finish in a blaze of glory :yeah: jazz_girl 11-05-2004, 09:38 PM Congratulations Marat! Horatio Caine 11-06-2004, 01:06 PM Damn! I wanted Potato to win and promptly lose the next match! Aerien 11-06-2004, 02:30 PM Congrats to Marat for winning and to Lleyton for trying to get back to business immedietly. On a funny note, I just saw a CNN news update that read: "World No.2 Martin Safin def. Lleyton Hewitt 6-4 7-6 in Paris Quarterfinals." Hagar 11-06-2004, 05:26 PM Not really a surprise. When Marat is on, Lleyton has to be at his very best to beat him. For me, Marat is the real number 2 in men's tennis. sprinterluck 11-06-2004, 08:35 PM I agree with you there. Marat's the real #2. He just needs to keep his cool like he's been doing and he'll be #2. He's got deep reserves of natural talent and power and is one of the few players who have the talent to challenge Federer. Lleyton looked powerless against Marat. Marat was just too good on that day. Marat said you have to be very focused to beat Lleyton. Well despite a few blips like losing the first match point against Lleyton and opening the door to give Lleyton 2 set points, Marat fought back and won in two sets showing that he's focused. Hopefully he'll be able to keep his cool next year. I have to admit though that indoors carpet is Marat's surface and he's fared well against Lleyton on indoor carpet before, but outdoors on different surfaces the rivalry is closer. | |
