IMO, if Federer plays well enough to beat Raonic, then he can take Nadal out on this surface as well. Their match in Madrid really helped him get into a good rhythm, so I hope the same will happen here. :)

third time meeting this year, on 3 different surfaces

Beating Milos has been a good omen so far for Roger. 2/2 tournament wins, so we'll see if the third time's the charm or if Milos finally has enough to beat him.

I think this match will be decided in tie-breaks and generally 2 key factors:
1. How much Rogerīs slice will bother Milos, Roger can play slice all day- he is using this vs Delpo for example and with low bounce it will mean Milos wonīt attack much and his game will be different and bothered by this.

2.How high FS% will Milos have - if he will be in mid 50s it is not enough vs FEd, if he will be in high60s-70s he has good chance to not let Fed even have half-chances in his service games.

So Milos FS% and how much Rogerīs slice will be effective will be crucial, they havenīt played on grass so we must first see this match, canīt predict anything here. 1st match was on slow HC, 2nd match on fast blue clay... now totally again different surface.

A bit of hyperbole, no reason to focus on it. If he's serving well, though, even getting the ball back in play is what I would describe as an incredible challenge for any opposing player. And this is grass, too. It would surprise me immensely if Federer was able to break him if his FS% is high at all, just as it should surprise anybody else.

Sorry, but calling it hard isn't an accurate enough descriptor for just how difficult it is to return his serves when he's on and blasting 140 MPH shots where he wants.

he was serving well last year too and picasso was able to break him more than once.

federer knows how to handle the big servers, it might take him a set to get a read on the serve but once he has it i'd like his chances.

fed has a really good serve too so it will be about who can get more returns into play

Every game Milos has played, he's had a shaky service game or two (especially serving out a set or a match), so not impossible.

Either way, this is probably the best pre-Wimbledon warm up experience he could get.

Tough tough ask for anyone to play milos on grass let alone "fast grass" compared to wimbledon then it being on their second match on halle with FRESH GREEN FAST GRASS. Its only fed's second match on grass and milos been preparing for a while post french. Not really indicative how fed would do at wimbledon against a big server since this grass is soo much faster than what wimbledon is like second week in the quarterfinals when he'd be facing a berdych, tsonga, etc.

Fed will have to serve well and hold his serve comfortably. He must capitalize on the first break chance he gets as that is maybe all you get on fast grass against milos on fast grass otherwise roll the dice and go to the breakers

I have to laugh at the people saying Fed will destroy Milos because he knows how to handle servers. Milos has played Fed twice in his career, and both times won the first set before Fed managed to win in a very tight match, and that was on slow hardcourt and clay.

Fed will probably win but this will no doubt be very close

IDK... I was watching the Madrid's match highlights.
And... OMG... THat's the tennis I love, fast, powerful strokes, perfect volleys by both.
Big serves, all the time searching for the winner, 0 push.

If Roger and Milos manage to bring half a match as the Madrid one, I'll be so, so happy.

Roger has plenty of experience playing and beating big servers. If that's all Milos can bring to the table (which is all I saw at the Australian Open), this will be a straight sets win for Federer

Federer can actually defend somewhat on this surface as opposed to the slippery blue clay of Madrid. Fed serve and volleying on BPs should tell you something about the Madrid match. He also had a good practice with Flo Mayer so let's wait and see but I am hoping for 2 sets victory with 1 TB at most. Expecting Milos in 3 though ;).
