Murray's back seems fine now and he played well against Giraldo. So, who wins this?

I'll go with Murray in 4. If it comes down to an endurance match, Murray will win. If Murray starts really well, he will win. Even if Gasquet is 2-0 up, Murray can still win. The only way Gasquet can win this is if he ends the match quickly, which I don't see happening against someone like Murray.

Either in 5 coming back from 2 set and a break down or fairly routinely. I think the latter with Murray dropping a set.

Gasquet who was losing to Haas because of bad playing against Dimitrov, now should be favorite against Murray...

That's the logic of MTF.

Now reality - If Murray would be fit - he is 60-65% favorite, due to higher class, more experience, more confidence and higher level of physical strenght.

Gasquet looked like gawd against Haas, who isn't more than a kind of James Blake in form for his age. Which is a relative walkover on the french clay.

Still, the guy is playing decent enough to keep it relatively tight with a far from brilliant Murray, but fact is the Brit is favorite and should win in 4 normally.

Nerves were clearly an issue for Gasquet in the first sets of both the Dimitrov and Haas matches - and he wasn't down 2 sets to Dimitrov because Grigor's nerves were worse than his. From the time this draw came out, many have believed that this is an even match due to Rome and Murray's health - which could make it worse for Gasquet.

I'll give Richie a set but I fully expect nerves to come into play. Murray in 4.

I know where my money would go to be honest.

True, but I would argue:

Wimbledon 2008 - undoubtedly a choke. However, Gasquet was in a dark place, mentally, at this stage. Had some bizarre matches where he played with no direction, purpose, or seemed to care. Problems with coaches?

French Open 2010 - running on empty after winning Nice. Final played the day before his match with Murray? Seem to remember some controversy - he thought he was harshly treated by the organisers.

Wimbledon 2011 - Murray simply the superior player going into the match, and proved it.

In two days time, Gasquet will have a very legitimate chance to beat Murray imo. Most importantly, he is in a much better place, mentally, than he has been for a good few years. His ranking has been stable top 20, and he has a sound level of belief. He is the superior player on this surface, and proved that in Rome a couple of weeks ago.

Gasquet does need to play a good match, though, and he will need to lead from the outset. Murray has a large physical edge and, of course, there is every chance that Gasquet will bottle it (has a poor record at RG for a reason). Murray will slap him silly if he does.

Head says that Gasquet will win, but my gut favours Murray. Certainly if Murray repeats his performance against Giraldo, Gasquet will a real match on his hands.

I think this matchup for Gasquet is like Nadal (at a slam) is for Murray - he knows he can match him at times but doesn't have confidence in himself to maintain it over best of five. Murray in his interview has already said he's going to try and outlast him and i'm sure that's exactly what will happen. That is, barring any further injury problems for Murray.

Edd's prediction: Murray to win in four, 7-5 3-6 6-4 6-2

No you're hoping that Nadal loses before the final and that Fed somehow makes it to the final. Whoever wins the final has to deserve it, i.e. beat the very best. If Roger beats Berdych, Nole and Rafa then you'd have a lot to be happy about, than him beating Goffin, getting a walkover in the quarters, beating Seppi in the semis and then Pico in the final
