Jan has made the finals of Prostejov this week without losing a set, losing seven games his last two matches vs Gabashvili and Stepanek. Hajek is seeking his fourth Prostejov title and will be top 100 should he do so.

Mayer has had more struggles in this event but has gotten better as the week has progressed and played a good match today.

H2H is 2-1 Hajek, winning both clay matches between these two. Who do you think takes the title here? Hopefully, it's Jan. He needs the win more and it would be more special for him and the fans, should he take the title. Mayer is ranked top 35 and doesn't need this in the same way.

AFAIK Mayer needs it to qualify (necessary ranking) for the Olympic Games.

Mayer is top 35 already. He also passed Kohli and is the #1 German now in the rankings.

He'd only be ranked #29 if he wins here, so no.

Isn't it top 35 automatically in?

Germany only let Top 24 in, or those who went deep in a Slam.

Oh, well that's too bad for Florian. He won't get in. So with that being said, then my original point stands-----Hajek needs to win this title more and so hopefully, he makes it happen.

Local boy in two.

It's time Czech Republic had a world tour event.

Yes!

Jan plays at a top 50 level in this event. But Mayer is top 50 so it will be tough. I really hope he wins because Jan is the real Challenger level player (10 Challenger semis or better in the last year) who needs the points.

Quality final here, could go either way for sure. I like Hajek's chances, being local is always a plus and after cruising past his opponents this week, would give him the slight edge.
