Only one Top 30 player and most people here appear to be fringe ATP players. Dear god.

For some reason I always love this tournament despite it having a bad field time and time again. I mostly just like how their surface always changes

I love this field.

This is a very, very wide open tournament. I shouldnt say that because youzhny should be favorite but if he's off his game alot of other guys could win this

 You still should. Even the worst pro's are still very fun to watch ;). And these are actually fairly good pros!

I was at some events and agree, but with this players (about 20 of 25 players i not like, some of them i not like at all) no wish to go. If my favor Karlovic in i go ,but he selected Metz :( .

Good luck Ryčka. :)

ill be interested to see how klizan follows up his performance at the US open

It´s kinda questionable whether he will play this tournament, although it is really wide open.

He plays Davis Cup tie this weekend against Portugal. After St.Petersburg he has Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and maybe Shanghai. So I think it all depends whether DC will go smoothly, something like leading 3-0 after Saturday :)(what is very likely, Portugal will play w/o Gil & Machado)

Klizan said "Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo are 100%" - he is in entry lists of it.

And also said "maybe" to St. Petersburg (due to DC) and Shanghai (he is 9th alternate so far).

Klizan should go here. It is so easy tournament and if he can play like in US Open, he could make a lot of points here. Martin will have to defend NO points till February (just some 10 points, I think), so he has to do 250 points till Australia. And then, seeded position on Grandslam, that is good motivation for him :)

Good lord what a field

09-11-2012, 01:05 PM
im thinking kuznetsov and donskoy might both get wild cards here. They are russia's 2 biggest hopes for the future and both are pretty close to the top 100 now and have been in good form lately

09-11-2012, 07:26 PM
Andrey Kuznetsov unlikely will be play in St. Petersburg

09-11-2012, 07:50 PM

he is playing Todi this week

skip davis cup

So far seedings for St.Petersburg are :

1 Youzhny, Mikhail (ATP 29)
2 Istomin, Denis (ATP 34)
3 Klizan, Martin (ATP 46)
4 Fognini, Fabio (ATP 54)
5 Lacko, Lukas (ATP 57)
6 Lu, Yen-Hsun (ATP 59)
7 Garcia-Lopez, Guillermo (ATP 68)
8 Kukushkin, Mikhail (ATP 70)

- Zopp, Jurgen (ATP 71)
- Lorenzi, Paolo (ATP 72)

With Andujar OUT, Kukushkin gets seeded spot and Fognini moves to No.4.

Poor entry list. I was thinking about going, but after entry list appear will not to go.

It is great chance to look good tennisplayers here in our country. So.. Зря не идёшь. Я бы сходил если бы жил в Питере:wavey:

Kavčič out! Back injury

09-14-2012, 05:03 PM
The Davis Cup site mentions that Kukushkin will undergo surgery on his hip after DC. They don't mention when so I don't know whether he will still play this tournament but it might be the case that he will be out. But I expect him to play this tournament as it's one of his favorites before having the surgery afterwards.

Lu will be seeded for the first time this year........
He was injured last week tho
hope he can get his first SF on tour.......
What a chance

What is up with the qualies this year, last year I think all the top 8 seeds were in the top 200, this year there is only 1 in the top 500, one of the crappiest qualy draws ever.
