When he won Madrid in 2002 he played St. Petesburg and Paris next. If he plays at Houston, he won't be fit

will he? baldy will fight for the houston ticket to the last moment. and both tim and david play full recent weeks, seems these three will continue in the next. tim will go paris with his Magnesium pills, andre and david have to bring on their anytime muscle massagists.

another big SHIT DRAW for the Germans.
Schüttler has to play right against Lopez at the beginning and Haas is up to a possible 2nd round match against Agassi (again...)

pugg it :banghead: :( :banghead:

Even if Tim loses, Agassi has to reach semis and win at Stockholm to pass him

Andrei has a good chance to defend a lot of his points, being in the Moya/Gaudio quarter...I like the draw being posted en francais, by the way.

I think Agassi should be able to win Stockholm.... if Henman does lose to Novak (again!), then Agassi's path to the Paris SF is pretty clear...

If Agassi is 100% fit that is true, but he has to be tired now

Corey Feldman
10-29-2004, 07:48 PM
good news as far as tim concerned, only 1 of nalbi/agassi can make the final....
therefore if tim can make Qf, he'd pass Coria, and almost 99% home and dry...
unless :)..... nalbi wins basel, agassi wins stockholm......... agassi beats henman qf paris and nalbi beats agassi SF paris
something along those lines i think
henman v novak r3....tim might be saved by the fact that bjorkman or youzhny could shock a tired novak, then tim might bt jonas/misha :D unlikely though with tim playing like a twat thesedays :D

Corey Feldman

good move from carlos to play this....even if he's not that fit, 1 match win still worth 15 race points, and that would probably seal it for him ..

Corey Feldman

look at the players in the 2nd quarter, compared to the players in the 3rd quarter, its a fecking joke this draw :o

That's an understatement... but Marat/Lleyton could be very interesting matchup - a good test of form for both players.

True- but as I recall their last meeting in Bercy Palais D'Omnisport was pretty one sided :o

Havok

Meh, the bottom half of the draw really only has Safin and Hewitt as pretty big names. Sure Moya is a big name, but he hasn't played in a while so who knows how his tennis is looking. Sucks that Hewitt and Safin have to meet in the quarters. The top half of the draw is loaded with good players (Roddick, Agassi, Nalbandian, henman, PimPim, Haas, etc.), while the bottom half has players like Gaudio, Pavel, Robredo, etc. Still great players, but when you compare the two it's night and day.

Corey Feldman
10-29-2004, 08:23 PM
disgraceful draw.... to have agassi v haas possibly in r2, with winner to play pimpim in 3rd....i hate these draws
good guys go out early, and you'll probably see some 'average' players scrape into QF'S

Havok
10-29-2004, 08:26 PM
In a sense, yeah it is a crappy draw as big names are gonna be losing right away, though if the draw was more evened out, it would have been a really good one. Though this is a classic TMS draw, hard as hell from the get-go, though the 3rd and 4th sections aren't hard right away.

Corey Feldman
10-29-2004, 08:30 PM
potential Agassi v Henman QF would be a real blockbuster...
a winner takes all- and goes to houston kinda match
if agassi wins stockholm though :)

Havok
10-29-2004, 08:32 PM
Though isn't Coria not playing TMC? So that frees up another spot so it might not be such a winner-takes-all kind of match. Though that kind of match-up I wouldn't mind watching.;)

Deboogle!.
10-29-2004, 08:33 PM
Can anyone who's good at the rankings help?

A first round (or for the seeds, a second round) loss is worth three race points at Paris, right? Why? Or is the ATP site wrong :o

crouching
10-29-2004, 08:44 PM
Henman's chances against any of his three R16 opponents are potentially not too good.

Novak has a major psychological edge now; Henman has a poor record against Bjorkman (and other genuine serve-and-volleyers), although Bjorkman has been playing poorly recently ; Henman has never faced Youzhny, but I guess the latter is generally dangerous on a fast surface...

Agassi may yet sneak Henman's place in the TMC :)

A good test Debstah.

Hewitt will have to play well on carpet if he wants to have a chance.

Safin's the one to beat at BNP Paribas... he's won 2 times. He would be the favorite v/ Hewitt.

Nah , a seeded player who loses his 1st match will only get 1 point........ if someone playing in R48 wins the match through to R32, he gets 7 points i think
should be, but atpsite says 3 points for r64 players (only 48 in the field)
as for Coria....ive heard he'll play houston, or try play it

Will Roddick go to Europe to play this tournament? When he pulled out of Madrid, there was a lot of speculation that he'd stay in the US until TMC, then practice on clay for Davis Cup final in Spain.
Any official word yet?
And now that the draw is out, will they put a lucky loser in his place, or bump someone to #17 seed, and into Andy's spot in the draw?

Deboogle!.
10-29-2004, 11:13 PM
Yes, the official word from Andy's site and Andy's coach is that they are going. He feels better and wants match play before Houston and wants to try to keep his #2 position. They leave tomorrow to arrive Sunday morning, according to his site.

thanks Escude, I guess the ATP site is just wrong about the points allocation for this one.

Andy needs to remain no. 2. If he doesn't he could play against Roger in the RR :smash: :tape:. The no.1 and no. 2 are fixed in different groups

fonso, if Andy just wins one match, Hewitt has to make the final to overtake him in the Race. Andy better win one match :armed:

Sure it is :o But if he had been in, that would mean he had to draw David in the Qf and thinking David is still fighting damn hard for a position in Houston... Did you expect a fight between us

I'm quite glad to see David in the quarter of Andy. Would be potential fun qf. Such a great chance to take the revenge and earn himself a chance in making Houston. I very much want David to appear in Houston, of course not just some onlooker.
