How far can he go in this tournament considering the field is pretty average. mostly clay court players. His record is 2-1 on grass losing in the qualifiers last year in Wimbledon.

It's not. He lost in the Wimbledon qualifier last year.

A lot will depend on his draw. As of now, the field consists of Ferrer, Troitski, Haase, Melzer, Falla, Ferrero ... So I don't think the field is average as the OP claims. If he gets to the QF, it would be great. Anything more would be cream.

Expectations shouldn't be too high for him here. As we all know the confirmation of a good run is always very difficult, not to mention he isn't really an experienced grass court player. Good to get some grass play before Wimbledon, smart move. I am very curious what he Will do here.
