Necessary victory for X-Man, who is provisionally out of the top 100 this week and is defending a lot of points during the grass season. Excellent service numbers in the second set.

Yea tough circumstances but he really got an amazing draw here, Bogo/Klizan should be another very winnable match for him. I hope he can turn around his ranking

And this is Ungur's 1st grass court match. Tough customer for him.

Thought Ungur had a chance here. Oh well, X-Man was due for a win sooner or later. Grass is his friend, and the draw seems to be opening nicely as well.

Yes, the draw is great here for X. He surely can make QF here, maybe even better, considering the fact Roddick is nowhere near his best.

This match was pure comedy. Malisse was in absolute vintage form today. Two points into the match he was already muttering about line calls, throwing his racquet and rolling his eyes, strutting around, casually ballbashing insane I-don't-care-at-all-see? winners all over the place. He was angrily smashing his racquet whenever he allowed Ungur to merely hold serve. It was quite hilarious how Malisse appeared to be far more interested in what was happening in the Klizan-Bogomolov match literally right next door on the adjoining court, to the point where he was barely ready to receive Ungur's serves because he was constantly peering over there. I remember at one point Malisse hit this unbelievable lob winner over Ungur's head, crowd excited, and he just immediately turns to look at what Bogo's doing as if it was such a tiresome distraction to have to hit an insane winner in order to have a few more seconds to concentrate on Bogo's match. He was literally barely paying attention and yet still managed to break Ungur at 4-4 in the first set. Then he gets to watch those guys some more during the changeover, gets up and quickly blasts like 4 service winners to take the first set and be able to watch them some more. He should be well prepared to face either guy in the next round!

The more pissed off/distracted Malisse gets, the better he seems to play. Every time he got ridiculously worked up about a line call, he would inevitably proceed to angrily bash a winner on the very next point. In the first game of the second set, with Ungur serving game point, Malisse slams this amazing shot to Ungur's backhand corner, which Ungur somehow reflexes back into play for what was ruled an outright winner but which was actually just wide. Malisse started gesticulating wildly, kicking his shit around at the changeover, overturning chairs, muttering 'what is this fucking shit', crowd egging him on by confirming to the unamused umpire that Ungur's shot was indeed wide. So Malisse continues to shake his head and act like he suffered a catastrophic break whereas in reality he is already a set up and 0-1 on serve. He was much happier when he broke Ungur again at 2-2, like it was supposed to be, literally slapping winners at will.
Ungur was not playing badly and had some really nice touch shots and some out of nowhere amazing backhands like in fed match, but Malisse acted like Ungur had no business holding serve, it was hilarious. Finally Ungur himself also started throwing racquets and muttering, especially when he hit an absolutely wicked drop shot from the baseline which Malisse got away with getting back on a double bounce.
This was a classic, too bad so few people watching. Malisse to win the tournament.

Thank you, X is amazing :haha:
We can't have such a guy out of TOP 100.

And this is Ungur's 1st grass court match. Tough customer for him.

If you mean for his career, it's actually his 3rd, he's now 0-3, what's interesting is that he's lost in straights, but no more than a break each time.

Yes. I was there.

Reaffirmed my love of Malisse :worship:, especially nice after the awful Gulbis result which was ruining my day.

The most ridiculous is when those two play each other.:facepalm:
