Ah we'll see about that.

And no, he isn't. All those three have at least one important title, be it Grand Slam or Masters + Slam finals. Ferrer will never win a Masters, or even a set in a Masters final, let alone reach a Slam final.

His biggest claim to fame is the worst H2H record between two top five players in tennis history. He has taken a grand total 3 sets in 13 matches against Federer.

Del Potro, Berdych, are definitely not far better than Ferrer. Maybe slightly better, probably not even that. Who is the one who is ranked No.6 in the world and reached at least the 4th round in the last 6 majors?

Who is the one to have won a Grand Slam title beating two of the best ever on the way?

Who are the ones to have won Masters titles + reached Slam finals?

Who is the one with 0 Slam finals + 0 sets won in Masters finals?

Doing well in Buenos Aires, Acapulco and the like is good and keeps your ranking high, but doesn't make you better than players who actually managed to produce some great results, certainly not better than a player who won a Slam (JMDP) and one who beat all the top three players at Grand Slam level (Tsonga), all of them being far younger than Ferrer as well.

I agree, they are slightly better than Ferrer but definitely not far better.
Consistency in grand slams has to count for something too.
And Ferrer has been playing currently better than the others.

It would if Ferrer was actually consistent at Slams. He's 30 and has reached the semis of Slams only three times in his career, which is hardly consistency at the highest level.

Taking current level of play into account, slightly better might be an accurate description. But looking at the overall there's no way a player who beat Roger and Rafa to win a Grand Slam or the only one who beat all top 3/4 players at Grand Slams are only slightly better than Ferrer.

Dodig beat 2 from 5 best tie break players winning two breakers, including final set breaker . Don't specially like the guy but give his clutch to any top 10 player and you'll have #1 ranked player for some time

Still haven't seen player ranked around Dodig's places whose chance are raising as he makes closer contest against top players

Dodig needed this win badly! All Year he couldn't win back to back matches,
Not to mention winning ovet a TOP10 player, so this win is HUGE for him.
Tsonga did not tank the match, infact he had 6-5 and 00-30 on Dodig's serve but
Dodig levelled to 6-6 and comfortably won tie-break.
In 2nd set at score 3-3, Dodig served bad and Tsonga took the chance, break for 4-3.
Still Dodig had right away his own break ball to level to 4-4, but Tsonga served ace
and even managed to break again for 2nd set and score 6-3.
In 3rd it was pretty much smooth serving from both until tie-break, where infact Dodig could have finished everything much earlier, but instead of going 5-2 missed a open court shot,Then with good serving went to 6-5 and on 1st match point Tsonga gifted 2nd serve, which Dodig converted right away to win the match.
Throughout the match Dodig was showing great determination to win, which in several
occasions resulted in him being "Becker alike“ - flying in order to reach the ball...
Anyhow, Dodig WON the match, no matter how bitter Tsonga fans are.

Must have been Ilija (Ika) Bozoljac from Serbia. BTW, this Dodig guy lost in straight sets to the mug called Viktor Troicki at World something Champs in Dusseldorf (the winners got about 200 000 euros or so) and it was a drubbing. Dodig is a gutsy player with no skill, but I like him nevertheless. However, skillwise he is even worse than Troicki -- so the occasional win here and there means litle. Kudos to him, regardless. BTW, nice day for me, I've lost about 15 pounds so far after the strict self-imposed diet, so I am down to 255 pds now. I'm planning to lose 15 more pounds yet and be down to my 23 yr old weight, 240 pounds :). Wish you all the same -- good health.

This is why Queens needs to be Open 500. Top players don't give a shit anymore.

This.

I was at Queens on Wednesday and it was terrible. Both Andys were crap. The level of play was pathetic. And the matches on the other courts were abysmal. And we paid £92 each for the tickets. The crowd were just Corproate boozers swilling back free booze in the bar and the stands. Scandalous and never again.
