Agassi will have to do well in Paris now in order to qualify for Houston. His draw looks rather tough. Vpered Safin!

Well Andre doesn't do that well in finals lately but I didn't expect Thomas to beat him  it's pretty much forgotton that Thomas like Tommy Haas had a year out but his results have been more consisent rather than spectular :)

Good news for Tim the farmer :haha:

Agassi will have to do well in Paris now in order to qualify for Houston.

Why bother? He will find a way to lose one there.

Classic Andre: look sharp one match, and then irritated and flat the next, losing to an inferior opponent.

I'd much rather he was well rested for Aussie Open - who gives a fuck about Houston anyway? Legacies are built on Slams.

Andre was tired as hell today. He said that yesterday after his win over Haas. I don't ecpect him to go far in Paris. His legs are old and he's tired.

Welcome back to the winning circle Tojo and Agassi will be in Houston, if it takes Jim to bribe some players not to play there, then he'll do it.

What a great win for Thomas to win in his homeland of Sweden! :D He must be thrilled. This is probably the second greatest individual moment of his career after winning the 2002 Australian Open. And beating Agassi in the final can only make this title even sweeter for Thomas! :)

Must have been an awesome match! Yeah, I would have never thought ToJo could beat Andre in the final but I guess Baldy was tired already. So that doesn't mean good for Paris.
I hope you're right George... about Jim bribing.... I mean.

Seriously, congrats to Tojo- it's been a weekend of upsets in finals with both David and Andre losing tight matches that went right down to the wire.

Pity I didn't get to see this one.

What a great win for Thomas!
I have never expected that he would beat Agassi, but he played so great
tennis and you could really see how much Thomas wanted to win.

Congratulations!

Even with Federer and Coria possibly pulling out and a commanding lead in the champions' race, it seems to me that Henman is still going to contrive to miss out on Houston...

But on a positive note, it's great that Johansson has pulled this off at the tail-end of what has been a rather average comeback season.

Why bother? He will find a way to lose once there.

Classic Andre: look sharp one match, and then irritated and flat the next, losing to an inferior opponent.

I'd much rather he was well rested for Aussie Open - who gives a fuck about Houston anyway? Legacies are built on Slams.

Well, looks like I am getting my wish - Andre is done playing in '04. For his sake I hope it's not really his hip and that he just wants to take 1-2 months off. It's hard enough to win when you're 34 and don't have a great serve; if you're also playing on a bad hip, you're finished.

He needs to play the kind of tennis he played against Roddick in Cincinnati, Federer at USO QF and in 2 matches against Haas if he wants to have a CHANCE at winning AO, W and USO next year; he should skip FO altogether.

i think Andre made just a gift to Sweden... :wavey:

Look: during the tournament he has beaten more stronger
and qualitive players... Before that meeting there
was 6-0 score of individual matches vs T. JOHANSSON

Andre won enough tournaments, he could do that..
he gave a small present for hospitality in Stockholm... ;)

Do not believe?
Look here for today's result:
Sargsian def Johansson 7-5 6-2 !!!
Remember recent match of Andre vs Sargsian US Open?
It was no chance for Sarge...

I am sure now - it was some kind of gift of Andre to Stockholm ;)
Not possible that Andre could loose to a such player...

What are your pathetic excuses when Andre got beaten by Haehnel and for every loss he has ever had in his career?

What are your pathetic excuses when Andre got beaten by Haehnel and for every loss he has ever had in his career?

Sure, that what i'm saying...
Sometimes it hapenning.. just accidents... or gifts...

It does not means johanson is stronger than Andre...
who will remember johanson tomorrow?...

OK, for your understanding: once Federer lost to Nadal?!
Is that means Nadal is stronger?
Just accidental win..., Haehnel? Who remebers him? maybe just you?
But he will remember through all his life that win as the best...

You are a troll and pathetic in many ways actually. Agassi is one of the greatest players of all-time this much is obvious, but when he gets beaten it's not an accident, it's not a gift and it's just very stupid to say that.

Ok, so when he lost to Sampras,Kucera and Rios that wasn't an accident, it's a very simple thing called being outplayed on that given day or not taking his chances, he can be beaten and don't go on with crap like it's a gift or an accident when he does.

As for Federer see the above last sentence.

I wonder what planet Gigan is from
ToJo himself said "This was probably my best match ever. The pace was even higher
than in the Australian Open final against Safin".

So Agassi lost a match, he didn't play his best. ToJo did. That's all it takes really. Some players are inconsistent and they have their flashes of brilliance. This was Thomas' most notable win in the last 2 years. I think we need to give him some credit for taking advantage of agassi while he was a little off the boil. He's taken a year off due to injury, and he's found a new passion for the game. Congrats ToJo :yeah:
