Slight hiccup in the 3rd set when serving for it but Nico never let Baggy back in it fully, the serve too big in the end. Another fairly routine win. Almagro marching on, ready to take the title.

Always sad to see this trash go through, but fatdatis is a bye in todays tennis.

Just saw the end - Almagro booed off the court - just the usual rude, classless French crowd, or did Almagro do something wrong?

Another pedestrian result from Bagdhatis. Starting to lose faith this guy will ever do anything significant on tour again.

i was watching. I have no idea what he did. There was a moment toward the very end where he juggled the tennis ball with his feet for a brief bit and there was some slight booing after that. Maybe he kicked it away from the ball kid on accident

Entertaining third set. Almagro not quite at his best level yet. French booing
Bghdatis first, then Almagro. They really have no clue.:o

yep, not a good sign when you are becoming just a routine 2nd round win for a seeded player.

Almagro was good in patches, not consistent enough. Must do better against probably Kohli.

There was one point where he questioned a call, but that was it.
I think it were the Cypriotian fans, not the French. They were very loud and annoying at times.
Nico dealt with it nicely, and made a funny comment about them. After he went to Baghdatis to explain, good sport as he is, and he fully understood.

Maybe he kicked it away from the ball kid on accidenti seen it and when the crowd cheered Almagro's keepy up kicks he told them to shut up, this is the kind of muppet Almagro is

big headed buffoon could make enemies in a church

I second that. Great routine win today btw.

I'm just surprised he wasnt broke in that last game, would have been typical for him to make life tougher than it should be. But he just played solid on bp down, kept it in play and Baghy self-destructed.

Almagro really is a beast on the dirt - Leo Mayer next which I can see going to 4, tight few sets as Mayer is serving well and playing confident stuff, should force a breaker or win a set. Then face the winner of Tipsy/Benneteau which should be competitive if Benny is up to the task physically. Tipsy is quite beatable on clay.

Yeah the French are obnoxious at times.

Think Magro kinda likes the bit of atmosphere and banter. He was throwing some eyes to the crowd once he got over the line.

Hell yes, haha, if anything they can only achieve to motivate Almagro even more resulting in louder celebrations, grunts, etc. !

Quit the bullshit. Almagro might be a fierce guy, but he is always a good sport, has a lot of respect for his opponents. He is honest as well, goes to players directly if he doesn't like something. Doesn't go to the umpire.
You really have the wrong picture about Almagro.
