It's a fair comment, but Baker clearly shows a lot of quality and potential. As an Englishman myself, besides the Scot Murray, our players are completely useless and won't cause any upsets. I'd rather see Brian Baker, a genuinely quality player, who has the ability to cause at least one upset, to get a boost up the rankings. But I understand why they would favour British guys over Baker at Wimbledon.

I think it's better for Baker that he didn't recieve a WC. He didn't play on grass for a long time and he needs some practice and as long as he gets on the main draw three matches here in the qualifying draw is the best thing for him

It is, but at this point in his come back the extra matches in qualifying may be helpful in rounding out his form.
